The next prophesied Calamity was one of Civil War.
Even without the presence of seditious groups such as the Order of Extinction and the Followers of Calamities undermining the unity of the world, the many disparate Kingdoms were barely cooperative at best.
Meanwhile, Sungchul becomes increasingly exposed to the legends of the ancient dungeons hidden away by the Lesser Gods which held the key to immortality.
With the many factions hell bent on power, it seems all but inevitable that these long-forgotten Dungeons of the Gods return to the forefront of the world
The series starts off with the MC being world leadingly strong. You would think that would leave little room for growth with a progression fantasy novel. You would be just as wrong as I was. In book 5, the character continues to explore new aspects and paths to strength he had never been able to achieve in his life prior. The storywriting continues to be top notch coupled with an epic narrator to make a solid choice for entertainment.
A lot of useless drama before the apocalypse. I hated the stupidity of the actors. Minor kings sacrificed their own people for boons in wars that they could not win instead of just taking an honory title like viceroy and go on with their lives as before. Again another bloodthirsty genocidal enemy showed up and our protagonist did not use his powers more proactively. What use is it to have the powers of a god and not act accordingly against threats?
