Those with a hankering for architecture will enjoy this book. As part of my Diploma of Horticulture I completed a subject in restoring parks and gardens which included a review of Australian housing styles. The 1920s and 1930s were a fascinating period including the Arts & Crafts, Spanish Mission and Tudor Revival styles. Although this book takes most of its examples from southern states (well, it wasn't really practical building brick edifices in the tropics, still isn't in my opinion) you get a good understanding of the origins of each style and their Australian proponents.
