In her most thrilling novel to date, author Pamela Martin transports readers from the ultra-secret Bohemian Grove to the streets of Washington D.C., and back again to the hallways of power inside and outside the White House.
Heralded for masterfully intermingling world politics and economics in her acclaimed thriller Hard Whispers, Martin has crafted another novel in which nothing is as it seems—and behind every corner is a stunning surprise. Waking the Dragon is heart-pounding fiction at its finest.
Pamela Martin writes thriller novels and is an outspoken pundit who squares off on subjects of intriguing debate. Pamela served as Chairwoman of the Luxury Marketing Council in Texas and is a partner at De la Rosa Holdings since 1997. She supports numerous charities and her passion besides writing is nature and the outdoors. Pamela's interest in writing bloomed as a young adult, when she became fascinated learning about historical issues such as the Watergate hearings, conspiracy theories, government coverups like 911, the Kennedy assassination, MK Ultra & the Secret Space programs. Pamela has a degree in business, has studied law and is licensed in real estate. She enjoys sharp shooting and archery.
In her debut novel Hard Whispers, you find yourself in a first rate thriller that wraps you in a covert plot of government action, classicism, and modern espionage that will keep readers turning pages long into the night.
Waking The Dragon, Martin's second novel delivers a one two punch with the series main character Pamela Graham back in action - dodging men in black suits while fighting paranoia - she is on a mission to save her father and stop a plot to assassinate a presidential candidate. As a planned rescue turns into a fiery ambush Ms.Graham uncovers a deadly act of betrayal that spans the globe.
Waking the Dragon comes packed with the twists and intrigue in true Pamela Martin style.
Good story line tied in with current world events. Hard to put down once you start reading. I was happy to see that the chapters in the book were short. One thing I hate chapters that go on and on forever. Looking forward to the next book in this series to see what lies ahead for Pamela and Alex.
This marvellous book, following on from Hard Whispers but standing alone as a novel must, is exciting from start to finish. An adventure story on the grand scale, in the tradition of John Buchan, it sweeps the reader off his feet on the first page and doesn't slow down until it deposits him, slightly out of breath, at the wonderfully satisfying conclusion.
I didn't love it quite so well as I did Hard Whispers, mainly because it doesn't have as much of the resourceful Pamela Graham, but I loved it quite well enough to give it five stars, and to look forward very enthusiastically to future offerings from this brilliant new author.
This follow -up book to Hard Whispers by Pamela Martin was just as action packed and entertaining as the original. Once again our heroine finds herself in the midst of intrigue and danger, endeavoring to foil a plot against a presidential candidate and stop a threat of world control by China. As a light read, I enjoyed the book thoroughly, however I was somewhat disappointed by the abrupt ending. Realizing there will most likely be (if there isn't already) a (Hard Whispers #3), I would have liked a better finish to this one.
It is a battle between East and West, good versus evil a.k.a. power.
Pamela Graham once again fights her paranoia after thwarting a government plot to kill millions of its citizens several years ago. As a new president candidate emerges and her adopted Russian son has ties with the Chinese president the lines gets murky.
She must decide what is right and wrong. A quick packed thriller that moves along.
