William G. Hyland Jr., a native of Virginia, received his B.A. from the University of Alabama and a J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. Before law school, he worked with a Top Secret security clearance for the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency in Washington, D. C. Hyland is a member of the Virginia and New York Historical Societies. He now lives and writes in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Easily The Best Book I Have Read This Year
William Hyland masterfully creates a universe springing to life with each page. Mr. Hyland's vivid descriptions of events drops the reader straight from the real world into his fictional playground. This book is perfectly written for those who love all things horror, mystery, and fantasy. The book allows you to read it without searching the dictionary for definitions, the words are commonplace, allowing the reader to effortlessly turn the pages, not breaking the imagination of the reader. Mr. Hyland's vision for the book is clear from page 1. He prioritizes the reader, and wonderfully weaves the reader through every plot point with his expertise in world building and humanizing his characters. This makes the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys reading, I cannot recommend this enough.

Your father who is a master illusionist and recently passed. Your mother disappeared years ago mysteriously and no one knows why. The will of her father states she must spend 3 nights in her father’s mansion where, on the 3rd night, her father will come back from the dead.

This was a pretty fun listen but just an ok read overall for me. I found the premise pretty interesting but found some things to be very predictable and was hoping for a more unique read. Perhaps this would be more in your wheelhouse?

I assumed going in that this wouldn’t be the best book based on how crazy the cover looks, but I really did not enjoy this one. There are a million things going on, and nothing is completely flushed out. The audiobook was well done, but that’s the only good thing I have to say at this point. There are other thriller books out that are more worth your time.
