I thought my life couldn’t get any more complicated... I was wrong.
So, Ethan, the man I’d hoped could be the third party in my unusual relationship with my incubus, is a psychic. Yep, he can see ghosts since childhood. So to say that Ethan was pissed off when he found out that the threesome he was looking forward to with us came with additional brimstone was an understatement.
Yet, I have to admit that my colleague is persistent. Because after our threesome, Ethan comes to me on Monday and asks me to move in with him—demon included. He wants me too much, he says, and is willing to do whatever it takes to have me. Adrian is thrilled, of course, since he’s wanted Ethan ever since he met him. But I’m pretty sure my new lover is secretly determined to steal me from my incubus. I can’t imagine Ethan’s reaction when he finds out that Adrian and I share a mind-link because of a contract I have no intention of breaking.
As the days go by, the relationship between my two men is volatile, at best. Adrian keeps taunting Ethan, who seems to want nothing to do with my sexy demon. But then why does he look at Adrian like he’s not quite sure if he wants to throw holy water in his face or rip off his clothes?
As we try to navigate our new fragile dynamic, rumors of our unusual situation begin to spread at WE. But more importantly, we find out another reason lilims are dangerous to humans—one that could very well end Ethan’s life.
Never Trust a S*x Demon is the second book in a series of four. This book is for mature readers only, as there are many graphic scenes of intimacy as well as some disturbing themes. Please check the triggers before reading. Now that Ethan is in the picture, there’ll be M/M and MMF scenes in a poly relationship centered around Sally. It cannot be read as a stand-alone. And of course the book ends on a devastating cliffhanger (sorry, not sorry !)
This promises a wild ride packed with supernatural intrigue, a complex love triangle, and plenty of heat. Here’s an honest take on what to expect:
Unique Paranormal Setup: The combination of a psychic, an incubus, and a human navigating a volatile ménage dynamic adds a fresh twist to the usual paranormal romance. The mind-link contract adds another layer of complexity that could keep the tension high. High-Stakes Drama: With rumors swirling at work and a life-threatening danger to Ethan, the plot promises to deliver not just sexual tension but also genuine danger, which could add emotional depth to the story. Potential for Slow-Burn Chemistry: Ethan’s resistance to Adrian, despite his apparent attraction, creates a delicious push-and-pull dynamic that could lead to some intense, conflicted moments.
This will likely appeal to readers who enjoy paranormal ménage romances with morally gray characters and don’t mind a bit of chaos in their love dynamics. Fans of spicy, supernatural tales where boundaries are pushed and emotional stakes are high will probably devour this one.
It dives into the emotional intricacies of the triad and gives equal weight to the relationships, it could be a captivating and addictive read.
It was an amazing read and I’m thankful for the opportunity to ARC read again!
I always say good things come in 3’s and boy was that right on the money with this story. The love triangle with these characters was pure chaos in the best way with the spice, tension, paranormal, and overall emotions. It was hard to put this one down because of how intricate the details were in this story. I’m hoping the next book comes out soon because that cliff hanger hit hard! Recommend!
Ever so glad that this book gave a bit of a recap before diving into the story! Didn’t realize that it was book two when I signed up for an arc but I’m so glad that I did! Absolutely loved this book and the cliffhanger has left me wanting more!
I am so grateful to have the honor of being an ARC reader for this novel. I was so excited to start this book that I completely missed the fact I hadn’t read the first book in this series, but I will 100% be doubling back to read it 😅 This book was absolutely amazing. Demons, a psychic ghost hunter, and blood bonds💖 Ethan, Adrian, and Sally make a spicy menage of misfits. After moving in together, things turn heated between our very own infernal lover and the aura sensing/ghost hunting psychic boyfriend. Their slow burn love story is absolutely delectable and I could not help myself, butt on the edge of my seat, rooting for them with all my will. Watching Sally love these two men with all her heart was beautiful. The moments they all connected with each other was breathtaking. The spice was spicing and I couldn’t have asked for more. And let👏me👏talk👏about the cliffhanger, wow oh wow what a way to break my heart and leave me bleeding on the floor 🥲 Waiting for the next installment might just break me 😂 I am ITCHING to find out what happens next 😉
When I picked up the book, I thought it would be mainly a lot of smut and spice. After all, it has a demon of lust as one of the main characters. But I couldn't have been more wrong. To say that I was surprised by the plot and the depth, is an understatement. This is one of the saddest smutty books I have ever read. The author has packed so much meaningful moments, so much pain, heartbreak and raw, unfiltered emotions in these pages along with the high spice, that a reader has barely any time to breathe. It's one revelation after another. The story is simply a live wire, buzzing with high voltage of sensual experience. It's hard to describe the incredible rainbow of emotions I went through while reading - anger, resentment, frustration, disappointment, relief, hope, even joy. The other very interesting and valuable achievement, the author has managed to accomplish is building a plot solidly on dub con base. The begining of the relationship between Adrian, Sally and Ethan was absolutely pure dub con to me. Sadly, I can't duel on the motivations and the reasons because that's a major spoiler. Even later in the book, the dub con that started it, could still be felt with the way Ethan treats Adrian and the way he refuses to acknowledge their relationship which makes the triad extremely unbalanced. No matter the positive development further in the book, the bitter disappointment of the beginning, continued to plague me because Ethan is the crowned Prince of the land, where Prejudice and Judgement are born. The author has done exceptionally well with creating characters that feel multidimensional and tangible. The urban fantasy elements of the usual lore have a life of their own, refracted through one unique and captivating prism, that veers away from what we, as readers, know about Hell, demons, ghosts and the whole preternatural world. Never trust a s*x demon will definitely appeal to the lovers of complex world building and high spice. It's definitely one of my best findings for 2025.
This book is an adventure and it leaves you emotionally distraught. I can not even guess what is coming next in this story. Every time it looks like things are going to settle something even crazier is thrown at this trio.
Sally is such a sweetheart and she just wants to keep her demon safe. She also wants to enjoy her new ghost seeing boyfriend. Plus watching him with her demon really gets her going because it is so freaking hot.
Ethan has struggled a lot in his life. He doesn't do relationships since someone hurt him so deeply. He also struggles with his gifts. He really wants Sally and maybe Adrian (though this dynamic is a lot in this story). Fear and longing create a chaotic mix through this story.
And of course we have our Incubus. Adrian is such a sorry for a demon. He just wants to live with his humans and be happy. However, someone or something always wants to ruin that. This demon really just needs to be loved and adored. I absolutely love Adrian and his story is a lot. He absolutely deserves better and I truly hope he gets everything when this story is done.
The character and relationship dynamics are really important in this and show how vital communication is in a poly relationship. Without that communication someone will be left out even if unintentionally. I absolutely adore these characters and the growth you see is fantastic.
I have no idea what trauma to expect next but I know it will be brutal just as the other two books. I love how emotional this story is and how much mental health is woven into the story. Everyone has issues and hard days but together many of those can be overcome.
There were a lot of ups and downs in this second book of the Sweet Dreams series. You could tell from the ending of the last book that the situation between Sally, Adrian, and Ethan was going to start out on some rocky ground. With this new kind of relationship and already established prejudices from Ethan towards demons, I fully expected there to be some tough situations that the group would have to deal with. But I really loved how Labeau had the whole menage relationship develop with all the hardships, misunderstandings, and revelations about one another. As their bonds grew, we got to see some really heartfelt moments between the three, much more background information about Adrian and his time in hell, as well as several unique developments that I didn't see coming. I really enjoyed that this book branched out a little bit more with the supernatural aspects and beings. It was interesting to learn about hell and how everything is separated there and the different tiers of power. I also liked that we got to see how Ethan utilized his abilities to assist wandering spirits who needed help and to see him become more comfortable with his powers around Sally and Adrian, knowing that their emotions and thoughts wouldn't bombard him like he was used to happening with others. I'm excited to see what more Labeau includes in the next books and how many supernatural beings will be included in this world.
This book was a wild, spicy, and surprisingly emotional ride! The love triangle between a human, a psychic, and an incubus is anything but conventional—and that’s exactly what makes it so compelling. The author does a great job blending paranormal elements with real emotional stakes, especially as the characters try to balance desire, jealousy, and the very real danger surrounding them.
Ethan’s psychic abilities added a cool twist, especially with his initial reaction to discovering the “demon clause” in the relationship. His struggle to accept Adrian, the incubus, felt genuine, and their tension kept things deliciously unpredictable. The chemistry crackles, the banter is sharp, and the dynamic between the three is equal parts hilarious, frustrating, and hot.
What kept this from being a full 5-star read for me was that the pacing got a bit bumpy in the middle—some emotional beats felt a little rushed, and I would’ve liked to see more development of the mind-link aspect and the world-building around lilims. Still, the ending leaves you eager for what’s next, and the emotional stakes were high enough to keep me hooked the entire time.
If you like your romance messy, magical, and full of sizzling supernatural tension, this one’s definitely worth the read. Excited to see what's next in this series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ ✨Out now available in paperback and kindle (available on KU) be sure to read the first installment of this series as well available in the same formats!!
✨This is a paranormal romance between a human, medium and demon. This dynamic is full of banter, extremely sexy scenes, danger around every corner, and tension for days!!
✨This relationship it truly beautiful to watch flourish, just when you think things will finally fall into place something new happens that throws an entirely new aspect into this story.
✨We explore this poly relationship and how very important communication is in these relationships. Sally is so sweet and wants nothing more than to protect her demon, Ethan starts by wanting to steal her away from said demon but begins to change his mind the more he gets to know Adrian, Adrian is the third and final piece to this relationship and he becomes more and more vulnerable as the story goes🥰
✨Watching Sally love these two and stepping back every once in a while to let their connection flourish was beautiful! When they all come together they connect in a breathtaking way. The spice is very heavy but it is oh so spicy!! And that cliffhanger ahhh way to tear my heart out and just stomp on it. I cannot wait for the third part of this series to be out!!
You know that feeling when you know better but do the thing anyway? That’s me with this series. Never Trust a S*x Demon has me out here making the same mistakes as Ethan—trusting an incubus (or in my case, an author) and then acting surprised when my heart gets stomped on.
Let’s be real, Book 1 already taught me that Chris Labeau has zero interest in my emotional well-being, and yet, I cracked open Book 2 like a fool. And now? Now I’m over here full of anxiety, clutching my metaphorical pearls, and cursing the fact that I have to wait for the next book. Again.
Spice? Oh, it’s top-tier. Book 1 set a high bar, and Book 2 said, “Hold my brimstone.” But beyond the sinfully good scenes, what really stood out was the relationship dynamics. It does a fantastic job showing just how messy, complicated, and communication-heavy poly relationships can be—especially when one of your partners is an actual demon and the other is a ghost-seeing psychic with commitment issues. Throw in a workplace that thrives on gossip, and Sally’s got more drama than a telenovela.
Now, let’s talk about the things that had me yelling at my Kindle.
First off, Sally’s best friend? Absolute menace. I do not like how she’s treating my girl. Not one bit. And don’t even get me started on how these people are just casually out here spilling demon secrets like it’s Happy Hour. Um, did we not establish that Adrian could be dragged back to Hell if enough people believe he’s real? And yet, they’re out here practically handing out business cards that say, “Ask me about my sexy demon boyfriend.” MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
And speaking of Adrian, my poor little demon deserves so much better. I’m ride or die for him at this point, but it feels like no one else in this book is. He keeps getting the short end of the stick, whether it’s from his own partners or the other characters around him, and by the end? My heart hurts for him. He deserves love, devotion, and maybe just one damn person in his corner without hesitation. Protect Adrian at all costs.
My biggest gripe? That ending. Look, I get cliffhangers. I even respect a well-placed one. But everything was left hanging. I don’t need all the answers, but throw me a bone here! Just one resolution before the next round of chaos. Is that too much to ask? (Apparently, yes.)
All in all, the book was just as good as the first, if not better in some ways. It had me hooked, it had me screaming, and it had me cursing Chris Labeau’s name—so, success? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be impatiently waiting for Book 3 while questioning my life choices.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Docking a star for emotional trauma and bad decision-making skills.)
“Whatever fate is awaiting me back in hell, I will never regret meeting you. Choosing you. Loving you.”
Ethan, Adrian, and Sally are sooo cute together! I loved reading each of their POVs so you could see how their relationships grew with each other. I feel like in this book everyone, particularly Adrian, got more vulnerable with each other, strengthen their relationship. So many cute moments, but the spice was sooooo HOT OMG It definitely didn't disappoint hehe Adding Ethan to the mis definitely made some people show their true colors *cough cough Elanie* Unfortunately, I was right: Elaine is an awful friend, and I hope Sally cuts her off completely because she did some unforgivable things. Hopefully, she finds a true friend. The one thing I didn't like was how suicide was considered a sin in this book. It is only briefly mentioned in the book, but suicide should not be considered a sin, especially since it can be harmful towards someone who is struggling (please look this topic up if you wish to learn more). The other thing was that there were some weird time skips between chapters where I was left wanting more from a scene or a smoother transition. Overall though, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one.
Thank you Chris Labeau for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thoughts: I loved the intimacy that built between the psychic, the demon and their girl. Being able to hear each others thoughts really increased their closeness. It was wonderful watching them all fall in love with each other. Being able to talk mind to mind was also quite helpful during spicy scenes. I especially adored the scene where the incubus flies her home, almost superman style. Ethan’s psychic powers add a lot of intensity to this s*xy novel. As he uses his power for good with the police and when he and Adrian face down an evil human. You will love the cliffhanger ending and the new obstacles Ethan, Adrian and Sally will have to face.
🛑Please read all the author warnings as themes and events depicted in this book could be triggering. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the 2nd book of the series, and it is where Sally and Adrian persuade Ethan to try a menage. This would help them out greatly, especially Adrian, so he doesn't take too much off Sally. Ethan has liked Sally for a while, and even though it means dealing with the Demon, for Sally's sake, he'll give it a try.
Adrian has to deal with his preconceptions of demons, especially Adrian. He wants to make him out to be the bad guy and, hopefully, make Sally get rid of him. But he soon realises he starts having feelings for him and he worships Sally like a Goddess.
Adrian, Sally, and Ethan have to navigate their new 3 way relationship. Jealousy can make or break it, and it has to be dealt with. At the same time, each one realises the depth of feeling they feel for each other, but one wrong word can make a massive difference in how they are viewed.
This story leaves you on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the next in the series to continue their journey together

We back again with Sally and Adrian continuing their journey. In this book we get introduced to a 3rd person in their relationship Ethan, now we have a beautiful love triangle indeed. There is some teething problems, but when they all get on the same page it's beautiful to witness. The love they have for each other is breath taking.
Once again I was hooked from the start to the end. Never putting it down for a second. It's such a crazy emotional rollercoaster ride with twists and turns. That kept me on the edge of my seat. It's action packed and of course spicy. Giving us a great balance. And if course we are left with a soul crushing cliffhanger. I can't wait for book 3.
Highly recommend reading.
*Please note best reading in order to experience the full story*
My favourite quote ⬇️⬇️
“Whatever fate is awaiting me back in hell, I will never regret meeting you. Choosing you. Loving you.”
There was such a quiet beauty in watching the relationship grown between Adrian, Sally, and Ethan. This is a love story that is evocatively emotion as it is sensual; and yet, there was such a soft tenderness as they strive to cradle each others’ hearts. There is an undercurrent of uncertainty (as this is new) that runs the gamer of this storyline but at its heart is a delicately nuanced character study. How much are we willing to change or adapt in the midst of love? How far will we go to protect those so deeply embedded in our souls?
The last half of this novel threw so many unexpected curveballs and we are left will many unanswered questions as we are left teetering on a cliff. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for this trio and hope you will check it out upon release.
As always, check content warnings if certain topics/subject matters are triggering.
Never Trust A Sex Demon by Chris Labeau is book #2 in the Sweet Dreams Series, and it just gets better! What started with spicy dreams with a Demon and his female human has now turned into a raging hot MMF relationship, and I'm here for it!
I was worried about hating our demon, Adrian, and his need to do anything to gain freedom from Hell, but alas, all he wanted was love, and I support it. We've pulled Ethan, a male human coworker, into the mix, and boy is he special in his own right. When Sally decides to give a part of herself to Adrian, what exactly does this mean for our thrupple?
Eeeeek!! I'll need the next book as soon as possible to answer all of my questions. 10/10 recommend.
If I thought Sally and Adrian were combustible, adding Ethan to the mix was a fireworks show on the Fourth of July! These three are getting into quite the partnership, completely with its ups and downs. Honestly, they're doing a bang-up job. I loved the individual dynamics between each pairing, but the overall group dynamic paints such a picture of character development and humanity (even for our incubus). That spice was off-the-wall, and it tested my "reading smut in public" face on more than one occasion. This plot was a rollercoaster, and despite its 645 pages, I was thoroughly invested. With that ending, I'm so ready for the next story in the series, and I can't wait to dive back into this world even though I've barely left.
Where do I even start? So many emotions. I still am trying to process everything that happened in this book. THE ENDING!! I want to scream! The journey between the 3 main characters is unreal. My heart hurt of each of the main characters at different points throughout the book. I felt every emotion. I laughed. I cried. I bit my knuckles. Just wow!
This book is so well written. It is planned and really thought out. There were so many amazing details that just drags the reader in. The spice is next level! IT IS HOT! WOW! Its like you can feel the sexual tension between Sally, Adrian, and Ethan. I highly recommend this book and this series!
She already had a relationship with an incubus, and she had hoped that Ethan would be their third, and he had to turn out to be a psychic. Apparently, he has the ability to see ghosts and has been able to since childhood. And he was looking forward to our threesome, till he found out that it came with added brimstone, then to say he was pissed off, that would be an understatement.
But to her surprise, after their threesome, she is surprised when the following Monday Ethan comes to her, asking her to move in with him, demon and all. He claims that he wants her too much and he will do whatever it takes to have her. Of course, Adrian is over the moon. He's wanted Ethan ever since he met Ethan. Sally is pretty sure that Ethan actually wants to steal her from Adrian. She's not sure what Ethan's reaction would be when he learns that the two share a mind link due to a contract that Sally has absolutely no intention of breaking.
Slowly, the days go by, and at best, they are volatile. Adrain enjoys taunting Ethan, and Ethan makes it clear that he would rather have absolutely nothing to do with the incubus, no matter how sexy and charming he may be. But, the way Ethan looks at Adrian is conflicted, on one hand he looks like he wants to throw holy water in the demons face and then on the other he looks like he wants to rip the demons cloths off and ravish him.
Together, the three try to work together to navigate a new fragile dynamic. They hear the rumours of their unusual relationship start to spread at WE. Soon, we find another reason, lilims are actually dangerous to humans – one that may end Ethan's very life.
It can not be read as a stand-alone. And of course, the book ends on a devastating cliffhanger (sorry, not sorry !)
Chris, what have you done to me yet again? I thought Never Trust A S*x Demon did me in, but that was nothing compared to Never Trust A S*x Demon. This was a wild roller-coaster ride that was packed with such supernatural intrigue, a complicated love triangle, and oh so much spice. I loved the way that Chris combined a human together with an incubus and a psychic to create a unique yet somewhat volatile reverse harem. It is such a fresh twist to the normal paranormal romances that we have. I absolutely loved it. It is fresh and new and gives us something unique. And the mind link between Sally and Adrain (our incubus) gives the story even more complexity and adds an additional layer of tension.
I loved all the rumors that swirl at work, and then you add in the life-threatening danger to Ethan. It all adds even more tension, and the plot promises to deliver even more sexual tension and even more danger. This helps to add even more emotional depth to the plot and the storyline.
The resistance between Adrain and Ethan makes the tension of the story even higher and helps to make the story believable. And despite Ethan's obvious attraction to Adrian, you get the perfect push and pull dynamic that gives us some amazing conflicted moments.
This book is going to draw in readers who enjoy PNR reverse harems with morally gray characters, don't mind chaos in love dynamics, enjoy spicy supernatural tales, pushed boundaries, and high stakes.
This book dives into emotion intricacies of triad relationships, and Chris gives equal weight to each member of the relationship. This series is going to be such a captivating and addictive read.
As a disclaimer, I did not read the first book. There was a detailed summary to catch me up on the background in the beginning of the book. This is my first time reading a book by this author and it went pretty good. The beginning was a little rough in the dialog but it didn't take long before it became smoother. There's not much of a plot but more of Ethan learning more about Adrian enough to finally trust him. Overall, I think this was more of a 3.75 stars book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The second book of the series and beware this may not be everyone 's cup of tea due to many graphic scenes of intimacy and sensitive themes so check the TW . Now that Ethan is in the picture, swords will cross even with Ethan struggles to give in to his attraction for Adrian but the relationship will evolve centering around Sally. Again, the book ends on a frustrating cliffhanger! Even so,the author knew how to keep the reader in a full engagement adding new elements and characters. The spice is high in a solid plot with drama and angst and a bit of danger in the mix.
I was so excited for this book, and it definitely did not disappoint!! I think it was even better than the first one. We pick up right where we left off in book one, and I was invested till the very end…and what an ending it was!!! I can’t believe we’re stuck waiting on the next book to find out what happens! I loved Sally and Adrian in the first book, but the addition of Ethan added an element I didn’t know I needed. The author did an amazing job with the story and the world building, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
This is the second book in the Sweet Dreams Series. For reference I have not read the 1st book but I definitely will be now to catch me up on the background of our characters.
Never Trust a Sex Demon has everything you want from page one! Spice/Smut is next level.. Story line Is phenomenal and detail is absolutely perfect.
This has me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down and a cliffhanger that made my jaw drop!
I cannot wait to find out where this story will take us and I look forward to reading more about Sally, Adrian and Ethan.
I couldn’t wait to start this book after reading the first in the series…and it didn’t disappoint.
Hot. Steamy. Emotional. Tense.
I loved learning more about Ethan…he’s easily my favourite character. The way that he resisted Adrian and always stands up to the incubus without showing any fear is admirable.
So many bumps in their relationship, and twists and turns throughout the story. Without saying much…Sallys soul, Ethans gift, Ethans nephew, Despair Demon, Asmodeus, Adrian’s possessiveness and rage!
I had grabbed the first book in this new series and then managed to join the authors ARC team for this the second in series. It is a longer book for me but with life recently, I needed to get lost in these characters and their continuing story. :D Again, I'm no fan of a cliff hanger but when I've invested in a books character, I need to hang in there for more. this did not disappoint and again a great read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was a fantastic read that left a lasting impression. The characters—Sally, Adrian, and Ethan—were compelling and well-developed, with dynamics that felt both authentic and captivating. The story was exceptionally well-written, offering a unique take on the paranormal genre with a slow-burn, emotionally charged narrative. It skillfully balances wild, unpredictable twists with just the right amount of romantic tension and spice. This emotional roller coaster will keep readers hooked from start to finish.
This was a spicy and emotional continuation of the story of Sally and her men/paranormals. The emotions run very high with the addition of a new person to the dynamic...and the conflict between people within the dynamic is fierce and cutting! The individuals are all so different that it is hard to see where they are all going to intersect and be happy with each other and Sally...but we still have 2 books left to make that happen! Beware the cliffy....and watch for the next book to continue this emotional journey!
Ok, this novel was not exactly what I had imagined it would be, no, it was so much more!
The characters are amazing and the world building is top notch. The flow of the plot keeps you wanting more. I couldn't read it in one setting but I would have if I could. And the cliff hanger!!!! Gonna be exhausting waiting for the next book, but I'll be excited when it releases.

Sally is in a complex situation with her contract binding a demon named Adrian to her. As an illium, he has certain needs that are hard to manage alone, so they decide to explore a ménage relationship with Ethan, a co worker.
This book truly has it all—intense spice, emotional bonds that don’t go as planned, and elements of ghosts and demons. The angst is palpable, and that ending leaves you craving more. I'm definitely eager for the next book!
I really enjoyed reading this one as you don't see much of this. Now searching for a third in the relationship. The eye falls on Ethan and he is a psychic and can see the dead. At first not to thrilled but Ethan is quickly asking for more and oh boy. I love the uniqueness of the pairing and I now need more for sure. What was also amazing that how the author approached the relationship with a trio and the dynamic shift in it. Looking forward to the next!
