The French tire company Michelin publishes a variety of road maps, mostly of France but also other countries in Europe, Africa and North America.

Michelin maps began in 1900 as part of the free Guide Michelin, created by brothers André and Édouard Michelin to encourage driving and boost tire sales, containing maps, repair info, hotels, and restaurants

Michelin road maps were considered highly accurate & were reproduced in England for the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II.

Not quite as good as the Michelin Driving Atlas for France, but nevertheless, an excellent atlas. If you will only be in one area of Italy, it is probably overkill since it covers the entire country.
