Over A Barrel
Bax took his best friend Tabi's hand when he was five years old and has never let go. But it's getting harder to stay just friends. The story takes place over 30 years and the events of one night—two lifelong friends who can't stop crossing the line. But they need to learn, or they'll lose everything, including each other.

It's a friends-to-lovers, opposites-attract story about the steamy and stormy history between US Senate Candidate Baxter Schroeder and bold, brash Sonoma vintner Tabitha Aganos. Best friends who think they can ignore fate.

TABITHAIn 24 freaking hours, I ended up catfighting, homeless, arrested for peeing on a duck, and my boob popped out à la Janet Jackson style during a formal event. This further proves my dad's point that I'm not ready to run our family winery. And then good ole, sexy-as-hell Bax figures out a way for me to adult. My best friend once again catches me as I free-fall. Work for him to prove I'm responsible and can be trusted. If anyone can help me "grow up" in my father's eyes, it's the most adult person I know.
Bax and I have steered clear of spending time together since he decided to run for Senate and become engaged because we mostly end up naked when left to our own devices. But this is a grown-up job I don't want to risk losing. I don't want to let down the only person who has always believed in me. I can keep the secret of our history tucked away, just like I can tuck my boob back in my bra and get on with not being in love with Baxter Schroeder.

Under The Bus
A friends-to-lovers story about brash and bold Vintner Tabitha Aganos and US Senate Candidate Baxter Schroeder. Two lifelong friends who think they can ignore fate. But something is coming that will make them reevaluate everything.

Bax
Hurricane Tabi dominates my campaign bus as well as the world around her. Just like I knew she could. We're clicking as friends and coworkers. Tabi's stepping into her own light and commanding my campaign staff with ease and grace. It fills my soul to watch.

But I never expected to need my best friend even more. I never wanted to admit how empty my life is without Tabi filling every moment of it. I have a campaign to run. A destiny to fulfill. I have the life I planned, but the life that's calling to me is getting too loud to ignore. We've finally put our steamy and stormy past behind us.

But that's the thing about the past. It never stays there.

There's a threat to my candidacy, our relationship, and my future, and finally, choosing the path not taken might just save us all.

I used to create "dreams" with my best friend growing up. We'd each pick a boy we liked, then we'd write down a meet-cute that always ended with a happily ever after.

Now I get to dream every day, although it's a little steamier these days. And I've discovered I can and will write anywhere I can. Keep tuned to Instagram to see all the times I fit in a sentence or two.

I'm a writer, married to a writer, mother of a creative dynamo of a nine-year-old boy and currently a little sleepy. I'm a klutz and goofball and love lipstick as much as my Chuck Taylors.

Good things in the world: pepperoni pizza, Flair pens*, wine, coffee, laughing with my friends until my stomach hurts, a musician at the top of their game, getting lost somewhere I've never been, matinee movies on a weekday, the Chicago Cubs, a fresh new notebook full of possibilities, bourbon on a cold night, Fantasy Football, witty men, walking through the local zoo in the rain and that moment when a character clicks in and begins to write their own adventure. I'm just the pen.

Over a Barrel - Tabi and Bax Part 1
Tabi and Bax, what a pair. Over a Barrel is just the start of their story. These two are so real and relatable, the hot and cold nature if their relationship will give you whiplash, but it's a great ride Ms. Kay is taking us on. The present day story is told over the course of one night and the following morning, broken into incidents that are interspersed with chapters of Tabi and Bax's history. Thrust together by their mothers on their first day of school, they become firm friends, best friends, growing up on their wineries in Sonoma. We get the highs and lows of their relationship, through school, through the pain of Bax losing his mother, into college and beyond, through all the changes their lives and relationships take, from being all in and needing the other to the not speaking, the love and respect for each other underpinning it all. The current day is happening on the eve of Bax's run for a Senate seat, he's back in Sonoma for a benefit with Shawna, the on and off girlfriend, now fiancée by his side. Tabi on the other hand, having spent the past decade studying the wine industry, working hard for her father’s respect and to have the Stafýlia winery finally turned over to her, is at a crossroads, her father unable to see how capable she is. The conclusion to this part of the story, just the start of the adventure to come.

Under the Bus – Tabi and Bax Part 2
This picks up where Over a Barrel left off, on the campaign trail. We get good Tabi and Bax interactions as they navigate the friendship side of their relationship while Bax is engaged to Shawna.
In this part of the story, we get breathtaking betrayal. The intrigue of the depth of the manipulative nature of a key figure will keep you hooked as it all unravels. Tabi runs again and hides, but Bax in finder mode, finds her and hangs on and we finally get to see these two in the relationship they're meant to have.
It's kind of epic getting to the end of the political battle, uncovering all the deception and making sure the right parties get what's coming to them while Bax and Tabi finally start to navigate their HEA. Great interactions from the families as Ms. Kay once again displays the found family nature of these strong friendships and how they rally when one of their own needs the support.
I've enjoyed this story immensely and reading it in this one volume is definitely the way to go, no need to wait for the conclusion you have to have.
Looking forward to more stories from the five families and this great world Ms. Kay has built for us to enjoy.

Emotional & Touching. I got totally invested, cried a lot, but it’s got a great storyline, there is a lot going on and I didn’t see it all coming. Of course it’s also very hot, it fairly sizzles in a good way.

Another epic volume this time telling the story of Tabi Aganos, FMC, and Bax Schroeder, MMC, from childhood connection thru many convoluted paths to their mid thirties. Kelly Kay breathes real life into her characters, as always, they are warts and all relatable.

Over A Barrel & Under The Bus, books 4 & 5, are the next installments in a long series of stories with deeply interconnected characters. The “Five Families”, each with their own winery based in the Sonoma region of California.

I read them back to back, they were gripping. Thank goodness there are many more to come and we will get to see Tabi and Bax’s story develop. I absolutely recommend them to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with spice, sass and intrigue.

Bax & Tabi have to be my favorites!

If you follow me at all you know just how big of a Kelly Kay fan I am, well this duet is one of the main reasons why.

Bax and Tabi grew up running around the vines in their families wineries. Being the only girl in the group of boys Tabi didn’t know how to be anything but 100 % who she is, which is a strong willed, outspoken woman who loves like she lives, unapologetically and with everything she has. Her story with Bax is going to make you laugh, yell and definitely blush.

In Volume 2 of the Sonoma Series you are going to get both books in Tabi & Bax’s duet plus some more goodies that Kelly thinks you are going to love. And I totally agree with her. Do not miss out on this!! Just don’t!

Sweet And Wicked
The two books in this series tell the story of the romance between Baxter and Tabitha, but they are very different in atmosphere. The first part deals with their childhood and young adult (until their mid thirties) romance and switches between now and then in a wonderful and very humorous way. In the second book politics enter and with it some very serious backstabbing. But fortunately with a very HEA. The other persons of their generation are there as well and again these books bind all of them together, even when it is perfectly ok to read them as stand-alone. But I would say: give yourself the joy to read all of them, you’ll find yourself in the middle of Sonoma and the wine country!

This second volume is perfection. I loved the friends to lovers component. There's even banter for days between the characters. I was cracking up over it too. I also liked Tabi she's so fiesty. Then Bax he's a cinnamon roll golden retriever kinda guy, total swoon worthy. Overall, the storyline is well written with relatable and likable characters. I highly recommend reading this it doesn't disappoint.
