Sometimes you have to play the cards you’re dealt.
The Lucky Quark casino ship couldn’t have found a worse place to crash than Gressil Prime. If the planet’s vicious blizzards weren’t bad enough, deadly hurricane storms tear apart anything that enters the atmosphere. Nobody, not even the corporation behind the casino, has made it through to the crash site alive.
Yet.
Sheni and his spacer crew only steal from people who don’t deserve what they’ve got. Unfortunately, a penthouse robbery puts them in hot water with a crooked art dealer who loves nothing more than a high-stakes hunt. If they don’t cough up a small fortune, their heads will be the next trophies on her wall.
Good thing there are millions of credits still sitting in the Lucky Quark’s vault, just waiting for a crew desperate and stupid enough to rescue them...

What would you do in a 'do, or die' situation? A rob everything or save everyone situation?
Absolutely brilliant second book in this series. I am looking forward to the next instalment.
I love Alan, but for some reason, in my head, I change his name to Albert. Probably because my father-in-law is called Alan and I find him annoying. I even love Gecki, as moody ad she is. Sheni, well he ain't too bad, haha, for a human!
Brilliant series, has got me hooked on multiple worlds. There is life 'out there', I believe!
2025 52 Book Challenge - March Mini Challenge - 3) Prettiest Cover On Your TBR.
I don't think this book was as good as the first novel. The plot was decent, and set up well, but the characters were just way more annoying in this novel than before. It honestly felt like they were arguing all the time, and I was getting bored and skim reading every time the characters started talking.
Shadows in the snow by Tim Ashford. Shadows in the Stars, Book 2. I loved the cover and blurb of this book. This is the 22nd book I've read of this author. I love his books. I got into this book straight away. I did like Sheni and Gecki. I love the names. So unique. I read this book in two sittings. I couldn't put it down. I loved how the characters were described. It was like I was there watching everything happening. I did like the ending. I hope there is more to come.
Blurb. Four desperate thieves. One crystal egg. A debt that needs to be repaid.
Cast out by humanity yet burdened with a conscience, Sheni Dupont wouldn’t say he’s found his calling in space piracy. But in the cramped and rusty halls of the ship he shares with reptilian captain Gecki, starfish pilot Xotl and the weird green enigma known only as Alan, he may have found a home.
So when a loan shark threatens to repossess their ship if they don’t pay back the credits they’ve borrowed, the crew of the Silver Hart are forced to take the only job going – stealing a crystal egg from a backwater planet on the brink of cosmic destruction.
Unfortunately, they’re not the only pirates headed for Nasako. A routine heist soon becomes a fight for their lives, with the fate of far more than one hallowed egg at stake.
And somehow Sheni has to do the right thing without tearing his family of misfits apart…
Another getting out of a scrape adventure with the crew of the Silver Hart. This time trying to find 200000 credits to remain alive takes them on an adventure to a crashed casino space ship on an extremely inhospitable planet. How are they going to get out of this scrape? Another great read from T. W. M. Ashford set in his Dark Star Panoramia universe.
Sheni and Gecki get some bad intel and break into what they think is an empty apartment. After which they have one week to come up with 200,000 credits or face death. So they decide to find the crashed lucky quark casino ship and raid it for the credits. Another great pirate adventure follows! enjoyable read and would recommend!
Another fun romp, this time to an abandoned casino wreck in the middle of a massive snowstorm. Still love Alan. I just know that I'll enjoy a TWM Ashford space adventure book and there's number 3 coming out. I'm going to need a bigger bookshelf!
Another fun read from this Author and the Silver Hart crew this time going to a crashed casino space ship in the middle of a snowstorm. Great book I would recommend. Can not wait till book 3 is out.
I loved the first book in the series, and this one is a fantastic sequel! A band of lovable pirates, each with their own quirks, and deep down (some deeper than others!) they have good in their hearts. I can't wait for the next one! Highly recommend.
