حسّ‌ام در مواجهه با نظرات مک‌اینتایر، تا حدودی تداعی‌کننده‌ی احوال‌ام در برخورد با ویتگنشتاین بود؛ متفکّری انقلابی که پایه‌های باورهای جزمی دورانی از علم اخلاق، فلسفه و اندیشه‌ی سیاسی را تحت قدرت نقد خودش به سوآل می‌کشاند و به چالش می‌برد. مک‌اینتایر نشان می‌دهد که علم اخلاق دچار گسست شده است و از «فضیلت» صرف نظر کرده است؛ یا این‌که عقلانیّت در بستر (و مقیّد به) سنّت شکل می‌گیرد و محصور در آن است. نقدهای او به جان رالز و فردباوریِ لیبرالیزم، و ضمناً آراء کلامی و الاهیاتی او، همه و همه، الهام‌بخش‌اند و روشن‌گر. کتاب وینستین، به‌حقّ، مدخل خوش‌خوانی به زندگی و نظراتِ این فیلسوفِ منتقد فلسفه‌ی تحلیلی ست. ترجمه‌ی کاوه بهبهانی هم مثل همیشه خیلی خوب
