Vampire's Fate is a suspenseful prequel in The Elements of Blood and Fate paranormal vampire romance series. It has intelligent, sexy, driven, strong heroines, sexy bad boys, and of course chilling horror. Isabelle Aster will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I loved the character's banter in this book. It was unexpected and a bit sassy. I don't always love Insta-love, but it worked in this one as it is a short read, so I think that's why it worked so well.
If you want a short read, something that you can read in one sitting, then this would be a great read for you.
This novella will take you on a roller-coaster of a ride, and it's a bit of a wild one. I loved it and I am sure you will enjoy it just as much as I did. It has a perfect balance of joy, love, screams, questions, and laughter.
"Vampire's Fate," the prequel novella to The Elements of Blood and Fate, delivers a thrilling, fast-paced mix of dark fantasy and paranormal romance. Doctoral candidate Isla Patterson is a non-believer researching Irish myths on the original vampire clan, the Dearg Dur. Her world is upended when she meets the magnetic vampire Declan, who initially pretends to need her expertise. After a cryptic warning from another vampire, Rune, Isla is quickly forced to abandon her skepticism when Declan reveals his true nature. The novella is packed with shocking twists, family secrets, and murders, but the undeniable and sizzling chemistry between Isla and Declan is the main draw. Their unexpected banter keeps the energy high, even as the plot races "zero to sixty" in a short amount of time. This isn't a truly dark read, but a thoroughly enjoyable one that successfully balances suspense and romance. As a fan of the human/vampire trope, I loved it. The historical aspect of the story was a great addition. Highly recommended for a quick, steamy read between longer books. The ending will leave you eager for the rest of the series!
A prequel novella where dark fantasy and romance come together. Isla and Aisling, her bestie and flatmate, are teamed together to do research for their doctorate on folklore and myths. Snooping around Dun Na Farraige, she encounters Rune, a vampire unbeknownst to her, who warns her 'be careful what you wish for". Declan, sired by Aiden, pretending to be in need of her expertise, is her ticket to the story or a myth of the Dearg Dur, the original Irish vampire clan, which is their main research. Isla is a non believer of the paranormal, but she had to come around quite fast when Declan reveals he true nature. Shocking family truths, murders, unexpected twists and the heated attraction between Isla and Declan will keep you turning the pages, but the end leaves a number of questions which I assume will be resolved as the series continues, this being a prequel. Well done on your debut Isabelle. I received a complimentary copy from the author and leave this review voluntary Thank you.
I found this author by chance and the blurb intrigued me. I absolutely love this cover.
It flowed well and I enjoyed the history aspect and the world building. The main characters were great with personalities that worked well together, and had emotions to situations which were believable and understandable. I did really like Michael and Aisling. Aisling intrigues me after the "taffy" wine.
Overall, a great read and I would happily continue the series.

I like human/vampire tropes. The main characters' banter was unexpected. It did seem to go zero to 60 in no time flat, in spots, but it was a short read, so I can't complain. I would recommend this for a short read in between the longer books and series.
This tale will take you for a ride, a ride if you are like me will throughly enjoy. It was a balance of joy, screams, questioning and laughing. This will be a bookshelf must read for me again.
When it comes to vampire/human relationships I tend to go all in. This was a short read that I could pick up and put down with ease and never have to go back a few pages to see what was going on. This was not dark at all in my opinion. One thing I really liked was the history part of the story. If you like vampire/human relationships then give Vampire’s Fate a go. If you prefer dark this isn’t really dark.
Personally I found I connected with the side characters more than the main two, there's no problem with the two main characters, they are great, just that others appealed more.
