Book two in the Winters saga picks up about a month after the events in book one. Rebecca is still leading the wolf pack as alpha, but she has decided to put a hold on her romance issues until she can figure out a way to get her twin sister, Savannah, free from the vampires. Savannah is under the influence of the vampires, which include her previously-assumed dead father, and she is gradually going down a darker path. Their brother, Hunter, is trying to catch up learning the magic that is his birthright so he can help both his sisters. The Winters siblings are all unique and complex, with good and bad qualities. Their choices and the consequences of those choices, make this series very entertaining. This book wrapped up a few things from the first book, and introduced others. The characters are intense and unique and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Listen up, all romance genre lovers. Jami Brumfield is the next big name in romance, fantasy, and paranormal. Her books have it all. Her imagination knows no bounds and she manages to not only blend fact and fantasy effortlessly, but she also creates complex characters everyone can relate to that are so unique and unforgettable, each should have their own story. Books one and two of the Winters Saga are out and are amazing. If you've read both as I have (being a beta reader has its privileges!), then I know you're impatiently waiting for book three. It's possible that anyone could write a book, but not everyone can successfully tell a story that keeps readers coming back for more. That's a very special gift and one that Jami Brumfield shares with us all, thank goodness!

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Winters Family. Rebecca is the alpha werewolf and now Savannah is the vampire princess. Their family of witches was never meant to become part of the other supernatural races, or were they? Savannah is not coming to grips with her new life and reality yet. She’s miserable and feels as if the old Savvy died the day she was turned. While learning the ropes of being a vampire, she is met with some daunting tasks. She finds herself engaged to a vampire Prince all the while pining for another. It seems as if the Winter girls have a penchant for being in love with two men at the same time.

Rebecca is facing issues of her own. She’s trying to rebuild her weak pack of werewolves after the brutal assault that resulted in her being the lone survivor. She’s at constant battle with her inner Alpha aptly named Siren. She’s ridiculed for her involved in Celestia’s rise back to the throne. Add in the fact that while she’s sworn off the two men in her life, she knows who she belongs with. She vows to not to get involved in a relationship until she can cure Savvy. Yet, when she faces a pack challenge to her position, she lets her inner wolf rise. As the growing number of people she has to protect skyrockets, she knows she has to be the alpha that she’s destined to be, but is she up for that challenge?

While not featured as in the first book as much, Hunter has a solid appearance in this book. He’s obsessed with unlocking their spellbound witch magic to save Savvy. He’s bound and determined to become the witch he was meant to be and to save his sisters from their new supernatural infections. Yet, Hunter bites off more than he can chew when a mysterious stranger appears with the so called answer to all his problems.

This series keeps on getting better and better. I particularly loved the mingling of all of the Winters siblings in this story. Each of them has a story to tell about their current life and I greatly enjoyed riding along with them in this book. I will say VPR is a little darker in the sense that the truth about their conception and family is brought to light. Their birth unto this world was far from natural. The world building continues to amaze me. Brumfield has a knack for adding a new layer upon the Winters supernatural world. VPR takes the Winters family saga and twists it on its head. As a reader you feel their pain and grow with them throughout their journey. I greatly recommend this book and am anticipating the release of the Fire Master Rising story featuring Hunter later this year.

This is the second book I read by Jami Brumfield and I am really impressed. I was really happy to find out that all the characters from the LONE WOLF RISING are included in this book. What a treat!! In this volume the author introduced some new characters that make the story even more complicated and at the same time more intriguing.

Rebecca is still leading and protecting the wolf pack, but now her twin sister Savannah has a major part in this volume. The author has done and great job providing the complicated view of the Winters family. Rebecca is a wolf, Savannah is a vampire and their brother Hunter possesses magic powers that enable him to help Savannah and Rebecca out of difficult situations. What a cocktail mix of abilities?

The book is filled with incredible twists and turns that grabs your attention and does not let go until you turn the last page. The author did a great job introducing the unique characteristics of each person in the story and the way they interacted with each other. I found them all to be extremely interesting and likable.

I found excitement and thrill in this book just as I had in the Lone Wolf Rising. Jami Brumfield is a wonderful writer with a unique quality that pulls the reader into the pages and keeps them engaged until the very end. I can’t wait for the next volume to fallow Rebecca, Savannah and their brother Hunter to more exciting adventures.

I enjoyed the book and I will gladly recommend it to all my friends. To all that love paranormal, romance, thrill, mystery and excitement this is a book you must read. Great job Jami Brumfield, I am a fan.

The second book in the series takes place a month after the first one ends. Savannah is now a Vampire Princess and must follow the rules of a woman who she isn't sure she can trust. Along with a whole lot of anger towards her family members and her despair things aren't looking good for her. Becca on the other hand is drowning in guilt, and still trying to protect her new pack, and deal with her new relationship problems. These two need to learn how to work together before it is much too late.

This one just wasn't for me. I really tried to like it, but the story just got boring rather quickly. And I was annoyed with how Savvy acted, and just frustrated with the whole thing. I also felt after about 50% of the book it started to just skip over things, and more drama was happening that didn't make sense, or seemed to come out of no where.
So, overall this just wasn't for me. I didn't really care for it.

WOW Jami you have done it again! A great sequel to THE LONE WOLF RISING

Becca's she wolf has a name in this book, Siren. This was great as it reinforces that their is another being or spirit taking up residence in Becca's mind. I like how they were able to break the spell that bound then of their witchy powers. this was because i find that it allowed Hunter, being a witch, to be more involved with the plot, plus we were able to experience more how he felt about his sisters being a vampire and a werewolf. Hunter is an interesting character because it seems he doesn't accept or like how his sisters have become. this is because he is hell bent of finding a cure which Becca and Savvy don't even want.

Hunter and Natalia are cute together. though the friend ship brewing between him and the dream weaver is exciting.

Becca is my favourite character by far. Her character has developed so much from THE LONE WOLF RISING. she has become a strong, loyal leader who doesnt back down and takes no crap form no one. Even when the pack are against her and want her to cut ties with her sister because she is a vampire she doesn't back down. She has hope that her sister will return to them. she will do anything for her pack and for her family. she has just become this bad ass alpha female. the moment for me was when she attacked Devon using her alpha and witchy powers after she thought Gabriel was dead. that was awesome!!One of my favourite scenes of Becca demonstrating her alpha skills. total girl power!

Lucky annoyed me in this book. He still sorta has feeling for Becca but now also like Savvy but he won't commit to her. he won't commit to anything really. (yeah i get that Savvy is engaged to some ancient vampire but still if he likes her he should fight for her like how Gabriel fought for Becca's love)

The addition to the family, the 2 witchy sister, was a surprise. I don't know if Becca and Savvy can trust them though. I don't think they should trust their father as well. I feel like he is lying her hiding something.

the ending was a let down for me. to me i felt that it was incomplete. i didn't feel like an ending, it was more like an ending for a chapter.

the dimension with the dragon shifters and the Rebecca double was kind of creepy. I cant imagine seeing a double of yourself. though i though it was a good idea, literally it just made Becca's life more complicated than it already is.

YAY!! She chose Gabriel!! they are such a cute couple. by the end they couldn't keep their hands off each other!! AWW!

Overall though this was an amazing, fantasitcal awesome read!!! Jami you are amazing

This second book in the series had me never putting it down. I'm finally relieved that every one knows what their powers are and how they handle them. I think this second book has so much emotional stuff going on. We see Savvy who is learning to be a vampire and being torn from her family as well as having so much anger. I think it really shows us a new side of her and I like how she's dealing with things. There's also new characters in the book that I like, like Georgie, and savannah has some boy drama. Rebecca also finds herself and deep down finally allows herself to open up to some new things. :) the second book had me reading some pages again because they're some shocking new discoveries about supernaturals and it's literally universe shocking. Hehehe there's more about hunter in this book, which is great. He plays a huge role in the second book because he's looking for cures for both girls and makes some huge choices which will allow for the third book to take over on that. What is ironic is that hunter feels by making this huge decision he is helping the girls but doesn't know what he really is getting in to, and in the role Rebecca played earlier in finding out some universal mind blowing secrets she is helping fix some issues opposing hunters forces. The people hunter will be working with are the very people Rebecca is going against and we'll hope to see more in the third book. It's kinda awesome to see the whole drama play out as well as to get insight into what will happen in the third book because of the things hunter is going through in the second book. The author did in amazing job in creating a really juicy plot as well as having everyone kinda falling into each other problems because we see new secrets revealed.

P.S: this book was send to me free on amazon to be able to write a true review on how I felt about the book from Teen Critics Club.

Step aside all other paranormal writers, Jami Brumfield is on her way to the top. I was a fan of Lone Wolf Rising, but now an obsessed crazed stalker with Winters Saga 2. Weres' and vampires, and magic oh my....These groups usually don't get along, but what if they're siblings. Rebecca ,Savannah, and Hunter are trying to help each other, well more so Savannah since she seems the one more at harm with being a vampire. Not only is there adventure and love in this book, but the overall sense that family should help each other regardless of their differences. There are choices made that either the reader or the other characters may not agree with, but that's what makes this book unique....it doesn't follow the standard rules. Once again Ms. Brumfield you have left me speechless and looking for the right words to describe your awesomeism, if that's even a word. Can't wait until book 3 and will be first online to grab my copy.

Brumfield wove her magic again in this new installment in her winter saga series. After reading the first book in the series, LONE WOLF RISING, I loved the character of Rebecca, but in this one, I was more drawn to Savannah, who was a vampire. So here are two sisters, one a vampire and the other a were. Weres and vampires don’t usually get along, but Brumfield cleverly weaves the plot with these characters, which would otherwise make for an explosive mix, but somehow it never came to this. It was interesting to find out which of these two characters prevails in this unusual family dynamic. The Winters family have their work cut out for them. Is it Rebecca, with the alter ego of a were and the leader of her pack, or Savannah, a bona fide vampire, who gives in to no one? Great read!

Action packed!

Fast moving tale that's full of twists and turns in the plot. Jamie Brumfield has created an exciting paranormal universe where no one is quite what they seem at first and there's a new intrigue waiting in almost every chapter.

This was okay. Savannah was a bit whiny, not saying it wasn't warranted. I think her whole situation was horrible, but the grudge that she wanted to hold onto was a bit much, imo. After becoming undead and learning the rules that bound her sister, I was hoping to see the old Savvy push through. I had to keep reminding myself that she was a teenager. I like how the story is building but hate the hangers!

This second book of the Winters Saga was full of action, romance and twists! Again this book is OK for older teens. It doesn't have sexual content, but it does have physical feelings of a sexual nature that aren't explored further than kissing. The characters are in their late teens and early twenties (in body at least, though the immortal ones are much older). This book takes more concentration because of everything happening in it but it is a great read that keeps you thinking ahead. Every new character that comes in, for me, was like a new quilt piece, I try to figure out how they fit in the pattern and if they are right (good) or wrong (evil) for the work or someone I wanted to throw away as fast as possible. Great work to make me crazy over the characters like this!!

We discover how Savannah is handling the changes of becoming a vampire princess. She isn't happy with her sister and is determined to heap almost all the blame on her for her becoming one of the dead. The question you will find yourself asking is will she let her anger fuel her feelings causing her to become a darker Savannah, one that will never forgive? She has a lot of growth in this book. I found myself wanting to smack her upside the head a few times to help her along! Savannah makes a lot of discoveries, personal ones as well as familial ones. Learning to deal with all these changes is proving to be a huge challenge.

There are so many new developments I can't even begin!! Be prepared for new characters, stronger bonding between characters and inconceivable plot twists! People are coming out of the woodwork with their own agendas. No one knows what the others want, not really. Hunter hasn't given up finding a cure and that could get him in trouble. Rebecca is learning how to be alpha and is becoming a true leader. She is also making her own discoveries just as Savannah is. So many changes for both in such a short time with such a short learning curve has caused her to learn much faster.

There is so much more I want to type but I just can't bring myself to spoil this book for you. It is a wonderful 2nd book in the series. It left me wanting more. The writer addresses everything from the first book as well as adding a slew of new problems and setting up a ton of new issues for the 3rd book. I feel I have left much out of my review but I don't know if it is because their was just so much in this one little book or what! You just need to read it for yourself and see! It CAN be read alone I think without reading the first one and be able to follow it OK, but reading the first book would make reading this much easier. You wouldn't want to miss out on it anyway!!

This is the second book in the series and it is just as entertaining as the first. It takes up 4 weeks after the last book left off and Savannah is still adapting to being one of the undead. She is bitter and angry and desperately wants to hate Rebecca but isn't able to keep the hatred up for long. Rebecca, for her part, feels completely responsible for Savannah’s situation and at first, refuses to make a choice between Lucky and Gabriel… she wants to find a way to make Savannah human again first. Despite her intentions, Rebecca can’t stay away from her true destiny and she makes her decision during her 18th birthday party which is just full of surprises.

Despite not trusting him, Savannah gets a little closer to their father and learns more about her paternal family history. Although the book starts off detailing Savannah’s experiences and feelings about being a vampire princess, it takes many turns which will allow for several books in the Winters Saga. Whilst Savannah and Rebecca are not best friends, they do reach a stage where they can at least be civil to each other when in the same room. Maverick, their father, remains the ‘enemy’ to both of them as they hold him responsible for their mother’s death and several new characters are introduced, primarily Georgie, Devon and Becky. As well as the new characters, we are also introduced to new types of shifters.

Hunter, for his part, is learning about the art of magic and desperately wants to find a cure for the werewolf and vampire viruses. Fortunately, Savannah’s anger at her situation doesn’t extend to Hunter and he remains close to her. As a witch, grandmother is neutral which helps both Savannah and Rebecca and it is because of their love for her that they are able to share the same 18th birthday party. Whilst they are healing, their progress is slow but it is helped further along after Rebecca is kidnapped!

Two new werewolves are created and the next book will, I believe, explore Hunter’s journey. I have a feeling that his single mindedness determination to return both his sisters to their human states will lead him to a dark place and only Jami can decide if he keeps his sweet character. I love that Rebecca’s pack is made up from a rag tag group of supernatural beings as it gives this series a uniqueness that I haven’t found in other werewolf and vampire stories and I hope the series doesn’t finish with Hunter’s story.

*** I received a copy if this book as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review ***

Having read the 'Lone Wolf Rising', the first book in the Winters Saga Series, I wanted to read the second to see how the story carried on.

As in the first book, this book is written in the POVs of Rebecca, Savannah and Hunter. It's nice to get three different perspectives with so much going on, but I thought Savannah would be the main focus in 'Vampire Princess Rising' and I felt that Rebecca overshadowed her. It just didn't feel like Savannah was the main focus and as the book is her story, I was somewhat disappointed by this.

To be honest, I preferred 'Lone Wolf Rising' for it's storyline. Rebecca at least had several different things happening, several different challenges to face. Savannah, not so much.
Like Rebecca, she has to decide which man she wants to be with and she has a hard time deciding.
It just felt like there wasn't as much action in 'Vampire Princess Rising' and when there was, it was mostly focused on Rebecca.

There were several new characters introduced and the one that I found most intriguing was Georgie. I liked her supernatural powers and would love a more detailed account into who she is and where she came from, how she came to be who she is. I'd also like to see the same for Sundae - we get a little synopsis on her background and I felt sorry for her but also curious to know more.

I am looking forward to reading the next book as the overall storyline is really good. I also want to see how the author tells Hunter's story.

For this book, I'd give it a 3.5 Shamrock rating. It was good, it just didn't have that kick to it that I was hoping for.

This is an awesome continuation to a great trilogy! I really liked getting to know more about Savannah's situation with the Vampire's and was intrigued by the twists that Maverick (her father) introduced to the Winter family life. Rebecca makes her choice between Lucky and Gabriel and starts to fit well into the role of Alpha for the local wolf pack. Savannah is trying to accept her role as a Vampire Princess, but it's so hard to be royalty, especially of the paranormal kind when the Queen has your immortal life figured out for you. Hunter tries to unbind their witch powers, and with the help of Sundae he has a good chance of succeeding. A twist happens when an alternate world opens for the Winters family and the possibilities for good and bad emerge from it.
I am so hoping to hear more of the stories of the following characters: Becky, Miracle, Mystery, Sundae and their father Maverick and how this whole thing came together.

Vampire Princess Rising (Winters Saga Book 2) by Jami Brumfield was wonderful. I actually liked this book better then the first so this book picks up about a month after the other ends and life has changed for all the Winters children. Savvy is now a vampire princess who is angry at the world, Rebecca is the alpha werewolf who is taking over but feels she failed her sister, and there is Hunter who is a witch but is still spell bound. They also now have a father who they thought has been dead and don’t know whether to trust of not. This book has so much going on you have to read it just when you think you have it figured out something else happens and changes the direction. This is a 5 star book and I am so waiting for the next.

Great book!
I loved how the characters are growing and strengthening...
Gabe....
I do feel bad for Lucky...will he ever find some luck with love?
Hunter....why do you continue to find a cure if your sisters say they don't want it? If I went through some sort of change in my life and I accepted it and then someone took it away from me without my permission...I would not be happy...free will should not be taken
I think Hunter will be growing up a lot in this next book....lots to learn for that boy
I would like Lucky to meet someone who does not have a relationship with another man....Lucky is the walking love triangle starter

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down. I love how it picks right up from book one Lone Wolf Rising. Same characters except this was Savannah story. I love how Jami switches characters and brings them to life like in book one. The twists she puts into the book like alternate universes and doubles of the main characters made this book much more interesting. There is alot going on in it. Not going to give away any spoilers! But lets just say things get really steamy with Gave and Rebecca in this one.....

Another great book in the Winters Saga. Like the first, it is well written and full of action, with unexpected twists. From the title, however, I thought this book would be focused more on Savvy, but it still delved much into the story of Rebecca, as well. It's not a complaint. I enjoyed the continuing story of Rebecca and the developing story of Hunter. The only problem with the stories is that they should all be read in order, as there is not a definitive conclusion to either one. But, in any event, I am looking forward to Hunter's book when it is finally published.

I am really enjoying the Winter's family. I like to see real life situations in books. I believe Savannah's anger is misplaced and no one really sat down and talked about everything especially Rebecca. It seems everyone is allowing the outside world dictate family issues when they should be dealing with it instead of political allies. I was really disappointed with Savannah and her narrow mindedness. I thought for sure she would use her human life as an example of what could happen if you are oblivious. I can't wait to see what happens to Hunter.

I bought the first in the series as I can't stand to read out of order! I thought this one wasn't as good as the first in the winters saga but it was still entertaining. Any twilight fans will love it, I actually think it's better than the twilight saga. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a supernatural romance. Lots of politics and intrigue too.

Didn't care for this book as much as I did the first one. This is impart to the fact that there were too many layers. Yes it is good to have a book that challenges us out of the box and surprises but for me this book was more mystical than the first book. Still good read but not like the previous book.

I really enjoyed the book and I will look forward to the next installment. My only problem is the abrupt ending. It's not even cliffhanger hell. It's more like hup! Made it to 60,000 words- that's all for this book... The book just ends. One page we're reading about Rebecca in a meeting and turn the page and we get About The Author... Poof! End of book- come back in six months to read more...

Second in the series, this one was good, but not as intense as the first. I couldn't really relate to Savvy's anger so maybe that is where it was short for me. Can't wait for the next in the series to come out though. What a cliffhanger!!
