Unremembered

Rate this book
After surviving a brutal attack, Brynn, a young farm wife, mother, and artist, gained the ominous ability to see memories in old, abandoned houses—memories the houses hold close, revelations and secrets only she can see. These desolate houses share their ethereal stories of life, death, and all the in-between—images, scenes, reenactments of beauty and agony that will be scorched into her mind forever.

The men responsible for Brynn's savage, near-fatal assault are still free, a frustration she can no longer bear. When her relentless pursuit of justice for herself fails, Brynn discovers she is not her assailants' only victim.

Now, she must find their other victim and seek justice, even if it's second-hand. With the ruse as a cold case consultant, Brynn takes her skills to rural Minnesota. Her covert quest, however, may come at a cost she's not prepared to pay. And those whose evil deeds have gone undiscovered until now will stop at nothing to thwart her.

I just finished reading Unremembered by Christine Mager Wevik. We often say, ‘if the walls could speak.’ Wevik has created walls that do speak, at least to Brynn, a rape victim. In this book, I love that Wevik focuses, not on the horror of the crimes, or the depravity of the perpetrators, but upon the survivors and how they take their lives back. I love the focus on how the victim’s family deals with recovery as well. Wevik has achieved just the right tension between foreboding and reality to keep me riveted.

Chris Mager Wevik has authored a great page turner. Unremembered, the 3rd book in the Brynn series. Brynn is a wife, mother, artist, photographer and cold case investigator. She helps law enforcement officers solve cold cases using her remarkable insights gleaned from empty houses. Meanwhile she is trying to bring to justice the men who abducted, brutally abused and left her to die in a ditch on a lonely country road. There are plenty of plot twists to keep you turning pages! Highly recommend!

Loved this book and this series! You can tell this author has lived where the main character lives. Her descriptions of daily life make you feel like you are living it with her.
The suspense in the story keeps you coming back for more. You can’t wait to see where Brynn’s storyline will take you on this journey.

In the latest of this series Brynn finds herself in Minnesota helping out and expanding her consultant status into cold case investigation. It leads to a great blot in this book. It was great. Lots of great development and plenty of suspense.
