Good practical ideas from an experienced teacher of journalism, English, and AP English. There's plenty to use here, from suggestions for writing instruction to teaching analytic tools for reading literature. This is a good bridge between 'traditional' English and radical, social-justice teaching.

For those who have a desire to teach the writing process better, this is a very excellent book on the craft and realistic in its approach - will be a guiding tool in my classroom this year.
