1st, the author's name is "tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE". Because of algorithms and their slaves his name is corrupted in two ways on Goodreads, making his full 22 books not display in either of the 2 entries. Here's the link to the other page: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Anyway, he was born, he proceeded to do his damnedest to try to undermine reality maintenance traps, aka the dominant paradigms. While it's more than a little debatable whether he's succeeded even a smidge in this area few would deny that he's given it ye olde anti-college try.
He's been busy in at least 66 cities in at least 14 countries. He's been an off-center figure in quite a few underground movements - including, but not limited to, Anarchism, Neoism, Nuclear Brain Physics Surgery School, Krononauts, etc.
He's on the cusp of turning 71. It's his ambition to live to be about 123 so he can outlive the oldest person on record and so that he can outlive his manymies. He fully expects to not make it.
review of tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE's How to Write a Resumé: Volume II: Making a Good First Impression - revised 3rd edition in DEAD color by tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE - October 7, 2024E.V.
The 1st edition of this was originally my 2nd bk written (1988) & my 3rd published (1989). I tried to get more mainstream publishers interested in it but the only person who wanted to publish it was sorely criticized by his co-editors. Alas, he died of cancer shortly thereafter at a young age. Some of the rejection letters I got were entertaining & have been reproduced in my bk footnotes. The 2nd edition was 72pp longer than the 1st & was published in 1991. Both editions were small & went out of print almost immediately. Now, 33 yrs later, I've finally produced the 3rd edition.
I love this bk. It's pretty much the only one I ever wrote that had some small popularity. It's about my life roughly from ages 19 to 38. I can say, w/ all due immodesty, that I've never led a particularly normal life & that's an understatement. The stories in this bk give a pretty good taste of what life is like on the lunatic fringe. I had plenty of friends but I'm the one who took the risks. Many of the chapters are headed "Impractical Seriousness" - wch, in case it isn't obvious, is a take-off of "Practical Jokes", there's plenty of tricksterism here. Here's the brief promotional material I've put online about it:
This is an autobiography (of sorts) covering mainly 1972 to 1990 (and beyond in a cursory manner). There have been two previous very small editions with no ISBN number. This edition has been created to make the book in print again. Photographs that were previously presented in black and white are, in many cases, now in color and in better resolution. The author's life has been far from placid and this book presents that without being sensationalist or even too obvious. OR SO THE AUTHOR (me) MIGHT CLAIM.
tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE is the 'master' set that also includes Michael Frederick Tolson who was born in 1953 back when everyone was only a few feet tall & when people were mainly telepathic. A lot has changed since then. Now everyone is taller and has a rectangular appendage that they consult as an oracle. tENT (as he's known to his 3 or 4 friends) is a natural born anarchist who seems heck-bent on undermining 'reality' maintenance traps and catalyzing paradigm shifts. Sound pretentious to you? Try not reading it aloud. But, really, tENT is practically a demon - everything people say about him that's insulting and malicious gossip is 100% true - even if it in no way jives with the personal experience of the speaker. Well, no, this bio is fuckin' with you - does it feel good? Actually, what can I say? The author is too humble to make any positive claims about himself - despite their all being absolutely true. So what that he's made 753 movies, 232 of which are feature-length. Who cares? Why my unborn grad-daughter could do that in a matter of days. So what if he's given 458 'performances' to date? Most people could do that, no problem, if they weren't so busy doing not much of anything. Wait! Is this a bio or what? Ok, ok, tENT has traveled over large parts of the world trying to inject a little PSYCHOLOGICAL PLAYFAIR wherever he goes and being largely successful at it (according to him/me). You'd love him! Really, take my whirred for it [pun intended].
