Rate this book
Beckett Fields has dreamed of becoming a park ranger for as long as he can remember, and now he’s finally got his shot. After losing his dream job a few years ago thanks to an ex-girlfriend, he’s determined not to let anything—or anyone—stand in his way. But on the day of his long-awaited interview, a chance encounter with a fiery blonde at the park threatens to derail his plans once again, and Beckett knows exactly who to blame.

Millie Keaton loves her small-town life. She’s got her sister nearby, a job at the local floral shop, close friends, and her art to keep her busy. Her only her lack of a love life and the raccoon that’s taken up residence in her house. To solve one of those problems, Millie plans a covert mission to release the unwanted raccoon back into the wild. It’s going well—until she’s caught in the act by a hot park worker who wasn’t supposed to be there...but maybe he can solve her other problem.

When Beckett and Millie’s paths cross, sparks fly and tempers flare. But as misunderstandings pile up, they’re forced to confront more than just unruly wildlife. Can they see past their differences and find a way forward, or will their chance encounter lead them both off course?

3.5 rounded up

Parts of this book were funny. I did like both the MCs. Parts of the book were just too crass humor wise for me- hence rounded up for actual rating

This would probably be a 4/5 spice level.

So many grammatical errors. Even the same sentence written back to back. I think this is AI.

Okay this was a fun read. 🤣
What happens when a girl just trying to return a raccoon that broke into her house back into the wild...a park mind you, and gets caught by the park manager...resulting in her getting "arrested" than escaping, and running back into the park manager who citizen arrested her....to get once again arrested again....for real this time.

You get one heck of a funny, angsty, banter filled mixed with flirting story.
That's what you get. 😆

Beckett, the park manager, is working on getting his dream job as park ranger in Canada. And when he runs into Millie, things get a little bumpy in that plan.
I loved his character, even though at times I got frustrated with his hot and cold attitude, but I understood it. He was hurt by an ex.
It was actually kinda nice seeing the mmc being the one struggling with relationship issues.

And Millie, oh gosh that girl is the life of the party honestly.
Loved her no filter type attitude.
And she loved and cared for those around her so much. Including wildlife. Even raccoons who ruin her things when it gets trapped in her sunroom.

Following these two going through community service was fun to say the least.
Pretending to hate each other...meanwhile can't stop thinking about one another.

And when Millie realizes what it all cost Beckett...I absolutely loved what she did.
And it made my heart happy for Beck because he's never had that before. Which made my heart sad for him.

I simply enjoyed this book, the characters, the raccoon that brought the characters together. And while it was a very slow burn...it was worth it in the end.

Ok grumpy sunshine !
Who knew two sister could be so close as well two best friends. This follows the lives of sisters Millie and Rose , as well Beckett and Weston. Would have known one rest and 4 people could change your life ? It always the things you don’t see coming that end up being the best decisions you make. We are only capable of the love that we accept. So if you’re gonna love someone make sure they are truly worth it. You’re worthy of love let just say that. Read to journey the journey of these 4 people who were once strangers and what is to come!

This was such a cute book. Love these two so much. Millie and Beckett definitely have chemistry. I bought this book at a book fest, without knowing too much about it and it did not disappoint.

Beck had no idea his entire world was going to be flipped upside down. But Millie came in and changed it for sure.

Millie’s plan to release a raccoon into the wild is how she gets caught red handed by Beck. This definitely was a huge swing on both of their lives.

I don’t wanna go to much into detail but I loved the interaction between each of them and how the story ended !
