This is a bedtime story about a bedtime story. In this cute series, Author Andrew Weiner writes about an adult Andy who tells his daughter bed time stories about fantastic things that happened to him when he was a kid. I loved Daddy and the Beanstalk, a fantastic retelling in graphic novel form. The book goes back and forth between Daddy's bed time story and his daughter's commentary about his poor behavior. Daddy deserved to be chased by the giant, he shouldn't have stolen from him. In this cute story, Andy tells about how a mean wizard turns him into a frog because he was rude and insulting. The main story is cute and will entertain youngsters, but all the breakaway banter between Daddy and his daughter will delight the adults. Bethany Crandall's illustrations make this graphic novel a treat for youngsters.

This volume is as fun and educational as the first one. Told as a bedtime story to his daughter, we get a tale of the father's childhood set in New York and recognized hints of iconic places and museums. Great size and perfect for bedtime stories as well.
There is as much fun, silliness in the story as there are great life lessons and positive behavior. The art is sweet and goes well with the story and character types. It is easy to read and great for the classroom but also for family time.
The main character is turned into a frog during a class trip after meeting a wizard in Central Park. To break the curse, he needs to gather some silly fun elements, hotdogs included. Looking forward to the next story.

I was hoping for a story where an adult father gets turned into a frog. Instead, a father tells his daughter a bedtime story in which he, when he was a child, mouthed off to a random wizard in a park and got turned into a frog. It's pretty clear that he's making it up as he goes along. Being a boy, he doesn't want to kiss a girl, so instead he goes on a quest for ingredients to a potion.

Apparently, this is the second book in a series. I have not read the first book. The story was entertaining. The art was okay. My kids enjoyed it.

I love a book I can read with my kids that is not only entertaining for them, but also for me and results in a great life lesson at the end. We read Daddy and the Beanstalk and thoroughly enjoyed it, so we were very excited to received an advanced copy of The Frog Daddy. My daughter loved not only the story of Andy turning into a frog but how Andy, the author, brings his wife and daughter into the story as well. I appreciate a book that we can read as a family!

This story is super fun and perfect for young kids! It’s a creative and entertaining tale about a young boy who, after behaving rudely, gets turned into a frog. Not only is the story enjoyable and visually delightful, but it also teaches an important lesson about being respectful to others. A great read for kids!

Thank you for the ARC. I haven’t read a graphic novel since I was a kid. This was a fun read. It had lots of pictures which my son enjoyed. He likes frogs so the theme was appropriate. The pictures were great.

Read the book with my almost 7 year old son over three bedtime sessions. We loved the spirited character Estella who isn't shy about calling out her Dad's choices. The quest to reverse the spell placed on Andy and Wendy brought smiles and chuckles to our bedtime routine.

It was a funny book. I liked when the dad told the daughter about that he turned into a frog and his pet fox turned into a dog. I enjoyed the pictures. I would recommend this book to others!
