When Trust Is the Ultimate Weapon...

John and Laurie Toomey’s Collateral Redemption plunges readers into Amelia’s shattered world after a violent home invasion upends her life. When her financier husband enlists security contractors Gabriel and Daniel to investigate, their probe reveals a labyrinth of deceit far deadlier than the initial attack. As threats escalate, Amelia evolves from vulnerable survivor to resilient fighter, navigating fractured trust and unexpected alliances. The Toomey’s masterfully balance breakneck suspense with intimate emotional stakes, weaving visceral action alongside Amelia’s raw healing journey. Themes of loyalty and rebirth pulse through every chapter, anchored by flawed, compelling characters who blur lines between protector and threat. A taut, thought-provoking thriller that champions the tenacity of the human spirit. Perfect for fans of layered, character-driven suspense. Highly recommended.

After a violent home invasion, Amelia doesn’t know who to trust. Her precious, protected world has been shattered, and she doesn’t know how to find her way back to comfort and security. Her husband, a Wall Street success story, hires Gabrial and Daniel, a pair of private security contractors, to protect Amelia and investigate the crime.

The duo begins to look into it, but the further they dig, the more disturbing facts come to light. It seems that there was much going on behind the scenes of Amanda’s life of which she was unaware. Now, she must try to find normalcy again while coming to grips with several truths, each one more frightening and disconcerting than the last. This is a tense, suspenseful book filled with twists and turns that are certain to grip the reader until the climactic final sequence.

An unputdownable novel
Stories that have secrets, action and dangers are my favourites. In “Collateral Redemption”, there is a bit of this but also there's a connection of personal strength and resilience.
After an incident in Ameli’s house, her life changes all of the sudden. Her husband decides to help her by hiring two private security contractors to protect her and help her solve the crime. During the process, she learns to defend herself and heal her deep wounds.
In short, this novel takes you to different situations that involve a deep understanding and analysis as you read it. The plot is captivating and twisted with well-crafted and complex characters. I was really into the plot as soon as I started reading it. I highly recommend it.

I really liked Collateral Redemption by John and Laurie Toomey. Amelia’s trauma after the home invasion is really tough to read about. She suffers both physically and emotionally, and it’s heartbreaking to see her struggle. What I admire is how she slowly regains her strength and starts trusting people again, even though it’s so difficult for her. It’s inspiring to see her fight through it.

The book also shows how healing and redemption can happen. Amelia, Gabriel, and Daniel all go through hard times but learn to move forward. I’ve had moments in my own life when healing seemed impossible, but this story shows that with time and support, we can overcome the darkest moments. It’s a powerful reminder that we can heal, even if it takes time.

This book fascinated me; it's undoubtedly one of the best books I've read this year. In addition, it explores topics that aren't normally discussed, such as trauma, recovery, and the great power of human connection. These topics are very sensitive to the world, but the authors focus so well on them that they don't make us see these topics as difficult. Instead, they make us see them as everyday things, but of great relevance, no matter how difficult the topic may be. Without a doubt, a great book. I found the stories we use as examples to be revealing from beginning to end, in addition to their unexpected twists that keep us hooked. I highly recommend this book. I loved it from beginning to end.

Amelia had a normal life, but an event turned her life upside down. A raid and a crime left her unprotected, her husband, in his desire to take care of her, hires two private detectives, who as the investigation progresses, encounter a network of lies and deceptions.
With an extremely engaging plot, this story leaves the reader wanting more. The scenes are very well described and with them, readers enter a world of suspense and action, from which it is very difficult to leave. The metamorphosis of the characters is exquisite, since their real personalities can be seen. Without a doubt, a book to recommend and not stop reading.

Collateral Redemption turned out to be a very complete novel. It dives deep into the flaws of the legal system and the importance of trust and loyalty. The plot is engaging, immersing the reader in a complex story totally plausible, something that could happen to any of us, making it feel authentic.

Overall, it was a great read. The author created a story that transcends time while trying to create characters that are easy to empathize with. The novel is average length, easy to follow, and has no fillers or boring parts, perfect for the adult looking for a compelling read filled with emotion. A five-star review for a five-star novel.

Every decision we make has a consequence, but really, how often do we think about the collateral damage of our actions?
This book is a captivating and gripping invitation to think about the complexities of human relationships. Let me say that the author did an incredible job with the narrative which is a perfect blend of action, mystery and danger. Plenty of twists and turns, it’s impossible to put down!
The characters are richly developed, specially the protagonist, Amelia, whose resilient journey will make the reader reflect on how life can change in an instant.
I have been deeply encouraged by this story, and I am pretty sure that all readers of it will be.

"Collateral Redemption" by John and Laurie Toomey is a novel that captivated me from its first pages. It's one of those novels you can't stop reading to find out what will happen next. What connected most to me about this book was Amelia's transformation. As the story progresses, she learns to fight, heal, and trust again. I really like how, despite going through a painful and uncertain process, she can allow herself to rebuild her life after the tragedy. I highly recommend this book for its ability to show the reality of life, with a story that connects through human resilience, friendship, loyalty, and the transformative power of love.

What I loved most about this book is how it balances edge-of-your-seat thriller elements with building relationships keeping you guessing about who can truly be trusted.

Amelia is such a compelling character—intelligent, resourceful, and deeply human. Her journey through love, betrayal, and self-discovery is beautifully layered, making her someone you root for even as the stakes skyrocket.

John & Laurie Toomey seem to have a knack for weaving intense emotional connections into a web of high-stakes action which I thoroughly enjoyed!
