This was such a fun and spicy read with just the right touch of suspense. It kind of felt like a modern-day Goldilocks—only Violet’s got Alpha males as her protectors instead of bears. After a blind date and an exclusive party with some shady DC big shots, Violet finds herself in serious danger. She barely escapes and reaches out to her friend Luke, a former Marine Special Forces leader, who brings in his old teammate Max to protect her.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Violet and Max. There’s definitely tension (the good kind!), and their chemistry builds as they try to stay ahead of whoever’s targeting her. It had me flipping pages late into the night.

This is the first in a series, and I’m already excited to see what’s next—especially how the rest of the team adjusts to life after the military and who the next leading lady will be.

This book was too much too soon. It was insta-love but because of the situation didn’t feel real. I think the author mixed up tropes, since some lines sounded more like something a supernatural being would say.

It is a fast paced book with dual POV that sometimes is not easy to distinguish since both main characters have very similar "voices". The book’s idea -the political schemes, the action, a reporter being involved- was great and it had so much potential but the execution wasn’t done correctly.

This was a great action packed romance! You have Vi who seems to have been having bad luck times ten lately and Max who is determined to wallow in his depression after having lost his brother Alex. When Vi ends up in a whole bunch of trouble Luke calls Max to help get Vi to safety, which turns out to be harder than they thought. Will everyone make it out okay and will Luke protect his family? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This read in 3rd POV AND it took me a few pages to get used to it. This was a good and fast read with plot and spice. Since this was a short book there was that instant love feel to it. Overall, it was a good palette cleanse for me and I had fun with it.
