Heartwrenching but gives good insight into the reasons why these crimes happen and the steps that society needs to undertake to prevent them

I always enjoy a true crime book, a legacy my father gave me when he left such books in the house after my parents' separation. This is a collection of True Australian domestic tragedy, family killing family. All very sad stories of course, and one wonders how love can turn to hatred to your own blood. I have minimal interaction with most of my own family, but I could never picture harming them in this way.

My main gripe with this book is the court excerpts that make up the bulk of quite a few stories. They started out as insightful and interesting, but by the end I was bored. They were often repeated statements about events. This would probably be the only thing I'd really change about this book.

So if you enjoy true crime, then this might be a book for you. Four stars.

An interesting and disturbing read about some of the worst murders committed within families.

Quite a poor true crime book. Struggled to finish it. So much repetition and quoting Judges rulings verbatim. Dull sand a lot of the cases aren’t particularly interesting. Avoid.

I enjoyed the book, in the main, but found quite a bit of repetition with quoting what the judge said at trial. We'd already read what the accused did, said and failed to do. It didn't need repeating, in my opinion, and spoiled the book somewhat. I enjoyed most of the book but became bored with it by the end.

Well written. Very disturbing subject matter. I found the children murder cases particularly hard to stomach
