FINN I’ve always taken life seriously. After all, I was born to be CEO of my family business, a multi-billion-dollar empire. I just wish Dad hadn’t held me back from taking over sooner, instead of insisting I live my life before settling down. None of us could have predicted his sudden death, which thrust me into the leadership role overnight. And although it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted, once I’ve got it, I can’t seem to do anything right. Then Holly Brown crashes into my life armed with a breezy attitude and a wild idea. I’m desperate enough by now to go along with it, and I admit she’s a breath of fresh air to be around. Will her outrageous plan work? Or will it end up causing more problems than it solves?
HOLLY Speak first, think second. That’s what happened when I arrived at Finn Davenports office one morning to find him on the verge of losing his job. I don’t know what possessed me to blurt out that my boss, who I’ve met only once before, is my secret boyfriend but here we are. It doesn’t hurt that I need a date for an upcoming wedding, so as long as no one finds out it’s all a lie, we’ll both benefit from this. What could go wrong?
Overnight Boss is an open door, fake-dating contemporary romance. Holly and Finn will make you laugh and make you cry, as they take you on a journey where the dating is fake, but the emotions are real.
First off an Aussie billionaire MMC & one bed trope? I was immediately hooked. I got to read this as an ARC which I’m super grateful for! I was a bit more fast paced than I’m used to but I did really like it. This is a fake dating romance with Finn, recent CEO & Holly who works for the company. After his father passed suddenly, he became the CEO of his dads company overnight. He was kind of known as a playboy partier and no one trusted he could run a company. Holly, was in a predicament herself: her ex boyfriend was bringing his new girlfriend to their friends wedding in two weeks. The two of them decided to start fake dating to help out both their situations… I’ll let you find out the rest 😉
Favorite quotes: “Now watch. The. Show.” “Who am I to argue if the lady says we need more practice.” “If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not doing it right.”
The title and blurb of this book convinced me to apply for an ARC and, thanks to Lila May, I was able to read this book🤗.
Finn lost his father and he is forced to took his place at his company, even though he is yet pretty young and inexperienced. That's something which will impact him later in the story. He is also a playboy, everytime being seen with another girl at his side. Something with the other members of the company do not agree.
Holly has been dumped by his boyfriend, which immediately started dating one of Holly's best friends. Things will go worse after Holly finds out that they will also be present to one of their common friends wedding. And she really didn't want to go there by herself.
Only a couple of minutes will change Holly and Finn's lives, after Holly just confesses, while being at work, that she is Finn's girlfriend. Who, by the way, is her indirect boss. Things will become even more complicated, being pretty hard to fake everything in the beginning and time won't help them much, because both of them were growing feelings toward each other, which made the situation even more tricky. They don't even know if everything they have is for real or it's a pretend.
This book was pretty relaxing and I liked that the characters had been crayoned from their weak side too and that in a good way, because nobody is perfect. Finn was such a softie underneath his fierce facade and Holly was always very expressive, when it came to show her feelings. She was pretty clumsy, but her personality definitely made Finn more attracted to her. They had a love-hate relationship, from not knowing each other too well in the beginning.
I had a great time reading this one, always happy to have a dose of grumpy/sunshine and fake relationship🤭.
ARC Review This was such a fun and sweet read! Perfect for anyone in need of a refreshing romance with a bit of spice.
Finn, the charismatic playboy, is suddenly thrust into the role of CEO after his father's passing. With his reputation on the line, he needs to clean up his image fast. He’s grumpy and reluctant to settle down but can be the perfect guy when he needs to reassure his girl.
"Listen to me,” I hissed. “You’re fucking amazing. In and out of bed. I’ve never known a girl to respond like that, and it was fucking hot. Don’t you ever let anyone tell you that you’re less than perfect."
Holly, the sweet yet fiery heroine, is always looking out for others. She needs a date for her friend’s wedding, and Finn becomes her fake boyfriend. Their chemistry and character growth are well done, and their dynamic pulls you in. While the plot is a bit predictable, it's still a thoroughly enjoyable read.
The spice? Sizzling!
I’m usually not a fan of miscommunication tropes, but this book handled it without dragging things out too much. Definitely worth a read!
Special thank you to Lila May for giving me an eARC of her book!
Okay!!! This book managed to pull me in and I read it in one sitting!! I was GLUED. The storyline was captivating and spice was spicing 😂 The only thing I wish there was more of was more story…. Finn and Holly’s story came to an end too soon😩 I would’ve liked to see more moments together❣️ ‼️Overnight Boss comes out NOV 14‼️
Finn is a CEO and needs help getting his ratings up or he will lose his job. To make it seem like his playboy ways are in the past, he must find a girlfriend. Holly actually works for Finn and needs a date to her best friend’s wedding. So what’s the obvious plan? Fake date to fool everyone around, but of course sparks fly!!❤️
Thank you @lilamayauthor for my ARC❤️
Tropes: 🌹Fake Dating 🌹Grumpy & Sunshine 🌹Only One Bed 🌹Boss & Employee 🌹Road Trip 🌹Dual POV
I was feeling a little iffy about this story at first but really picks up quick and is super fast paced. I stayed up until 2am to finish this book it was that good. Don’t let the cutesy cartoon cover fool you, this book was s p i c y! This was honestly some of the best spice I have ever read. It felt incredibly romantic, intimate, realistic, passionate and just plain hot. The cherry on top was one of the most satisfying and perfect conclusions I’ve ever read. I am a sucker for an mmc with a filthy mouth who doesn’t tolerate anyone disrespecting his girl. Finn is top tier book boyfriend material.
Also not to be dramatic, but I would die for Ron Swanson 🐈
A special thank you to Lila May for giving me an eARC of this book. I truly loved it so much and can’t wait to read the next one!
I just finished Overnight Boss by Lila May, and I have thoughts. Did I spend the entire day on my couch reading this book and ignore every single other responsibility? You bet I did. From the very first page, I was sucked in so deep - UNPUTDOWNABLE. If you love grumpy x sunshine, boss x employee, and fake dating tropes, then you are about to be just as obsessed as I am.
Let’s talk characters. Finn? Swoon. He’s the billionaire CEO with all the grumpy, broody, I-don’t-have-time-for-this energy, and trust me, that man is a walking disaster of perfection. He’s tough, all business, and seriously grumpy—until Holly enters the picture. She’s sunshine personified, but here’s the thing—she needs some eye candy for an upcoming wedding to make her ex jealous. Enter Finn. Fake dating at its finest.
The tension between these two? It’s unreal. Finn is all about keeping things professional, but Holly brings out a side of him he wasn’t ready for. He falls harder than he ever expected—and when I say harder, I mean this man goes from grumpy CEO to a golden retriever who can’t stop thinking about her. And let me just say, when the one bed trope comes into play? Oh my god. The tension is off the charts. Sharing a bed is like the ultimate test, and I was absolutely screaming for them to finally give in. And when they do? Explosion.
But what really sells this story is the character development. Finn may start off as the guy who thinks work is his only priority, but watching him soften for Holly? My heart. And Holly—she’s not just looking for a distraction—she finds her own strength and realizes she deserves so much more. They balance each other out perfectly, and it was so satisfying to watch them grow.
If you want a book that will steal your attention, make you laugh, get your heart racing, and leave you swooning from start to finish, Overnight Boss is THE book to pick up when it drops on November 14. Trust me, Lila May has created a masterpiece here, and I am here for it!
When Finn says, "My mind's been on you. Your smile, your laugh"..."The way you hum to yourself when you think no one's watching". GIIIIIIIIIIIRL
The banter in this book!!! The MMC and FMC had such fun chemistry, I lapped it up. Genuinely chuckled through a lot of this.
This is a workplace fake dating romance. Finn needs to clean up his image to ensure his board don’t vote him out as CEO since he took over his dad’s company after his death, and Holly is desperately needing a date to a friend’s wedding after learning that her ex is bringing a plus one - his new girlfriend, and a friend of Holly’s!!
The awkward tension during the Finn and Holly’s first encounters as they try to get to know each other better to pull the fake relationship off was so well written - you could feel it and it made for such a fun and exciting read.
For me, once they got together though, I felt like we lost their banter which was a shame because it was my favourite thing. The fire also felt a bit random, and everything after that wasn’t as fun and gripping to me as the first half of the book. I would’ve loved to get a bit more emotional angst for their journey to finally being together. The confessions felt like they came a bit quick for me, as if a few chapters/scenes were missing. There was just something missing for me in the latter half of the books.
That being said - The spice scenes were smokin’ and I was here for it!!
If you’re looking for a fun, low angst, open door, fake dating romance - I’d recommend!
Fave quotes: “If you were my real girlfriend, I’d whisk you away for some alone time” “If I was your real girlfriend, I’d let you”
“We might be faking our relationship, but your body isn’t faking anything.”
“There’s no clutter. Where’s your pile of stuff?” “What stuff?” “Like your mail and bills and things” “Mail and bills? Maybe they’re in the nineties where they belong” 😂
“And what will your safe word be?” “You think you can make me uncomfortable, Holly?”
Lila May is a new author to me but I'm glad I have found her as I really enjoyed this book. I'm becoming a sucker for Billionaire Bosses. Finn is a different type of Boss. After the loss of his father he suddenly becomes the CEO of the family business. It was always the plan but he thought he had more time to learn the ropes, this just isn't how it happened though. With Finn's reputation on the line and the press having a field day with pictures being leaked and taken out of context, he finds himself wanting to prove more than anything that he is capable of running the company and doing it well.
Holly works for the same company but in a different department. Reeling from a break up and finding out her ex will be at their friends wedding with a plus one, she drowns her sorrows. Not wanting to let her best friend down she tells her she has a boyfriend thinking this will ease her friends concerns. But her friend is only too happy to invite Holly and her boyfriend to the wedding.
When Finn helps a drunken Holly home the press thinks he's upto his playboy ways. Holly and Finn decide to fake date to save his reputation and so she can have a date to the wedding but as the time goes on and feelings start to blur, is it fake at all?
Holly was a great sunshine character to Finn's sometimes grumpy demeanor and I loved the dynamics of the office setting. This was portrayed really well and Finn was so great at making Holly feel special and wanted.
"Don't look away Holly," he says.."I want you to see what I see. I want you to know how beautiful you are"
"I love it when I make you blush"
"I've been thinking about how I can make your entire body blush with just my mouth"
A real cute romance with some drama and villains thrown in. Definately worth checking out.
Overnight boss is an enemies-to-lovers, workplace, fake relationship romance.
Finn is a people pleasing, trying to get his newly acquired company's approval. After his dad unexpectedly passes away, Finn is slated to take over the family company. The only problem is....his dad never had time to teach him the company ways. He's been thrown in the deep end. Still a recovering man-whore, party boy, no one in his company or the public view seems to think he is fit for the job.
Holly is a marketing employee at DRG. Her best friend is getting married, and her ex is invited to the wedding...with his new boo. A former friend of Holly's. When her best friend tells her he is bringing the new boo, Holly blurts out that she has a boyfriend (oops) and will be bringing him to the wedding (double oops).
One night, DRG employees are gathered at a bar near their workplace. Holly's friends decide to go home, and she's drunk. Like, drunk drunk. So she decides to wait for a cab to come pick her up. Only problem is...there aren't any cabs and she doesn't use Uber. Enter Finn. He offers to have his car take her home. They are photographed together. In order to save his image and perhaps sign a big deal, Holly offers to be his fake girlfriend. Can they keep their feelings aside for the entirety of the relationship and improve Finn's image to the public?
Overnight Boss was a cute but spicy romance. The open-door scenes were *fans self* HAWT, and Finn's character development over the book was so cute. Both Holly and Finn deserved their HEA, and I'm glad they put aside their differences to see it out. Highly recommend!
This is my first approach to Lila May’s writing, and I’ve read this book in one day (with an adult life in the meantime). In this book we find Holly, a manual sunshine girl with an asshole as an ex and a coming friend’s wedding she has to attend alone in front of her ex and his new girlfriend. On the other hand, we find Finn, the future (if anything) CEO of his family company after the tragic and suddenly death of his father. He’s being struggling with bad popularity because of his youth and past night sprees. They meet by chance in a bar and after a rough conversation and a public appearance, they find themselves faking a relationship. This is a fake relationship romance book by manual, and if you like the following topics, please, I can’t encourage you to read this book. This book hooked my heart and until the last page, I couldn’t put it down. Please, I need some more epilogue scenes!!!!! 🥹 Tropes you can find in this book: - Fake relationship - Office romance - Millionaire grumpy/super sunshine - Dual POV - Boss/employee - One bed This book is an open-door book, with some (low) spicy scenes and dirty talk. I’d like to recall that this is a subjective item, I can understand some readers could find this book spicier than what I thought. I think the best way to check this out is reading this book 😉 My ratings: 4/5⭐️ 1,5/5🌶️ I’ve received this book as an ARC and I’d like to thank Lila May and her team for letting me read in advance this book and give my honest opinion about it. ❤️
Lila May's romance Overnight Boss writes the details of love, fragility as and ambition with an electrifying energy in every beat! Finn Davenport is a man whose carefully crafted world starts to crumble under the weight of emotions he never anticipated; his silence speaks volumes. Holly, on the other hand, floods every scene with a vitality and resolve that makes her a formidable presence due to her strength and wit. What starts as a simple agreement becomes something very personal as their fake dating plan develops with a tension that seems real and unfiltered! . The nuance of the characters and the way they interact to show their shortcomings and their room for development are what make this book outstanding! Finn is a strong businessman, but beyond his cold appearance lies a guy struggling with responsibility, shame, and a longing for connection. Holly is more than just his antagonist; she is a figure whose unwavering quest for her own goals makes her setbacks and victories remarkably sympathetic! . The plot created by Lila May's writing is one of sensitivity and vibrancy! Finn and Holly's conversations are characterized by tense silences and snatches of conversation. The plot doesn't go quickly; instead, it lets the characters develop and the emotional significance of their journey develop organically. Their connection feels earned rather than expected because of the honest proportions of passionate moments and meaningful disclosures! . The messy, emotional, and painfully real nature of Finn and Holly's story is what makes it so unforgettable despite its flaws. May has crafted a really unforgettable tale of love that is as much about two individuals coming together as it is about self-discovery. This is my second book from Lila and I can say she's in the road to become one of the best romance Writer, I just love her compelling prose so much!
“I’ll never stop making it up to you. You deserve the world, princess, and I’m going to give it to you.”

Thoughts: 💭
Omg not only was this funny but it was so cute! When I started this book I was saying “Ok I’m going to like this, the FMC is a literal queen.” This book had made my 16hr shifts go by fast! So the rate is a 5/5✨ Both of the main characters are so funny and trouble makers. But the one side character I despised was Jaime. Like let’s not get me talking but he can legit jump off a cliff for all his actions he has done to Holly. Girl did not deserve that all. But hey at least karma got him good. 😂 But Holly was such a great character, I personally liked her to be honest. Besides being a bit stubborn she knew what she wanted. Then her friend Issy. Love the way Issy is encouraging her to do better and to get a new man! Lol love that of her. Then Finn, lord have mercy when his POV chapter came out I was like this guy has to much pride. But what can I say something happened in his life that changed the course of his path. When he met Holly, off the bat I knew he was going to fall harder for her. The way he was taking care of her though when they were fake dating was everything! 😩 He knew what he was doing but he kept telling himself that it’s fake. Finn you knew what you were doing since the “first date”. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves: 1) Fake dating 2) He falls harder 3) Romcom

ARC review
Holly and Finn are an adorable couple. Lila May did a great job bringing this story to life.
I was pulled in from the beginning. Holly is relatable for me. Holly moves to be closer to her best friend of college after a break up. She is working in marketing at Finn’s company. With a pending wedding of another friend she and Izzy come up with a plan to find a date to make her ex jealous and have a plus one.
Events at a bar lead to Finn in the papers with yet another twisted story that he is a “player”. This is where he and Holly meet. While he had good intentions to ensure she safely made it home after a night of indulging a report takes a picture of him ushering her into his car.
He is working to prove himself as the CEO for the company his dad started. Holly sees the picture of them in the papers. She goes to apologize but overhears Penny, Head of PR, telling Finn he royally messed up again. Holly jumped to save face for him by stating they are dating. From there Finn and Holly go on to keep the story alive of their relationship. Of course they have miscommunications while falling for each other. Things blow up around them with the fake dating. Holly comes to the rescue at the end exposing the truth of who leaked the story of the fake relationship and behind the scene trying to sabotage Finn
You cannot go wrong with this read.

The main character, Holly, needs a fake date for an upcoming wedding after finding out her ex will be there with his new girlfriend. She is quick on her feet and may blurt out that she and her boss, Finn, are dating to help him out. Finn, a billionaire CEO, is working to keep his job. After his father unexpectedly passes away, he is left to fill a big role and convince others he can, too.
Overnight Boss is a very fast-paced, romcom read. Holly is a very bright sunshine character trying to make the best out of the situation. In contrast, Finn is the classic broody businessman. There were a lot of charming moments between the two as well as some spicy scenes. The timeline was quick and to the point, not giving too many details where they weren't needed. A huge part of this book was the miscommunication, I do feel like it caused a disconnect alone between the characters. There were so many natural moments in the story where they could have just talked to each other. It also felt like there were some rushed bits of plot, I would have loved for these to be foreshadowed a bit more to make it sink in.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Spice rating: 🌶️ My favorite tropes of this read: Fake-dating, One bed, Grumpy x Sunshine
Thank you to Lila May for letting me read this ARC copy! I am excited to read more from you!
Overnight Boss by Lila May This was a cute, fun read! It was a short read that left me wanting more of Finn and Holly 🥰
4/5 ⭐️ 3/5 🌶️
This book pulled me in and didn’t let me go! I finished it in a day! It had me laughing and giggling throughout. Despite it being a short read, the characters are well developed and their growth as people doesn’t feel rushed or sudden. Finn is a grumpy CEO determined to prove himself to the board and live up to his father’s legacy. Then Holly comes along and throws his plans for a loop. She brings out a side of him he didn’t expect but he embraces it. Holly was determined to get back out on the dating scene after her ex moved on. Seeing as they were both attending a friend’s wedding, she made up a fake boyfriend! They help each other realize they are so much more than the expectations placed upon them and with each other they find their own way in life 💖
This author does a really good job of building tension between the characters, that make the spicy scenes spicier! The attention to detail in these scenes is *chef’s kiss* 💋
I highly recommend and I hope many more people get to experience Finn and Holly 🥰
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
After the tragic and unexpected death of his father, Finn must take over as CEO. His father built this wildly successful business from the ground up and Finn has a lot to prove. He needs to reform his playboy image.
Holly is attending her friends wedding in a few weeks. The bad news is her ex-boyfriend is also attending and he’s bringing his new girlfriend.
Holly and Finn decide to help each other with a fake dating scheme. Will fake dating turn into the real thing?
I had such a fun time reading this grumpy/sunshine story with only one bed. Finn seemed to transform throughout the story from stuck up and immature to chivalrous and thoughtful. At the start, Holly appeared ditzy and disorganized but through the wedding weekend her maturity shined through. I ended up really admiring her character. The spice is such a treat in this book, not overwhelming but the door is as open as it gets.
I am a sucker for fake dating with a happily ever after and if you are, you’ll love this book.
Thank you to Lila May for the chance to read this book early! Cheers to you!
This is the second book I have had the pleasure of receiving an arc of- the first being ‘Sassy Bennet Doesn’t Do Romance’ and when I saw that this book was open for ARCs, I ran like the wind.
Finn is CEO of his dad’s company after his passing. Finn is known for being in the papers due to his ‘playboy’ lifestyle. Issy needs a boyfriend to attend her friend’s wedding, where her ex is attending with his new flame. Issy works for Finn and accidentally blurts out that they are dating. Finn agrees to fake date to better his image for the company.
I read this far too quickly-in about four hours. I demolished it. I absolutely loved this book; I loved how cute and caring Issy was, how she took life by the horns and tried new things and how she clearly adored Finn.
Finn was just hardcore sexy. I think I fell in love with him the minute he opened his gawd darn beautiful mouth. He had a lot to prove to others, but most importantly, to himself. I really enjoyed seeing his character evolve.
The romance was INCREDIBLE. I wasn’t expecting how HOT they would be together.
If you love a fake dating romance, this one is for you.
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Story: 📖📖📖📖📖 Amount of Spice: 💥💥💥 Quality of Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
ARC Review
▪️Summary: I laughed and I cried while reading this book. This was such a cute fake dating and office romance story and I loved the HEA. The spice started about at the halfway mark, but the entire book was interesting and hard to put down. Things really picked up at the wedding they attended together!
▪️Characters & Story: Finn and Holly make such a cute couple. Finn is authoritative, being a CEO, and also happens to be the office hottie. He is fiercely protective of Holly, especially after he realizes his feelings, and doesn't accept her feeling like she's not enough. Holly is selfless and kind, and supports Finn through all of the rough patches they go through.
▪️Spicy Scenes: The spice was relatively vanilla but still very hot! Finn is always telling Holly how amazing she looks and feels. And the bathroom scene?! 🥵 you'll just have to read it for yourself to see!
My first 5 🌟 read of November! Make sure to look out for Overnight Bossby Lila May coming out November 14th to Kindle eBooks.
-A Fake-Dating Romance -Office Romance -Grumpy × Sunshine -Dual POV
I'm a huge sucker for all the miscommunication in Fake-Dating tropes and this one did not disappoint. From Holly and Finn's first encounter I knew this was going to keep me turning the pages and not be able to put this book down because I needed to get more of thier interactions and story.
I loved Holly and Finn's story with the build -up romance that held so much tension and the perfect amount of spice for this duo. I felt like I could feel the tension between the two through the pages. Thier romance may have started out as Fake-dating but the emotions became very real as they took us through twists and turns throughout their story that had me laughing out loud, holding my breath, and wanting to cry throughout it.
This book was a delightful read that I couldn't stop reading. The characters were brilliantly written, and I enjoyed the plot, which was brilliantly developed.
A story of a young man forced to become CEO of a media company following the death of his father, but he has a reputation that may result in him losing the role, so he needs to come up with a way to show his board that he is ready for the role full time.
Holly works for the same company, and they met one night and Finn decides to take her home, and this negatively impacts Finn, so Holly suggests that they fake date until his board meeting and a wedding she is going to.
Finn is such a caring character who treats Holly so well, and spending time together leads to some not so fake feelings developing, and I enjoyed reading whether this fake limited time arrangement leads to something very real between Holly and Finn, their connection was so good and I loved how they got on.
This book was such a fun read that drew me in with the very first chapter and kept me entertained all the way to the last page. If you’ve been paying attention, you know fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and Lila handled it beautifully with this one! Holly is easily-flustered and the way she just blurts out any thought she has without thinking it through first is so relatable and definitely made me laugh out loud at times. Finn had me smacking my forehead saying “what possessed you to say that” so many times but it added to the storyline and banter perfectly! The character growth and timeline is not only realistic, but also swoon-worthy! Watching Finn go from grumpy CEO to friendly golden retriever? Obsessed. Lila May did an excellent job creating an enjoyable, light-hearted read with this book and I recommend anyone who enjoys a good rom-com to check it out! Thank you Lila for allowing me to be a part of your ARC team!!
ARC Review✨ Thank you so much Lila May and team for accepting me for and ARC Review and an EARC of Overnight Boss🥰
This book was such a fun and sweet read and as soon as I saw Fake Dating, I was ALL OVER IT!!!😍🤭 The spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 and the story captivated me. CEO and one of his employees fake dating for his public image and for her best friends wedding, because her ex and his new girl will be there!!! I just wish we had more moments of Finn and Holly because I felt their story came to such and abrupt end.🥺 Also, normally miscommunication is a huge ICK trope for me but the way this one was handled was very well done. It wasn’t drug out forever and I really appreciated that.😅 Finn may have to be added to my ever growing list of “Book Boyfriends”😍🤭
Also, Ron Swanson 🐈 was a 10/10 for me 😂🫶🏻
Tropes: Fake dating Grumpy x Sunshine Miscommunication Only One Bed Dual POV Boss x Employee Road Trip
This is the third and final book in a series but can be read as a standalone.🥰
Meet Finn, the buttoned-up CEO suddenly thrust into his father’s billion-dollar shoes, and Holly, whose “speak first, think second” approach leaves her accidentally claiming him as her “boyfriend” in a moment of pure chaos. Finn’s under pressure to prove himself in the boardroom, while Holly’s just trying to not look pathetic and single at her friend’s upcoming weekend-away wedding.
The spice level is just right—enough to keep the tension sizzling and make you blush, but with a playful sweetness that leaves you grinning. Finn and Holly’s chemistry practically leaps off the page, and each heated glance and stolen moment will have you rooting for them to take that “fake” label and toss it out the window.
If you love rom-coms with a fake-dating twist, an unexpected journey to true love, and the perfect dose of spice, Overnight Boss will absolutely charm you!
Finn and Holly agree to a fake dating arrangement as Finn is the interim CEO of his family's company. Finn needs to show stability to the board of directors, and Holly needs a wedding date. They both are very convincing as the ex-boyfriend at the wedding isn't happy. The board of directors seems impressed with the press articles about Finn's new relationship. All it takes is 1 kiss for Finn and Holly to start falling in love with each other. Neither wants to admit to themselves that this could be more.
The smeggsy between these two finally erupts, and I was there for it! The fake dating to lovers is a favorite trope of mine, and this fits the bill. I absolutely adored the mirror scene. 🥵
Thank you, author, for the ARC! Release Date: November 14, 2024
This book was so fun to read! I was up until 2am last night because I just couldn’t put it down. Perfect rom-com. Perfect spice. Perfect MMC. Less than perfect miscommunication trope (that’s where I knocked it down a star- only because I really have a hard time with this trope).
I’m kind of obsessed with Finn Davenport. He’s up there in my ranks of top MMC in my opinion. He’s funny, thoughtful, totally good looking, etc. & I’m completely here for the dating your boss/ billionaire (millionaire?) romance story that goes on in Overnight Boss.
Holly and Finn had me laughing out load this entire book. Their chemistry was off the charts - which made me really love this book.
ARC Review Time!! This book was such a fun, cute read! I absolutely loved both of the main characters. Once I started reading this I couldn’t put it down! Finn, is suddenly CEO after his dad passes and needs to clean up his image to keep his role as CEO. Holly, is one of his employees and needs a date to her friend’s wedding. And there begins your fake dating!! Of course, the feelings don’t stay fake for long and you’ll get to follow along on Finn & Holly’s journey as they discover how they actually feel about each other. Along the way you’ll also have to figure out just who is responsible for destroying Finn’s image. This book is out now and I highly recommend checking it out! Thank you so much Lila May for the ARC of this cute, spicy, romance read!
Fake dating? I’m literally gonna eaaaat that up every time 😜 and this story wasn’t any different..less than 24hrs and I’m already done! Sweet and spicy 😋🥵
Finn Davenport + Holly Brown We love a perfectionist MMC and a “act not, think later” FMC 🫶🏽✨ this combo is match made 😏 Ugh their banter was BANTERING! And their “fake” confessions 🫠 I could not stop smiling like a damn cheshire cat 🤭🤭
This is the 3rd book in her “Starting Out” series.. and you can read it as a standalone (like me😜)— lol I didn’t know it was the 3rd book, but it was pleasant surprise and I’m just so happy that I can read more 🤗🤗

Overnight Boss delivers a delightful fake-dating romance filled with humor, heart, and sizzling chemistry. Finn’s serious demeanor as a newly minted CEO clashes charmingly with Holly’s impulsive and carefree attitude. Their unlikely partnership begins as a scheme to save Finn’s job and provide Holly with a wedding date, but it quickly evolves into something deeper. Lila May balances lighthearted banter with poignant moments, showcasing their emotional growth and undeniable connection. The open-door romance brings a perfect mix of steam and substance, making it a captivating read. Fans of fake dating and opposites-attract tropes will love this story.
WOWZERS! Overnight Boss by Lila May was a total surprise! The storyline was amazing and the spice was VERY spicy! I don’t usually read a lot of books with the fake dating trope, but this book literally sucked me right in.
Finn is a CEO and needs help getting his ratings up or he will lose his job. He is in desperate need of a girlfriend to make his playboy ways look like a thing of the past. Holly is Finn’s employee and needs a date to her best friend’s wedding. They agree to help each other out while creating sparks along the way.
This book had me DYING!!!! THE BANTER WAS BANTERING!!
This book is, in fact, dual POV, and though I adore Finn, I personally favored Holly's (FMC) POV chapters. She is funny, quirky, and easily flustered, which *spoiler* definitely drives Finn (MMC) absoulty crazy 🤭🤭. Finn definitely has that billionaire CEO grumpy hot man vibes. Which just UGH YES 😩 Long story short, Lila May does a very good job at incorporating as many foot kicking, happy pterodactyl screeching, forehead smacking, "what are you even doing my guy" moments into this book. Which are only amplified by all the tension and ✨️spice✨️ she adds in making it a wonderfully cooked romantic office comedy.
For the people who live, laugh, and breathe fake dating office, banter romances: I really think you'd enjoy this book. For the people who live, eat, and breathe romance: I really think you'd enjoy this book
Honestly, for anyone: read this book, it was super fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed it 😊🩷
