Ruthie Godfrey has created another classic! Let's join Grandma in the kitchen to learn about cooking and life. Entertaining illustrations, helpful cooking tips, and insight into life make this book a great read with your kids. Perfect for home reading, classroom lessons, libraries and gifts.
Ruthie Godfrey’s books are usually 5 stars for me but this one is lacking. It’s extremely short, only 19 pages and aside from some humor in a few bits of artwork, the story is dry and on the verge of boring - very different from her other offerings!
There is an element of common sense but nothing our littles were drawn to. Sadly, this is a one and done for our gang📚
Grandma's Guide to Cooking & Life is a book that would be more beneficial to littles who are wanting to help out in the kitchen. Two-thirds cooking and safety tips plus a serving of double entendres for life, this book makes for a brief read.
I was off put by the illustrations with their awkward presented characters and neutral color palette for it just wasn't my style.
All in all it was a decent read with a warm grandmother to pass on the author's knowledge.
This is a delightful children's book containing some of the best ways to be a good cook. The author does not talk down to the reader. The whimsical illustrations by Pablo D'Alio add to the story without being a distraction.
