A simple fugitive recovery assignment turns into another misadventure when Butch Quick meets Sharon Fitch, a Paradise Valley street dealer turned police informant. The scum of Paradise Valley is about to find out just how ugly Butch can get.

A Face Full of Ugly is one of a couple of novellas in support of Brian Knight's first novel in the new series The Misadventures of Butch Quick, there's also Big Trouble in Little Boots and the novel Sex, Death & Honey.
It doesn't matter where you start in the series, each works well as a stand-alone piece.
This one starts with our hero, Butch Quick, tied to a chair, cuffed with his own hand-cuffs and being beaten silly by Brick Houser. Once again the dialogue is crisp, witty and a lot of fun. Says Brick, "Maybe I just want to see if I can make that ugly mug of yours a little uglier...you've already got a face full of ugly, but I bet we can fit a bit more on there for you."
The characters are rich and well developed for a story of this length. There's the damsel in distress, Sharon Fitch, who jumped bail for possession and is the reason for Butch's being in his present situation. You see, Butch works as a bounty hunter for his Uncle Higheagle's Bail Bond company, did I mention Butch is Native American, seven feet tall and 300 pounds? Seems Butch isn't the only one looking for Sharon.
There's also the man who posted Sharon's bail, Professor Gary Charles who is one helluva fun character. The man Butch refers to as "Professor Pull My Finger" after their encounter.
As suggested by the name of the series, things rarely go as planed for Butch, of course, if they did these stories would not be nearly as much fun.
Brian Knight has really created a winning character. Butch Quick is funny, gritty, and you need to get to know him. "A Face Full Of Ugly" has action, mystery, and lots of laughs. Reading this book was like watching an episode of your favorite TV show. You just can't wait for next week so you have have another fix!
Lucky for us there is more of Butch in "Sex, Death & Honey: From the Misadventures of Butch Quick" is available for download or in print, and Big Trouble in "Little Boots - From the Misadventures of Butch Quick." Both of these highly entertaining. Enjoy!
This is a comedic read on a bounty hunter who manages to chase down bad luck (rather than it finding him) .
The BH is a big fellow who is on a retrieval case and manages to land into one weird encounter after another. Each becomes more dangerous and a fairly easy retrieval becomes fraught with comedic hijinx and err.
Cannot say much else or will spoil. Will say that there are "laugh out loud " parts that keep the pace moving as nicely as the wry self analysis our BH manages to relay.
Butch Quick is a Bail Bondsman as big as a tree, not very smart, and is unlucky as heck. This story starts with him getting his face pounded into a pulp by two unsavory types who are trying to get information out of him about a girl they are trying to find. It's just another bad day for Butch. It started earlier in the day as a simple find a woman named Sharon who fled bail and bring her back to his uncle who owns the bail bonds company. Of course it doesn't turn out simple, and it turns out extremely hairy.
This story is like a P.I. type of crime novel, it is violent but full of humor. Simply it's a fun action ride that'll have you laughing through the story and enjoying the action and style of the story. It's a type of story I don't read often and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Recommended.
