ARC Boss me Not -AJ Ranney
Quotes:
“I f***ing love your thighs. So if eating cookies will guarantee they keep my head locked between your legs, I’ll make sure to feed you cookies every day.”
“The first time we’re together, you’re going to sit on my face, and I’m going to show you exactly how a man should make you feel.”
— Wyatt, casually ruining us all — Good god sir!
Quick Review:
⭐️ 4.5/5 stars –Boss Me Not is everything I love in a grumpy/sunshine romance. Spicy, snarky, and surprisingly full of heart. Wyatt, her boss, and Angie, a confident curvy queen, create completely Unhinged tension in the best way. I devoured this novella in one sitting and was genuinely impressed by the character depth in such a short story.
🌶️ 4/5 Spice Rating –Buckle up this one is spicy. The anticipation is intense, and Wyatt’s filthy mouth is easily one of the highlights. The scenes are detailed, well-written, and steamy without crossing into full erotica. The chemistry is explosive, but even with all the heat, the depth of their connection, makes the spice feel earned rather than just there for the sake of it.
🖤 1/5 Darkness Rating – While not considered a dark romance. There are some possible triggers: we have a mild power imbalance with the boss-employee relationship, there are talks of death, grief and emotional neglect from the past, and on page explicit spice.

What I Loved:
Honestly? Wyatt. Freaking. Reed. I went into Boss Me Not expecting a quick, spicy escape—and I got that—but I was not prepared for how much I’d actually enjoy the emotional slow-burn under all that tension. Wyatt starts off as the ultimate grump (like, Olympic-level brooding), but AJ Ranney peeled back his layers in such a satisfying way. Angie? She’s my kind of curvy heroine—bold, unbothered (even when she should be), and totally capable of standing her ground with a guy who’s used to calling all the shots. Also, the forced proximity? Chef’s kiss. The banter? Actual gold. And the spice? Let’s just say I had to fan myself a couple times. I’ll go shopping with my husband any day 😉.

The Story (No Spoilers!):
Angie accepts a hotel management position in a picturesque coastal town, only to find herself suddenly reporting to the hotel owner’s ridiculously attractive (and irritatingly arrogant) grandson, Wyatt. Due to some classic rom-com chaos—aka “every room is booked except his suite”—they’re stuck living together. Tension builds, sparks fly, and we get to watch two people who shouldn’t make sense together slowly unravel and click into place in all the best ways.

Final Thoughts (Why You Need This Book):
This novella might be short, but it does not shortchange you on the good stuff. It’s sexy, and it has way more heart than I expected. I devoured it in one sitting and immediately wanted more from this world.
In all honestly? I was genuinely impressed with how much emotional growth happened in so little time. The character arcs—especially Wyatt’s—were so well done, it didn’t feel rushed or surface-level at all. For a novella, that’s rare.
Trust me, you’ll wish you were the one stuck sharing a suite, or clothing store changing room, with Wyatt Reed so grab your copy ASAP.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book for my honest review, and now my TBR has grown because I need to read all her books.
