From averting the crisis of his noble family to setting his nation of monsters on the right track, Liam’s journey has had its fair share of ups and downs, but it’s all proved to be very worthwhile. His wealth of experience has begun to inspire the awe and respect of the surrounding nations, and it even has his father knocking on his doorstep with a certain curious request! Each day in the nation of monsters passes peacefully and vibrantly thanks to their powerful king and his ingenious magic inventions. However, such power can sometimes bring unforeseen consequences. When a sudden earthshaking disaster strikes the land one night, can Liam rely on his pool of knowledge and experience to protect his citizens?
I feel like the introduction of the third dragon was rushed. She just felt to the ground from within a meteorite? That just bad writing. There was not really a reason for her just to make an appearance. The second dragon antics are getting annoying. The first dragon seems to be doing all the work. With so many new females in Liam's circle...the teammates have Bern forgotten. I don't see the need for them at all. Scarlet who is a princess has been treated as a prime minister not a future queen. There also hasn't been mentioned how old Liam is.
Yup this is it for me, dropping the series. It started so good and now is just a caricature of every single lame manga/anime/light novel trope. Also the new dragon who i can't care to learn the name is just an incredibly annoying character. Also they repeat the cake analogy used on Vol 4 but they act as they have never heard from it before, need an editor? Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!
The lack of romance is part of what is holding this story back to the distortion of mine. The rest is how over the top is the protagonist's power level. Instead there should be more characters that support him in topics where he is weak. His weaknesses are established but his opposition does nothing to capitalize on it. He is supposed to marry a certain member of royalty but she seems more to be an eternal cheerleader instead of being a partner that supports him in areas where he is weak... like anything separate from magic.
The book is a fun read, but that is mostly because I enjoy the genre. Hence it gets 3/5 stars from me. The story just seems lacking in the effort to win over readers that are new to the genre or already fans of other genres. Maybe if future books added in additional subgenres like romance, mystery, & others that would be different but I am far from an expert.
