Amanda Bright is a crime journalist. She finds a connection between six women who were murdered throughout Pennsylvania. However, the local police department is not happy with her because of a previous expose she did involving corrupt police officers. No one at the police station wants to take her seriously. This killer has a type. All six victims have green eyes and are brunette. Amanda is also a brunette with green eyes so her boss worries about her. Amanda finally gets a hold of her friend Peter, who is a detective.
Peter, along with Amanda’s brother Adam and Jake Mathers met in the military and became friends. Peter thinks of Amanda as a little sister. When going to meet Peter, Amanda is attacked by the serial killer. Luckily, Peter went to find Amanda when she was late and scared off the killer. Peter decides to put Amanda in a safe house in the mountains.
Peter asks Jake to protect Amanda. Things are complicated because Jake broke Amanda’s heart two years ago. They have a history that neither of them has forgotten.
This story was action packed between searching for the serial killer and the sparks that still existed between Amanda and Jake. An exciting end to this series.

Loved it. Definitely my favorite so far

When Amanda gets attacked, Peter tells her she needs to go in seclusion.What he doesn't tell her is that the man who will be there protecting her is her ex, Jake.
While she hasn't seen him in a few years, she still loves him and doesn't know why he walked away. But he is here now and will hopefully give her answers. Jake neve stopped loving Amanda, and he though walking away was best.
Now, with her life in danger can he not only protect her but win her back?.

The two have to fight the chemistry, and the man hunting Amanda.

Last Chapter Press' multi-author series has been great in introducing me to some new authors, and the Winter Rescue series is no different. Stella Bella's Saved by the Lieutenant is a second chance romance wrapped in a romantic suspense. When investigative journalist Amanda gets too close to catching a serial killer, she ends up in a safehouse with the only man she's ever loved - the man who broke her heart two years ago. Will Jake be able to keep her safe AND earn back her trust?

Jake has always loved Amanda and he can’t stand the idea of losing her forever in the hands of a killer.
This is a breathtaking story, full of mystery and suspense. It was quite scary for me to read, but I loved every moment of it.

A murder mystery, a second chance at love, and a thrilling climax makes for a great read. I wish the male lead had to grovel more :), but the storyline is wonderful and keeps you guessing.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a realistic story where a serial killer is caught. Amanda is investigating the murders and is attacked. Jake steps up to protect her. I like that they clear the air between them and get back together for good.

Quick read
This is a quick read with suspense and steam. Jake and Amanda have a history, but not on good terms. Amanda is attacked and Jake vows to protect her until the suspect is caught. Can Jake earn Amanda's trust back or will the killer finish what he started? Such a great read.

Amanda is an investigative reporter who gets herself in some danger and Jake is her ex who is determined to protect her. This is a second chance romance filled with danger, suspense, steam, and a happily ever after. Saved by the Lieutenant is a great addition to the multi-author Winter Rescue series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

WOW!! So Good!!
Well written story and well developed characters. Those are the most important things, to me, in a book. In this one, there is an investigating criminal reporter. Two deputies. A boss who is like a father. An ex that walked out. And a serial killer! Who will survive? Who is the killer? Read it to find out!!

She was the endgame of a serial killer only she knew about. He was the man that had broken her heart and the only one that could protect her. And their story, though short, is an intense ride that kept me on the edge of my seat. Well done!
