This is such a great way to teach students about patterns! I think students would be engrossed by the storyline and would want to know if Nina can put together the necklace she borrowed from her sister in time! I would have the students model the necklace in the book with their own similar beads. We could also extend the book and have students make their own patterns and share them with the class. Such a great book to introduce patterns!

This is a good book to use for Kindergarten or first grade when teaching or reviewing patterns. You could have the students make necklaces and create their own patterns. It could start by making simple AB or ABC patterns and then it can get to move complex patterns. It can be a color patterns but even a size pattern.

In this book, Nina has to borrow a necklace from her sister. In the process Nina recognizes the patterns that the jewels make. This is a simple book that helps teach patterns. It shows students how to do color patterns, size patterns, and color and size patterns.

This is a great book to just read for fun or to teach or review with students about patterns. This could be used for all elementary grade levels.
