I really loved this book as Davis and Elizabeth grow together in love. I loved that Davis knew she wouldn't give back her engagement ring and told his mom off and sent her their special text. ...more

I LOVE Davis and Biz!!!!! Romantic, funny, and a little dark at times, made this a great sequel to Better Than Me! I can't wait to read the third book!

Biz and Davis have worked through both their pasts for the most part. They are happy and moving forward with their lives yet Biz feels like her past is going to come back and haunt her. Biz starts her new job and Davis goes back to school. Everything seems to be going along just great. When out of the blue a news segment sends Biz into a tailspin. Luckily Davis is there and her boss Gail is also there to help bring her back to the present and to come up with a plausible cover story. The worst is

Elizabeth aka Biz is with the man she adores. The man she loves, her soul mate Davis. Davis and Biz are in their last year of schooling to finish their degrees.
Although Davis still has a few more years to go to get his Masters.
Biz and Davis can’t move in with each other as Biz needs to stay at her dorm as she is an RA, but her and Davis are inseparable. They spend every night together, enjoying each other.

If you've read book 1, this one picks up shortly after that one ends.
The author sent me this book for an honest review.
In this book, you get to see Biz and Davis dive head first into their relationship. Biz still hasn't been completely up front about her 'secret'. to Davis. She's afraid of what that secret will do to their relationship... will he look at her differently? She already struggles with anxiety, which she knows is a trigger to something in Davis' past. Eventually, the choice to tell D ...more

I was given this ARC for an honest review.
I could not wait to start this book after I finished Better Than Me. Biz and Davis are right were they left off in book one. This book is more dark and emotional than the first and I love it. I love the emotions that Emme Burton is able to pull out and make me feel them right along with the book. It kept my attention and had some twists and turns in this that I didn't see coming. I was given this book for an honest review by A Kiss Down Under Book Blog.
The first half of this book was a little slow going but the second half was really amped and now I know I need to read the third book!
The author gradually built the character descriptions as the story unfolded and this layering was effective. The emotional roller coaster at times helped to build the momentum in the story.
Occasional grammar errors were a little distracting but nothing too serious.

I love reading books from local authors! I read the first Better than us book sometime ago and jumped at the chance to read this one for free. I really enjoyed it because I could identify all the places around St. Louis. It gets a bit angsy when the main characters are split between two cities for a bit working summer jobs. I love when a man stands up to his over bearing mother.... I will read book 3 eventually as I have already purchased. There is no cliff but I do want to know how the series e

I love the "Better Than" series! The story as a whole is wonderful and keeps you drawn in. You can't help put feel drawn to the characters. I love the way the intimate parts were described, never vulgar but always passionate. I would recommend this book to someone who might not normally read "adult" books. The story is strong enough that even if you chose to skip over the intimate parts is would still be a great book! I am hooked!

I was very happy to say that this book was better than the first although a bit slower to read it was still better. The book picks up from book one where Davis and Biz start their relationship and are snowed in for a few days. They decide to make this a go. Graduation comes and goes and then it is on to bigger things such as real jobs and possibly marriage. Their are a few twists and turns in this book but very happy for the ending.

“I hate the word fine. It is descriptive of nothing. Socially acceptable filler with no true meaning. It’s what you say when you are checking your feelings, unwilling or unable to let yourself be too happy or too sad. Fine. It’s an emotional bookmark. A pause until you can continue the story.”
