"You Think You Know. You have No Idea" Revised

Rate this book
She met her rapper husband, DMX at age 11. They began dating when she turned 18; he was also living in Yonkers at that time. Simmons is estranged and legally separated from her on and off again husband Earl Simmons, better known by his stage name 'DMX'. She resides in Mt. Kisco, New York with their four children; Xavier, Tacoma, Sean, and Praise Mary Ella. The world only knows his side of the story and what they see in the media. Here is your chance to hear her account of what happened and how she continues to strive for success, despite living her life on a platform for the world to see. This book will detail the good, the bad, and the ugly of the life of Tashera Simmons and DMX, and their lives together. She does not like it to be referred to as a tell-all; because she thinks that alludes to it snitching on intimate details of his life. What it will expound on is how despite adversities and turmoil, she is able to still have a positive outlook on life and appreciate all the things that have come her way. If you want to read a book about walking by faith, You Think You Know, but You Have No Idea , is a must read page turner. It gives you a detail experience of Tashera s life, and also inspires others to continue to have hope through the adversities they face in their own lives.

Save yo money

Look, I really like Tashera. I purchased the book to support her. However this book feels is lacking in the middle. It skips years and you are suddenly at the end. The editing is bad, but you can easily figure out what is being said.

I'm a DMX fan, but a woman first, so when I saw them on couple therapy and fix my life, I was shocked to see what DMX was like.

All I can say is wow.

Words can't describe how I feel I'm speechless. I'm 15 years in and leaning on my faith and God has been pulling me through . Thanks for writing this book .

Excellent Read!

Wow, this woman has been through alot. By the grace of God, her story is inspiring others that find themselves in the same situation. It funny how I could hear Tashera's voice as I read this book. It almost felt like she was literally sitting in front of me and telling her story. I would recommend this book to anyone that faces issues with a family member or spouse on drugs. It really gives you an incite on what its like to live with someone on drugs. It also allows you to examine how a person enters the enabling stage. You really do lose yourself without noticing. You become torn between what your heart says vs what you know makes sense. Overall really good read.

To the author of this book

I purchased and finished this book in one night 04/09/2021 after learning DMX died allowing Earl Simmons to live on in peace in the after I have always seen the pain that his wife, help mate and soul mate that wrote this book actually experienced with him.. I am so thankful Mrs Simmons shared her story and is still able to rep her husband in a loyal God loving way and anyone who seen you as stupid does not know how our heavnly father works and is unable to see a person from the inside out. My prayers go out to Mrs Simmons and her family and may Mr Earl Simmons finally rest in peace

Shocking

Reading this was shocking but I don't know why when I've worked with addicts for years. I guess we all put X on a pedestal and despite knowing he was on drugs didn't expect addict behavior. The way he always included Tashera in his songs you would have expected him to treat her better. I feel so sorry for the things that Tashera went through but I'm glad she found the strength to leave. He is my favorite rapper and one of the realest in the game but between the fame and drugs he forgot she was the realest on his team. RIP DMX.

Tears of Joy

This Heroine's story reinstated w/every painful issue, emotion, and burden I've ever bore. A real page-turner and I laughed and cried at every turn. Tashera's life story is a true testament that a real loving, eternal God exists. And his ear is open to the broken hearted's pain and cry. The book is also rightly titled in that I would hear bits and pieces of some of the Drama X was in. She definitely sheds a light that removes all doubt and speculation. As told candidly from her perspective/experience. True warrior, excellent writer, and totally amazing woman.

A Great Read

This was a powerful read it tell of the life of Tashera Simmons before and after she married DMX. She was mistreated and suffered greatly at his hands. She lost herself and put up with years of verbal abuse and infidelity. She found hope and herself again. It’s a worthwhile read.

Great read and straight to the point.

I gave the book four stars because of the many typos. The book was great straight to the point everything was relevant to the story line. I really enjoyed reading Tashera’s book and her sharing so much of their life with us. Thank you Tashera and R.I.H Earl Simmons aka DMX........

Interesting

Sad story but I am so happy she has made her way out of what held her back. Ms. Simmons seems like a wonderful soul. I hope she and her children will continue to grow and prosper.

Reading this story about the Author took me back to my growing up as a little girl. And brought on emotions about family members that have gone through pain and hurt by their parents. I am currently still reading this book and cant wait to see how her life story ends in her words and not the actions betrayed on television. What I am saying is know the truth told from the Author.

I enjoyed reading about her early life and her family. Then learning about her relationship with DMX but then it got slightly confusing and rushed. All I learnt (which I already knew) was he was an addict and a cheater. The book rushed their relationship and became repetitive when talking about his respect lack of respect for her. I guess when you’re in that sort of relationship and the wife, you convince yourself that you’re somehow on a pedal stool especially when they continue to depend on you.
I did feel sorry for her and glad she left the relationship. I wish she spoke more about her relationship with her family especially her mother after what she did!
