This left me wondering if there was an age difference between Cameron and Anissa. Neither was looking for the other one. The connection that formed naturally occurred.
I love the fact how Laquana shows us via Cameron how we allow things we have no control over to control our lives. Anissa was just what the doctor ordered.
Hmmm, “On My Command (Alpha Third Battalion - Book 1)” as a standalone military officer navigating his Army career through the ranks with personal challenges which adversely affect his social & romantic life. This book was a great read. However, Lieutenant Anissa James & Captain Cameron Means as a couple after both established they are functioning trauma bond agents, ABSOLUTELY nonsensical🥴‼️ An apology (from Cameron) was warranted, even his acknowledgment he still harbors abandonment issues specifically his unresolved mommy issues. Cool, that’s a reasonable transition, but love or worse marriage 🤔😮🤭⁉️Why⁉️WITH⁉️Meanwhile, seek therapy, become whole emotionally without triggers, mutually agree to date exclusively while establishing necessary career boundaries & a healthy dating regiment for six months to a year. Umm, if you say so Ms. Brumfield 🤷🏾♀️🤨⁉️Yea, Carmeron’s an Officer but a gentleman & fiancée in training‼️
Cap Cameron Means was a ranking officer in the US Army, commanding soldiers on a daily but really dead and angry about life until one evening he met Lt. Anissa James in Vegas and knew he'd never be the same. They actually reconnected on base, started a relationship, had a falling out and briefly separated until a near death experience drew them back together. They got their HEA! Story had a slow burn in the beginning, but it ended well!
This was my first read by this author, and it was so “relaxing”. The MMC and the FMC were so relatable and I loved them. The book is about a guy not looking for a girl, and a girl healing from heartbreak. The backdrop of military life made the story that much more interesting.
If you haven’t already, definitely give this author and this series a chance, you won’t regret it.
Anissa and Cameron were meant for each other. Their chemistry was immediate and could be felt off the pages. I loved that Cameron was tuned in with her in Vegas and made the right decision for them that night. When they came back together, I loved every moment of it. I hated how Cameron treated Anissa after the training exercise, but that didn't stop Anissa from being by his side during his time of need. I loved this book down and will continue to read this authors work.
Not going to lie this story was so hard for me to read it took me some time because every time I picked it up to read I put it down after one sentence. Felt like it went into super detail about things that I felt added nothing to the story and him going into a coma came out of left field lol
I usually stay away from military themed love stories. I find them so unrelatable but I’m glad I read this. Cap impressed me in Vegas but soon pissed me off. Anissa was a tough cookie though and a great catch.
Great read a d I loved that they were young but in the services with high ranks! Life was challenging for both, but it was truly meant for Cameron and Anissa to be together! I hope to read more about them!
I did enjoy this book. I felt there were some gaps in transitions from a few events to the next but I chalk that up to length. I am new to this author but am looking forward to reading another book by her. It was a quick feel good story and I did enjoy it.
This was such a a wonderful story. I don’t believe we know how many kids and adults have abandonment issues. Love was needed by Cameron and Anissa provided it for him.
Omg!!! This was so cute. I love me a good military story. You can run these two back if you like. Cap and LT just messed so well, and I’m glad they were able to overcome everything.
