Their love was forged in darkness, their legacy written in blood.
Scottie For seven long years, I lived in New York to avoid the man who shattered my heart. Returning to the Toronto vampire compound where I grew up is tough, but I hope to surprise my father for his birthday and have a magical night. Instead, I'm surprised with a bloody nightmare.
A rogue group of vampires have breached the compound, killed the vampire king, and to seal their reign, are now after the Diamond Dagger and the prince—my prince.
The last thing I want to do is track down Zane Vasari, but someone has to warn Zane. Someone has to keep him alive. Like it or not… that someone is now me.
Zane Life is a fickle bitch. You think you have it all and then, with one decision, your heart is ripped from your chest and you’re left hollow and bleeding. I wanted to protect the woman I loved—the only woman I have ever wanted at my side—from the feral darkness growing within me.
I meant to safeguard Scottie from my urge to devour her, my carnal need to sink my fangs into her flesh and consume her like the beast I was born to be. Instead, I destroyed us both, and the shadows of my life took hold completely. And now, she’s standing in my bedroom, covered in blood and looking haunted and broken.
The smell of her blood awakens the beast within me. Scottie is back, and she’s mine. Mine to heal. Mine to devour. Mine to love. And whoever did this to her will pay. Let the blood flow...
Siege of Blood and Betrayal is a dark mafia vampire romance with super spicy scenes and an ongoing storyline. Expect an enemies to lovers, second chance story with betrayal, blood and gore, forced proximity, and scenes of a violent and explicit sexual nature.
3.5 ⭐ I enjoyed the concept of this book, I found the FMC was fantastic, I really loved that she didn't take no rubbish from anyone. There are 3 MMC but Tucker was just such a delight and I loved seeing their development and want to see more of Tucker and Scots relationship and their magic.
Zane is the Vampire Prince of Toronto and Huntley is his bodyguard and best friend. I think there is a lot more to see from the past between Zane, Huntley and Scots and I wonder if more will be in the next book.
Scotland (Scots or Scottie) ends up being bound to protect Zane, but with their past and her heartbreak. Will she be able to move forward and trust him again, to make sure they have the best bond moving forward to protect him and their vampires.
The book was quick paced with the story line, I didn't think it to spice 2.5 🌶️. I also loved Jack and can't wait to see more of Scots training. I think the book was a great first book, ended on a cliffhanger and I'm excited for the next book!
Generously giving this 3 stars. There were so many times in the first 50% that I kept putting this down and having trouble picking it back up again that I almost DNF it. I I even read other books while reading this one cause I was so frustrated with it. I liked the FMC, Scottie (aka Scott & Scotland). I absolutely hated Zane & Huntley, 2 of 3 of the MMCs. They are the main reasons I almost DNF so many times. The 3rd MMC, Tucker, I adored, and he was the reason I kept reading. The plot moved pretty slowly considering it’s a very short amount of time in the story. All I could think about was that if I were the FMC, I’d have given up the sacred scribe (or whatever it was called) to the jackass Huntley and once the revenge was done for her father & the king, booked ass out of there to never see those 2 selfish assholes again. Not sure if I want to read book 2 or not when it comes out.
What happened to sensitivity readers? Why does a non black author feel comfortable referring to a black character as ‘dreads’? That’s dehumanizing. It also doesn’t help that the character was extremely aggressive towards the blonde, hotheaded main character. Huntley can go to h e double hockey sticks & so can his boyfriend. The author’s writing has downgraded somehow.
I devoured this book in less than 24 hours! Every character has a multifaceted personality. No all lust and positivity. Wounded souls figuring things out and healing. The story is all about family love and righting a serious wrong. I can’t wait to start the next one!
I came to this knowing nothing about this author & I'm so glad I did. Fantastic characters & a dexterity with the plot makes this a compelling & satisfying read. The complexity of the relationships lifts this into a swirling push & pull. I can't wait to see how this develops so I'm off to read the next book.
I've never read any books by this author, but I will now. This book was fast paced, emotionally charged and very interesting. My favorite character so far is Tucker. I want to know more about him. I can't wait to see how this story plays out.
