Dean Wayne Young is the head writer of the popular comic strip Blondie, which he inherited from his father Chic Young in 1973. Since that time he has produced the comic with a team including credited artists Jim Raymond from 1973 until 1981, Mike Gersher from 1981 until about 1984, Stan Drake from 1984 until 1997 and Denis Lebrun from 1997 until 2005. The current Blondie head artist is John Marshall.

Malgré le côté vieillot de ce strip, les gags fonctionnent généralement plutôt bien. C'est dû au personnage central, Dagwood Bumstead, un américain docile et innocent.

Beaucoup de gags récurrents : le 'diner' ni gastronomique, ni hygiénique, le voisin emprunteur d'objets, le boss tyrannique, l'épouse pragmatique...

Classique et rigolo.

“The Best of Blonde” by Dean Young and Jim Raymond was originally published 1973 and updated numerous times until 1977.
The comic strips are very entertaining and reflect in a meaningful way the social attitudes of the 1970s. (P)
