Where the Rivers Flow: Exploring the Sources of Faith Development

Rate this book
Scott Walker’s Where the Rivers Flow is a memoir of the author’s growth from a childhood acceptance of God to a maturing Christian commitment. But this is more than one man’s story. It is a study of the significant factors that contribute to the growth of faith for all believers. Walker draws on the stories of his own faith development to illustrate his conviction that faith grows in the convergence of many 'rivers' or contributing factors into one strong force for God. Where the Rivers Flow is an invaluable source of insight for anyone who is seeking to integrate the realities of life with personal faith. College and seminary students who are encountering critical religious studies for the first time are likely to find this book especially helpful. It also serves as an excellent tool for pastors, teachers, counselors, and small-group leaders.

This is one of the books that first got me thinking about the ways that my personality, my family, and my environment have shaped who I am. It's an oldie but goodie!
