Childhood friends, Sam, Rachel, and Roy, were inseparable—three lost souls who protected each other. When Sam’s father threatened their futures, Rachel did what she had to do in order to protect them all. She left. Ten years later, Rachel Williams retreats to the quiet of the Colorado mountains. She needs isolation from the outside world to heal from a brutal date attack.
Sam McCoy has had it with socially elite women—especially his ex-fiancée. He needs to go back to the mountains and create a home, complete with a baby or two. When Rachel is injured, Sam is there to take care of her. He loves the way she defies him, makes him laugh, and makes him need. A future with her would be filled with love and babies.
Angelic dreams help Sam and Rachel know they’re fated to be together, despite the interference of others. It will be up to Roy and his wife Paulette to help nudge fate along.
Lynnette Bernard is a fan of Broadway, the ocean, science fiction, romance, music, movies, books, and babies. She has two babies of her own who were the perfect children who have turned out to be outstanding adults. She is a staunch advocate of “happily ever after” and changes the endings of any movie that she sees or book that she reads that doesn’t follow that rule. She has the hots for cowboys, shifters, vampires, and really nice guys, and lives her fantasies about them through her writings. The cowboys of Colorado will always hold a special place in her heart.
I have read everyone of Lynnette Bernard's books and some of them more than once and I will read them again undoubtedly and after reading this book I can honestly say that she has a huge imagination. However, this book took me a month to read and I want to say that unfortunately it was to easy to put down and take break to go read another book. Which makes it hard to decide on a rating, even if I did keep coming back to this very sweet and out the Lynnette Bernard's box story.
This book not like her normal style of writing which I think show cases her talent with only a couple minor things that bothered me about the book. Too start with, I want to say the word "Tender" in any form was way over used and that in some key spots I felt that the passion, that I know Lynnette can write, got lost and I just didn't get that emotional wave of what the character was feeling when your picturing the characters or the scenes of a book. The best parts of this book where the passion was there were at the beginning (the attack) and then the scene with Alison in the camp ground, the later being so intense I could not help but cry.
This story had about the same amount of action going on in the bedroom but less graphic language (no F-bombs and such) compared to her other books.
I do like how thought out each of the characters were, even Jerod, Kay and the Flecther's had their quirks, which doesn't always happen with minor characters. Edwin McCoy could be the poster parent for why some parent should be licensed to become parents. And being a Trekky I have to I love the name Sam McCoy and that the reference was used ;)
I will most likely read this book again because it is a worthy read even with it's minor imperfections.

HOLY HOTNESS WAS THIS BOOK AWESOME! Lover of My Dreams was out of this world good. I loved the themes, elements, plot, and the set of characters. Its a fantastic story that was superbly written. Lynnette out did herself with Lover Of My Dreams. This is a true one of a kind paranormal romance that seemed so different and unique compared to other paranormal romances.
Angels, helpful dreams, and good friends, helped this story become one of the most memorable books for me to read this year. I loved Roy and Paulette and Sam and Rachel. The romance was sweet and sexy. The sex was delicious and hot and oh so good!
I don't think I have read a story quite like this. I loved the whole angel angle to the story. I don't read a lot of paranormal stories with angels so getting to read this one was nice, especially since it was written by Lynnette Bernard. She definitely knows what she is doing when it comes to writing a story. I gave Lover of My Dreams an OUTSTANDING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! It was more then I expected and I am so glad I got the chance to read and review it. I hope you pick this story up for yourself so you can find out why I loved it so much! Happy reading!
This book was sweet, as Lynnette Bernard's tend to be. However, i was pretty bothered by the lack of balance between Rachel and Sam. They both make mistakes and yet never once does Rachel take any responsibility for her continual lack of communication, running away, and even keeping her own big secret. Its all about bashing every little thing Sam does.
Lynette's female leads tend to all be super low self esteem, wounded, overly stubborn creatures. I would love to see one with some confidence and a common sense brain.
a new series, was well written and I have always really enjoyed her books. Every book I have read pulls you in makes you lagh, cry and feel like these could be real people. I never want her stories to end.
I have read all of this author's books and have enjoyed turn all. This is the first in a new series and it looks like another hit for her. You know it is a good book when you tear up when you have read only 7% of the book.
