Memorable Quotes: “Behind?” Maddy threw her hands into the air. “You’re so far behind, you’ll need a map and a compass to catch up! And I’m supposed to relax while you’re planning a summer vacation you haven’t earned yet?”
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️2️⃣🏝🎄
My thoughts: This definitely should have been a novel but I'm getting to the story suddenly stopping, which is different from your typical cliffhanger where something dramatic happens and then it ends, like in Winter Street and Paradise series by Elin Hilderbrand or Gulf Coast Cottage (Blackbird Beach Series) by Maggie Miller which is also a novella series. This story continues where the last one stopped, but while the last book focuses on her reasons for avoiding Nantucket and the decorating contest, this story shifts to her unwanted interest in Ethan and Mason's teenage antics. I'm guessing book 3 is going to shift to the store. My only issue with this story is the endings, it's like I'm in the middle of a conversation, and the call drops. There is no lead to the end, I just turned the page, and instead of the next paragraph or new chapter, there's the advertisement for the next book with the "Continue the Story" heading. I prefer the dramatic climax of someone showing up, dropping some tea, or a big reveal and fading out like the other books do, at least that way I know the end is coming and I'm anticipating the next book. This ending left me with nothing to look forward to. My guess from the first book is she's going to find love, move to Nantucket, and take over the store, I could be wrong, so leaving me in a conversation about her mom wanting to sell her home and business leaves me nothing to look forward to, you told me that early on in the first book.
Recommend to others: Sure, it's not bad but I still would have preferred it as a novel. I'm probably going to be using this as an example of that 2 years from now.

Maddy is enjoying running her mother’s store while her mother recovers from a broken arm. Maddy & her son are settling in nicely & growing more fondly of Nantucket every day. She is actually loving being back in Nantucket unlike what she expected. She has reconnected with some of her old friends & met a new one, Ethan, who is always helping everyone around town & everyone loves him.Maddy has some ideas to update her Mother’s shop some as it is outdated & needs repairs. Of course Ethan is there to help her, just as he helped her mother, but Maddy wasn’t aware of all the help he had given her. He also gives her some advice on dealing with her son from a guys point of view. She doesn’t take it the wrong way & thinks it sounds good, so she’s willing to try it. Then she gets a call from a mother that is livid, blaming Mason for getting her son in trouble before Maddy even hears about it. What next? Well her mother drops the bombshell on her that she’s gotten an offer & she’s going to sell the house & the shop! What?? What a shock this is what now? Maddy is very upset & doesnt know what to do. She doesn’t want to move back to Nantucket to take over but she doesn’t want to say goodbye to all of her memories either. It’s like loosing her father all over again. So now what? Two problems, what to do about Mason & does she really want to let go of her childhood home & the shop she was raise around & worked in growing up? And what about Ethan? How does she feel about him? They’ve been spending a lot of time together! Is she ready to say goodbye to him? What a dilemma? A lot of decisions to make? What will they be? Will they be the right ones? Can’t wait for the next book!!
I received this ARC for free & I am giving my review for free & in my own words.
Changes can make decisions difficult and Maddy is having a difficult time accepting that her mom, Sarah is ready for a big change. Children tend to believe parents are invincible, until they are not! It is heartbreaking to see Maddy struggle with the possibility of her mom selling their family business and home, but as a grown adult, Maddy needs to see the big picture and accept the fact that her mom needs to slow down and enjoy life while she can. Mason doing typical teenager things is a reminder that the teenage years are difficult especially today. I believe things will work out for all in this story. It is heartfelt and deals with real topics which makes the story relatable. It is going to be interesting to see where Grace will take this story.
Change is hard to adjust to. Maddy continues managing the shop for her mother. She is also trying to keep her son Mason focused on his school work. When Mason gets in trouble with local teenagers, Maddy is mortified and grounds him.
Maddy spends some time with Ethan and considers what her future will bring. Maddy is surprised to learn her mother is making plans for the future. What changes are in store?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
A heartwarming story. Mothers and daughters have spa special bond and sometimes they have difficult relationships but know matter what, they are always there and that's what matters and just maybe they can see each other through the good , bad and new adventures. A great must read.
This was a fun and quick book to read. I was disappointed to see it end so fast. I will have to go back and read book 1 and then to book 3! I enjoy learning about the usland.
And Maddy can’t seem to fully figure out what she wants to do. Does she want to stay in Nantucket or move back to Miami? Things are moving along with Ethan and she’s enjoying his company. Will this be enough to make her stay?
So many things wrong with this series. Most importantly, you MUST read them in order and ALL of them to reach any co conclusion. Therefore, the author is forcing you to purchase all books in the series. A hard pass.
