This book is pure poetry. Out of nowhere, in the middle of an intense action scene, incredibly lyrical prose will ambush you. Such as:
"One agent caught steel death in the side of the jaw. A second got the business in the chest, the impact knocking him back against a table. The third and fourth members of the pig farmer race caught 9mm oblivion in the chest. They had shot for the moon, but had ended up in the Disneyland of the dead. They crashed to the floor like dead trees..."
and
"Moving quickly to one side, Camellion directed his attention at the last two Russians, the two agents down by the doorway, who had recovered sufficiently from concussion to get into the action. Not that it did them any good. Instead of being jet commuters, they were bus riders whose time had come to take up residence in eternity."
Beautiful. Just amazing.
And as for the characters... you'll meet many a member of the pig farmer race, the Russians, and learn all of their Russian names, in the few lines preceding the description of a how a bullet is ripping apart their body. Like a George R.R. Martin novel, don't get attached to any character with a Russian name. And there are lot of them. The author must have had a Russian baby name on hand.
Another men's adventure series from the 80's. This one has just as much violence as the rest but less sex. Also this one is somewhat different as it has much more SiFi and supernatural story lines than others. Think of a bloody X-files in a way. Recommended
