Love at First SlightMr Bennet's greatest wish is to see his five sons advantageously married. When the haughty Miss Elizabeth Darcy comes to Netherfield Park with her widowed friend, speculation—and prejudice—runs rampant through Hertfordshire. William Bennet, a reluctant and irreverent future reverend, catches Miss Darcy's eye even though he is beneath her station. However, his opinion of her is fixed when she slights him at the Meryton Assembly. As her ardour grows, so does his disdain, and when she fully expects to receive an offer of marriage, he gives her something else entirely!
Whimsical In His CivilitiesAccompany Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy as he—intent on reversing the disastrous first impression he made on his first visit to Meryton—braves another assembly and seeks to win his heart's desire, Miss Elizabeth Bennet.

J. Marie Croft (Joanne) is a life-long resident of Nova Scotia, Canada, but spends a lot of time in Regency England with Jane Austen's beloved characters. She has written a dozen Austenesque stories: three novels, three novellas, and six short stories for anthologies. Joanne shares with her husband a love of their adult twin daughters, a spoiled calico cat, the great outdoors, geocaching, and British crime dramas.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. You will see the most beloved characters in a whole new way. This is a Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice variation. This is book four of four of the series called Mr Darcy’s Dilemmas. Each book is a standalone story. This book is a compilation of two previously published works by J Marie Croft.
WHIMSICAL IN HIS CIVILITIES Accompany Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy as he, intent on reversing the disastrous first impression he made on his first visit to Meryton, braves another assembly and seeks to win his heart's desire, Miss Elizabeth Bennet.

This book has two stories, Whimsical in His Civilities and Love at First Slight.
Whimsical has Mr. Darcy returning to Meryton to take another shot at gaining Elizabeth Bennet's heart.
First Slight has the characters' roles reversed. Thus Mr. Bennet has five sons to marry off. William Bennet is the middle son. (The two youngest, Christopher and Lawrence, are the silliest boys in England.). Elizabeth Darcy slights William at the Assembly calling him only tolerable.
