A volte mi chiedo perché leggo certi libri.

This really is more a pamphlet than a book and I've read much more in-depth guides to Shabbos observance that offered more concrete guidance as well as other books that were more inspiring about the deeper meanings of the Sabbath. This might be a good read for someone completely new to Sabbath observance that doesn't want to become overwhelmed.

Deceptively simple, due to its concise and brief format, but an insightful exploration of the meaning of Shabbat, seamlessly blending halacha and philosophy. A bit dated in places, but generally still worthwhile.

Classic on the 39 types of work prohibited on the Sabbath as prescribed by the Rabbinic authorities. This book has held up to the test of time.
