Sheila is the writer formerly known as Daisy Tate and Annie O'Neil. This is the real her! If you enjoyed her women's fiction and romcoms and romances, please do give The Break-Up Agency a whirl. She lives (and works) on a small farm, loves dogs, cake, Scotland, pickles and fruit pie. Well...all pie, really. She loves to hear from readers, so please drop her a line if you fancy.
This is her first RomCom for Lake Union Publishing, inspired by a friend who wanted to launch into the dating scene, but who struggled with breaking up with the ones who weren't quite the right fit.
I’m afraid they this was a very disappointing read. The parts that were about the dancing and the dancing industry, obviously the domain of Shirley Ballas, were flawless, as you would expect.
Unfortunately the story meandered and went nowhere. This was a book of 437 pages that could have done with an editor to clip it down to nearer 300.
The plot made no sense, the twists and turns made no sense.
The first book in this series was very enjoyable and well put together. This one wasn’t in both respects.
I’ve got mixed emotions about this book. I’ve enjoyed reading it because I like and admire Shirley Ballas. Also, I’ve read her first book so it felt natural to me to follow on when part two was published.
However, I found it less enjoyable than part one. The story took a while to get going. Sadly, I found myself feeling a bit confused at the constant turns and twists to what actually was happening.
All in all, it’s an easy, quick, holiday read. A pleasant book full of ballroom glitz and drama.
It was ok. I took a while to get into and it never really gripped my attention. It’s pleasant and the story is ok. Easy read but somehow not what I was expecting
