Okay, I’m absolutely gushing over this book! No, I don’t know the author, and no, this isn’t a paid review—I just really loved it. As someone who deals with high anxiety and panic attacks, this workbook felt personal and real. The author has lived through anxiety herself, making her incredibly relatable. She shares her vulnerabilities, which invites us to do the same.

As a life coach working with clients who often experience non-clinical anxiety and depression, ACT is one of the modalities I use. I'm always searching for tools to add to my practice, and this workbook is now a go-to resource. The author also references other therapeutic approaches, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which I wasn’t too familiar with. Her integration of various modalities, including ACT, DBT, and CBT, makes the workbook incredibly well-rounded and insightful.

One thing that stood out was her thoughtful approach—she even includes a content warning and a safety plan before diving into the exercises! The book is 179 pages of easy-to-understand, jargon-free content. It covers the brain’s role in anxiety, different types of anxiety, and a wide range of causes. Though I wish there was more emphasis on mineral deficiencies, the book is comprehensive and compassionate.

I’m already planning to get a soft copy because I find it more effective for workbooks. I’m also looking forward to exploring more of her work!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love Acceptance Commitment Therapy and has seen the benefits using ACT principles has had on my kids.

This book was very easy to understand and the author uses stories from her own life which made it very relatable. The strategies and tools she includes and explains are easy to understand and implement and also varied enough that if one doesn't work for you there are others to try.

I found it very helpful
