This passion culminated into my debut novel, Drawing From the Void, a YA fiction novel about a girl who embarks on a magical journey of self-discovery. My writing is heartfelt, encouraging readers to nurture meaningful relationships, embrace imperfections, and find magic in everyday life.
I was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains. Now, I reside in Maine, with my husband and our two beloved cats, Captain Murphy Whiskerton III (Murphy) and Cheesecake (Cheese). By day, I work in Human Resources, but by night, I bring my imagination to life, crafting magical stories that reveal wonder in the mundane. Inspired by nature and driven by a passion for animals, my creative voice shines in both my work and my life.
I have volunteered in wildlife rehabilitation, bottle-feeding porcupines, hand-feeding owlets, and even being bitten by a duck along the way. Outside of writing, my creativity extends to hobbies like gardening, drawing, crocheting, and making up songs about my cats.
Believing in the power of words to create change, my approach to writing and life is best described by Dr. Seuss in The Lorax: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better. Received this as an ARC read through a #GoodreadsGiveaway and it sat on my kindle for a wee bit, but I recently wanted to read something a bit more cozy and fun. This book was a fun time and on other platforms I’m able to give it 4.5 stars! Characters are fun. The end had a lot of action and drama, definitely more than I was expecting h from this sweet little read. I forgot how recent this was and was so sad that I couldn’t get the next one yet. There’s a lot unfinished or unanswered, so I hope it comes out soon!

I just finished the book and my mind is (understandably!) all over the place.
It was amazing. Heartwarming, surprising and heartbreaking. It was all the things. I will say I said "what the fuuuuck" out loud at one point. I really didn't see that twist happening. I have tears in my eyes at the fact that it's over and I hope you are almost done writing book 2

Ellie is a witch raised closely by her parents in a small, rural community. She's been kept under her mother and grandmothers thumb, despite the fact that she is 19 and looking to see the world. Ready to spread her wings, she takes a shot at freedom by escaping with her basset hound familiar, Louie. She's not expecting the challenges and changes the open road will bring about.

This was such an interesting short novel. The first half of the book had steady pacing and intrigue with nods to a very strange mother, a demanding grandmother, and a sweet and supportive father. We hear about a city or community called Oren, as well as learn about their traditions, a bit about how witches function, and the betrayals Ellie discovers.
The second half of the book does start to wane a bit with the transition to travel. While the scenery described was beautiful, it did drag the book itself out as there wasn't much of anything unique happening while they were exploring. It could possibly just be because for such a short novel (under 250 pages) so much happened in the first half, that the second felt relatively mellow. However I did find myself pulled out of the second half of the book more than once.
The developments towards the end, with more details on familiars and how they function, and the big cliffhanger was enough for me to be invested in the next book in the series. We do end up with way more plot holes than I would normally be comfortable with in a first novel, but knowing a second is on the way, I'm absolutely hooked to see what happens next.
If you're looking for a magical YA read, with unique characters and some cloaked secrets we've yet to uncover. This one is for you!

I had the absolute privilege of reading Drawing from the Void as an ARC, and I’m thrilled to say this book has completely blown me away.
If you love NA contemporary fantasy, or even just magic and witchcraft, you need this book in your life. With its captivating storyline and heartwarming depth, this book left me both speechless and breathless. I was underprepared for the magic and emotion this book evoked. I both laughed out loud and gasped several times reading this, and I’m so excited to see what comes next for Ellie and Louie.
The concept of a basset hound as a newly-adult witch’s familiar is fresh and unique, but what really made the story were the authentic interactions and unexpected twists. It was impossible to put down. Ellie-Lynne Becker and her canine familiar, Louie, cast a spell over me from the very first chapter, and even now, I find myself dreaming of their world.
If you haven’t already got this book and you’re thinking about it, let me tell you that this is one of the funnest and unexpected reads I’ve personally had in a long time and I just can’t recommend it enough. Drawing from the Void is a gem that I’ll be rereading again and again. The Channeling the Void series has undoubtedly already become one of my favorites, and I’ll be waiting eagerly for the sequel. ✨

I really, REALLY enjoyed this book.
This story came in a time in my life where I needed something to sweep me off my feet, was easy to read, and made me feel emotions.
It definitely did just that.
It's a story of a young lady, Ellie, who goes on a journey of becoming her own person, with all the heartbreak and joys that go along with that. Her dynamic with her parents jumpstart this adventure, and with her trusty Familiar basset hound, Louie, they travel to various nearby towns and cities (including Boston!).
It's hard not to fall in love with the dynamic duo of this tale, Ellie and Louie. They have such a love and respect for one another that I found myself cheering them on in their journey, and also booing those that disrespected Louie. (I found myself also becoming entranced by what motivated those characters to be jerks though, and that added SUCH a neat layer on top of everything else. It would have been easy to say "this person is a jerk and let's move on," but part of what makes this story so good is that the author gives some of WHY and HOW these characters are the way they are. I'm referring to, of course, KIMBERLY.)
The other gut-punch has something to do with Ellie's father, Elijah. He's such a sweetheart, and to avoid spoilers, I should end it there.
There's something about this story that beautifully captures the messy adventure that life is. It holds it in a glass bottle, so we can all see the happenings of a sliver of humanity, and asks us to hold it with love and wonder in our hearts.
That's the kind of book this is. A lovely book, a life book.
I did find myself wanting to know more about how Familiars work and what the Void is like, but I do like how the story's focus is more on Ellie and Louie's relationship. I mention this because part of the reason why I'm intrigued by a second book in a series is maybe we will learn more about how the Void and Familiars work? One way to find out!
This is a beautiful first novel, there's twists, turns, adventure, crabs, muffins (so many muffins!)… it's the kind of story that feels like a soft hug from a new friend, and then doesn't let go until the end. There, at the end, I wish to feel that warm embrace again.

I had the honor to be an ARC reader for Drawing from the Void and let me tell you, it was a joy to read! It’s a book full of silliness and heart that felt truly needed with all the wild things happening in the world right now. It really scratches that escapism itch. Centered on a sheltered teenage witch named Ellie-Lynne, or Ellie to everyone but disapproving moms, grandmothers, and her charming familiar Louie, the cutest basset hound ever! Drawing from the Void is a story about breaking out of the known and finding yourself without all the restrictions of tradition weighing you down.
As someone who grew up in a very small town, I found Ellie relatable. There are so many expectations around what you should do with your life because of what everyone before you has done, and although I wasn’t expected to marry a stranger (gross!), I can still identify with struggling against norms. I can also identify with her as a witch! Although with significantly fewer sparks and glowing potions.
Ellie and Louie’s friendship is also the sweetest! The two of them supporting each other throughout this journey is so heart-warming and makes me wish I could speak to my own sweet pup! KC’s writing makes you forget that Louie is in the form of a dog so often, that I had to do a double-take a few times, but I love it. After all, Louie isn’t really a dog, he just appears that way. KC stresses the importance of community throughout the book, and as a young queer woman, I couldn’t agree more on how truly important it is! Finding your people is something everyone deserves to do, and I can’t wait to read more about Ellie and Louie’s journey going forward!
If you’re looking for a light, warm, and funny read with a tinge of family drama, I highly recommend Drawing from the Void. I can see myself picking it back up for a re-read when I need a little cheering up in the future. Happy reading!

Her bond with Louie, her adorably clumsy basset hound familiar, is the heart of the story. Their dynamic is both hilarious and heartwarming, and I loved how it evolved as the stakes grew higher.
KC Fetch has an incredible way of balancing humor and heartache. The banter between Ellie and Louie is delightful, but as the plot thickened and Ellie’s world expanded, the emotional depth of the story really developed. Watching Ellie face challenges that pushed her limits, both magically and personally, was both inspiring and relatable.
The pacing was spot-on for a shorter novel. Every moment felt purposeful, and the story built to an ending that left me in tears and desperately wanting more. That cliffhanger! KC Fetch absolutely knows how to keep readers hooked.

Wow! I did not predict the ending at all! It left me hanging (in a good way) :) The book is essentially about a young spirited girl Ellie, defining her own destiny with her cute familiar, a basset hound (so cute!) despite her scary fate being foretold. In the first half of the book, we can feel Ellie's boredom being stuck in her small cozy town in Connecticut and desperately wanting to free herself from her overprotective controlling magical family. In the next part of the book, we find her exploring the "big city" with her familiar. I found the journey to be engaging and fun-I could feel her excitement and giddiness as she leaves her home and her frustrations as she meets roadblocks one after the other. Here, I really liked how the author portrays the downsides of big cities! I am the same as Ellie when ordering coffee in coffee shops in big cities :) For me, the best part of the story was her connection with her familiar Louie and how their bonds remain strong through many "big" changes (not to give out any spoilers!).
Essentially, I felt the book is about friendship, magic and finding yourself and your strengths. A really enjoyable read. Thank you so much author for the e-ARC! All opinions are my own.

ok so what hooked me first is the cover (as always lmao im weak towards gorgeous covers), then the blurb, then the totally awesome friendly supportive cool and amazing author, then the little basset hound–the charming familiar, then the other characters who are written rly well. my fav books r the dark ones. but after reading one heartbreaking story after another, this book with its light vibe feels like fresh air.
lets have an honest moment here: for the first few pages i rly thought i'd dislike this book.
but then i continue reading and i have no idea when the 'lets give it a chance' turns into a genuine 'i have to see whats next' but i do now that now as i write this, i feel like its very cruel for the book to just end–whenever that second book is coming, i HAVE to read it.
this book, is a good book. so if you want a quick and enjoyable coming of age story with a mix of modernity and magic, you gotta read this. or else youre missing out on a good read fr.

This is an indie author, and I love that. I love to support them. However I will say this felt underwhelming. I was expecting way more action than we got. The ending was abrupt and felt wholly disconnected. There wasn't enough lead up. It's a great concept, and I was excited to learn more about certain topics that were very much hinted at. And had those things be explored I would give another star. This feels like a first or second draft where all the concepts are beginning to take shape, but there's not enough definition. More details could have been added, the book isn't long either, so there's easily room to expand on several ideas within it. Overall, I will be looking forward to the sequel to learn more about the MCs. I hope the author decides to explore her ideas more and explains quite a bit of the concepts briefly mentioned. Can't wait to learn more about the void, the magic system, and the backstory of the family and Oren.

This was such a heartwarming story 💜 Louie the Basset Hound Familiar absolutely stole my heart. He is a loyal companion, friend and protector to Ellie who is a young Witch looking to find her place in the world. Ellie is such a relatable character and deals with things that a lot of us do in our lives. She is kind and caring but also a bit stubborn and restless. There is a wide range of characters with all different personalities and they intermingle in a way that pulls on your heart strings. I loved following Ellie and Louie on their adventure and I really can't wait to see where they end up next. Go check out this book, I promise it's worth it!

As most people will read the blurb I don't need to go in depth with any of the story.
Ellie the FMC is coming into her own and is a great character but I have definitely fallen in love with Louie the basset hound. He definitely steals the show. If our dogs could talk what would they say? Louie definitely worms his way into your heart with his humour and antics.
This is a refreshing read and I will quite happily read more books from this author. Definitely looking forward to the next in the series.

Incredible, unexpected and beautifully written! This is the story of Ellie-Lynne and her faithful familiar Louie, an adorable basset hound. I loved how Ellie took control of her own destiny, despite the odds being stacked against her, and that, despite the stakes, the story feels like a warm hug. We feel Ellie’s growth and the emotional beats are really powerful, while the humour is top notch and well placed. I loved the relationship between Ellie and her familiar, and I also adored the prose. The twists and surprises were fantastic and I can’t wait for the second!

This book just made me feel all the emotions, happy, sad, excited. I had to get used to the change happening at some point, but it all made so much sense in the end!
I also absolutely fell in love with Louie! I can’t wait to read the next book(s) and see which adventures Ellie and her friends will go on next.

The story felt so real and so vivid! It is a very beautiful tale about a young witch named Ellie and her adorable familiar, Louie. The story felt so cozy and comfy, yet unpredictable and exciting, with a few plot twists that you won’t see coming! This is a perfect read for a nice soft blanket and a cup of tea, it feels like a cozy ‘90s witchy movie or Miyazaki movie in book form. Definitely worth reading! I can’t wait for the other books!

This book was beautifully crafted, and I can’t wait for the second part! It masterfully explores family dynamics, dreams, hopes, secrets, and so much more. A truly captivating read! If you love stories infused with magic, this one is a must-read.

A coming of age, NA fantasy of a young witch and her Familiar(soul companion) leaving home and adventuring the big world. With a twist you won’t see coming, a refreshing magic system/community, and banter. Such a good, quick, and fun time.

read. There was just something about it that really carried
the story along.

characters to the story such as the very supportive father,
the strange and secretive mother, and a very demanding
grandmother. We learn about their traditions and the
magic system of this world.
Picture this: It's your 14* birthday party, celebrating being
born a witch, when suddenly your familiar falls out of the
sky and crash-lands straight into your cake. That was how
Ellie and Louie (Ellie's familiar) first met and thus began
their life-long bond.
We get to watch Ellie grow up while learning to be a witch,
and share her journey into self-discovery after she

Review : Loved this book from the very first chapter! The Becoming and Unveiling Ceremony, where Ellie’s powers and her adorable basset hound familiar are introduced, had me hooked right away. I couldn’t stop reading (and didn’t, lol 🤭)!
The first part of the book focuses on Ellie’s life at home with her disapproving mother, demanding grandmother and supportive father. Though Ellie lives a “boring” small-town life, the story explores real-life themes of tradition, obligation and expectation, all given a unique twist through the lens of witchcraft and the role of familiars.
The second part of the book follows Ellie’s journey on the road, filled with beautifully depicted settings, rich character development and a heartfelt coming-of-age story (even for Louie! 🫣). Confronted with city life, themselves, and each other, we watch them struggle and grow.
Almost the entire book is written from Ellie’s point of view, except for one chapter each from Kimberly (her mom, chapter 4) and Elijah (her dad, chapter 9), which was a fun and refreshing change. It added depth and helped set up some plot gaps. The only thing that bothered me in Ellie’s POV was that whenever she referred to her parents, their actual names were always used. Never “mom” or “dad” which felt a bit strange and distanced while reading.
The big cliffhanger at the end has me invested to read the next book(s). I’m absolutly hooked to see what adventure Ellie and Loui will go on next! 👱🏻♀️🐶

The moment I picked up this eARC. I couldn’t put it down. Loved each moment of it. There’s something so “magical” about it. I can’t put it into words really. You gotta read it to feel it. I enjoyed it so much.
Imagine if when you needed to focus you’d get a spoonful of it from some place. Imagine that for a second. I envied Ellie in this book to be honest. My writer self would be so grateful for a spoonful of Focus that’s for sure. Ps: I’ll be getting in touch with the author of this book to see how much a cup of Focus goes for. I’ll be needing it in 2025.
Ellie-Lynne knows what she wants and is not afraid to say or ask for it. From the very start, you can tell that she’s going to be a very interesting character. But I think she fears Mee-Maw (Pamela) more. I wanna be in Mee-Maw’s good graces for that matter 😂. She’s so annoying and she passed her very unkind manners to her daughter, Kimberly. Ugh!
I like a good “Chosen One” story. Magic? Sign me up! Sassy witch? A prophecy? Sign me up! I had a feeling I’d love Ellie and she didn’t disappoint.
The Becoming Ceremony, a little witch being prepped for her turn to become. She’s begrudged by how most of the women in the matriarch are treating her but she’s there for it nonetheless. There’s a Void that gifts them with powers. So cool! I immediately didn’t like Kevin. He sounded like he was up to no good. Wanted to throttle him. The magical descriptions in this book are so vivid. They give you goosies. Loved them so much.
OMG! The moment Ellie was approached by her Familiar, Louie, a cute brown hound, I clasped my hands in glee. So cute! And it’s talks, OH MY! The surrounding, setting, ambience, atmosphere in this book is soothing. It’s magnificent as it is lovely. Ellie’s dad, Elijah? God bless the sweet man, I swear it! My, my, my!
Want to know who else we don’t like? Kimberly. Why? Because she’s a big meanie to sweet ol’ Louie. Who even does that? Hating on a dog? But he’s so sweet! 🥹 I kept my fingers crossed the entire time hoping that Kimberly gets to eat her words and bad behavior towards Louie. Okay, maybe I understand where she was coming from but it wasn’t Louie’s fault. Come on!
The cliffhanger at the end of Chapter 14 made me giggle and kick my feet in the air! Couldn’t wipe the grin off my face even if you tried. My goodnesssssss-uh!!! Louieeeeeee!!! 🤭🤲😂🗣️CHOKEHOLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
The language used by the author makes you find yourself with a wide warm grin on your face as you read her book. I won’t spoil it for you though. I’m gonna need you to go get this book.
