I’m not sure if I’m just a sucker for dogs (I totally am), but one of my favorite parts of the book was definitely the animal companion. Kevin was absolutely adorable and hilarious—he brought such a fun, lighthearted energy to the story, and I couldn’t get enough of him.

As for Taschen, you might expect him to be your typical badass male character (which, don’t get me wrong, he totally is), but what really stood out to me was how expressive and honest he was with Sephie. He wasn’t afraid to show his emotions or be vulnerable, and that’s one of the things I love most about male leads. His openness really made his character feel more real and relatable.

The entire book was action-packed and full of suspense, keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was honestly surprised by how much darker it got than I expected, but that’s part of what made it so engaging. The unexpected twists kept me hooked until the very last page.

And of course, I absolutely loved how Sephie and Taschen got their happy ending. After everything they went through, seeing them find happiness together was the perfect conclusion to their journey.

Absolutely Awesome Addition to Series
Samantha Wilde certainly knows how to write gripping romantic suspense stories. Tashen and Sephie’s story is a page turner that hits all the marks. Sephie need protection after exposing what happened to her and other childhood stars. She escaped, but others didn’t. Now she is in danger and Tashen has been tasked with getting her somewhere safe until this blows over. She trusts him. He is capable and could probably take down ten men. Protection is not her concern. Falling for a guy like him is the problem. Because as attractive and nice as her bodyguard is, he will never know the real her. No one will. She cannot keep anyone close to her. Tashen has a problem. He needs to keep his head and hands as far away from Sephie as he can if he wanted to get through this job. Their attraction and chemistry makes it impossible though. This is a well written thrilling romance suspense with captivating chemistry, emotion, action, danger and suspense. Tashen is a protective alpha male while Sephie is a strong female. The two are meant for each other. Sephie’s dog, Kevin, is so cute too. Love how all the members of Backcountry Protection Services and their spouses reappear in each book in the series. Now I'm ntrigued to read Brick’s story next.

Her overprotective Bodyguard...BackCountry Protectin Agency is back at it again, this time a starlet heroine needs protection. I do have to say that Taschen absolutely stole my heart with his romantic sweat nature yet dangerous vibe add a bit of overprotectiveness and unyielding determination with a smile that will melt anyone with a pulse. This story is full of Deceit, non-stop action, betrayal and loss. I do have to say there is a bit of human trafficking and horrific implications that can be triggers. Sephie tried to leave her past behind her until a bombshell was thrown at her, forcing her to seek retribution, she never expected to run for her life. Taschen whisks Sephie away from killers after her, together they try to unravel truths of past and present dangers, avenge her friends all while fighting an attraction so strong that could affect how their livelihood. Sweet Sephie and Taschen journey is full of dodging bullets, secrets, hidden agendas and unhuman scum. Frenchie Kevin stole my heart with his adorable cuteness. I had so much fun catching up with the crew, to read how well Zain and Dana were doing, catching up with Ivy and Rami, August and Gigi, and Toth and Savannah parenthood. They guys always make me laugh with their banter. I love this series; it always Keeps me on edge of seat. I can’t wait to read next book in series.

His unwavering commitment to Sephie's safety is both professional and deeply personal, making his character complex and interesting.
Sephie's is reeling from the suicide of her best friend and co-star. She is bravely exposing the dark side of the entertainment industry. She is defiant and in danger, which is where Taschen comes in. Their relationship is built on trust and attraction while we also get elements of suspense and intrigue. We learn about their individual histories which reveal painful wounds that influence their present relationships. They are both dealing with internal conflict, as well as external threats.
This book is perfect for anyone who appreciates romance infused with suspense and depth.

This is the first time I’ve read Samantha’s work. Taschen is a quick read full of action. I particularly loved how sensitive Taschen is to Sephie’s situation. Even though she’s a former child star, Taschen treats the threats against her and her fears as legitimate concerns. While Taschen is former military, now part of Backcountry Protection Services with his best friends, and very much a protective hero, Sephie is also a strong woman. In spite of the tragic history that brings them together, Sephie proves herself willing to sacrifice for those she loves.

First book from this author and I was not disappointed and now I am going back to the previous books written to know more about the characters mentioned. It is a standalone, but the characters, story, the flow, action, suspense….I just found another author that I will be devouring her books.
Taschen, a private bodyguard has an assignment, Seraphina aka Sephie, a famous teen actor who has been out of Hollywood for awhile. She just lost her BF and concludes it’s because of what they went through as teen actresses. She doesn’t want to stay silent anymore but someone wants to silence her….and Taschen is hired to protect her as they try to figure out who wants her dead.
Great read with suspense, surprises, twists and turns, steam and amazing characters. I couldn’t put this read down, the flow of the story didn’t skip a beat and I loved the no drama between them, no misunderstandings and the chemistry.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could. Suspenseful, action packed and full of romance and that team spirit I just love.

This was about Sephie an ex child star who blew the lid after her co start was killed, and she needed protection after they tried to kill her. Back Country Protection are called in and Taschen is assigned her Protector.

Sephie and Taschen are such an amazing couple. Initially star struck, Taschen is taken by the attraction for Sephie but it soon turns to much more. Their connection definitely shines through and he would do anything for her.

I loved the team and the addition of Kevin helps the relationship as they both love dogs.

Full of suspense, drama, danger and a seriously great plot, I couldn't put it down. Pairing that with a beautiful romantic storyline as this author couldn't miss. So easy to read and written so well. I truly loved it!

Wow, this book grabs you right from the start. This is the fourth book in the series and the second one I have had the pleasure to read and I loved it. Seraphina is under the protection of Taschen but her friend's recent death is not as it seems and an attack at the funeral proves that more is going on. As they unravel the mystery, disgusting secrets are revealed that cause more pain when another person close to Seraphina is attacked. With the chemistry between Sophie and Taschen being strong they both fight it and fail. Determined to protect her until his last breath, an explosion and a kidnapping bring everyone together for a dangerous rescue. Full of suspense, action and drama, this book has everything you need and more for a cozy day of reading and be prepared to be left on the edge of your seat as you read it.

This is the first book from the series that I have read and I was glued to the story from start to finish. I enjoyed the connection and chemistry between Sephie and Taschen, liked the support and respect that was given and shown and I really liked just how well they worked together. I enjoyed not seeing some things coming, how things were unveiled as you were reading and I thought it all worked and had a good flow. It was nice to get to know members of Backcountry Protection Service and seeing how well they worked together and just how far they would go to protect their clients and those around them. I want to read more from this series now. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.

This book starts off right away with the action and doesn't stop all the way through. I have loved every book in the series, but this one has me in a chock hold the mystery, suspense and all-round storyline was amazing. Samantha Wilde definitely knows how to write a suspense filled story with an alpha male that will go to the ends of the earth to protect his love. Sephie was a child star who has been through some emotional and physical trauma that has stuck with her. When she defends a friend's reputation it brings down deadly consequences. Taschen is the man sent to protect her, and he is taken by her right from the start, she was not what he was expecting. the sweet moments and the steam. It's a heartwarming story full of action. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Book 4 in the series features Taschen. He’s played a role in the previous 3 books since he’s been a member of the Backcountry Protection Agency from the start.

Following the formula of these books, he protects a woman in trouble and then they have a relationship with a HEA of love, marriage and kids.

The woman is Sephie, a former child actress who has left the business. But when her best friend dies suspiciously, Sephie does a social media LIVE naming names about the child sexual abuse she endured while working on a TV Show.

That’s the twist in this book and what kept it interesting. Otherwise it’s formulaic and a mindless read. Something I needed while commuting to work this week.

My final rating is 3.5⭐️ and it’s because of the interesting child in Hollywood aspect of the story.

The first few chapters were great. Sadly the insta lust killed the seriousness of the story regarding Sephie’s safety for me. Moved way too quickly.

I really liked Kevin. The banter around him was good and I think it should have stayed that way for a bit longer.

Taschen was supposed to be this badass bodyguard, but almost immediately turned into a cinnamon roll slash serious commitment teddy bear that just did not fit in my eyes.

I skimmed a lot as I was more into the actual serious story vs the romance.

I would like to thank the author for the opportunity to receive an advanced reading copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

WOW! Such a good story! Great plot! Amazing action! Fiery chemistry.

I totally fell in love with Taschen!! He's the perfect protective alpha and totally drawn to Seraphina. She is a beautifully strong FMC, independent and determined. A total Bad@$$ chick you want fighting for you, which makes sense why Taschen was head over heels to do anything to save her.

Her tragic back story keeps the reader gripped and invested in her finding justice. Samantha sucks you into Sera's losses, writing engaging and passionate descriptions that brought me right there in every gun chase, and murder discovery. I couldn't put the book down and didn't want it to end.

I already can't wait for the next Backcountry book! I may go back to the beginning and re read while I wait.

Another wild ride from Samantha. It takes a special author to pen a story that will keep me on the edge of my seat and Samantha does that with every single book she writes. This one being no different. Love the camaraderie between the guys and I did laugh out loud at some of their antics. There is no slowing down and I kept reading “just one more chapter”. Taschen and Sephie’s relationship was electric and so darn cute. Action, suspense, and romance all packed into this story – what more could you ask for?

Taschen is the best one yet of this great series, Chosen Few. I loved how protective and loving Taschen was toward Sephie after the ordeal she lived through as a child. Now the danger is of a permanent kind toward her and Taschen vows not to let that happen. I HATE exploitation of women and children and Taschen is of a like mind. I love how this resolved. and that Taschen finds what he needs in the strong woman that Sephie has become. I received an ARC of Taschen and am voluntarily writing this honest review.

Samantha has such a way with writing a story that will keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat the entire time. This was a fast paced, action filled story. When reading her books you feel as if you are there apart of everything that’s going on. Taschen is swoon worthy. The protectiveness and love he feels towards Sephie is so hot 🥵 Sephie is so strong and so relatable. I felt so connected to her! The chemistry between Taschen and Sephie is off the charts. This one definitely made me cry and yell and swoon all at once.

Taschen was another great addition to the Chosen Few series. Taschen and Sephie’s story was full of amazing characters and an action-packed, intense storyline full of mystery, suspense, twists and turns, and explosive chemistry. And Kevin, let’s not forget him. Perfect addition to add some fun and happy energy to the book. Taschen was the perfect alpha protector who was not afraid to show emotions and being vulnerable and I loved Sephie’s strength and determination. These two made a great couple. This book was a gripping read, easy to get lost in from beginning to end.

STOP, whatever you are reading and put this in your hands! Hold on for a wonderfully spun story of tragedy and love. This was a very delicate tale that was exciting and kept my attention and awe throughout the pages. It was a sweet toasty marshmallow of a man and a strong sassy woman who love when it seems impossible. Taschen and Sephie find their sense of belonging with each other. I loved them and I was excited at the fountain

This bodyguard romance was HOT!

All Seraphina (Sephie) wants is to get back at the people that are to blame for what happened to her best friend. When people begin to find out she has to hire a bodyguard because they are threatening her life.

In comes Taschen. He is the biggest protector I have ever read about. He is prepared to do anything to make sure they are both okay.

I cannot wait to go back and read through the prior books in this series.

I really liked how Taschen and Seraphina aka Sephie stand up for each other and compromise as well, although at times I agree with Taschen's thought of keeping her hidden from the world as the danger is very real and gets up close and personal a few times. With every piece of information they uncover what is the truth becomes worse and you go through some crazy emotions, but also getting some great spice and romance.

This is the fourth book in the Chosen Few series. Seraphina’s life is in danger. Taschen works for a security agency and is hired to protect her. There’s non-stop action through the story and so much suspense and danger. The plot was very entertaining and the heat between the characters was flammable! An awesome story!

I haven't read any of the other books in this series so this is an introduction for me to the characters and Samantha Wilde made it easy for me to appreciate them. The story had plenty happening from the beginning with the developing story holding my attention the entire book.
