My wife and I have started reading quite a lot on adoption lately off a list of recommended readings. This book in particular was tough to read. I admit I read about half way, picked a random insert at the end, and decided it was time to stop. The author had an endless dismal and depressing outlook on adoption that gave me the impression of turning people off from joining into an adoption plan for a child. This book really made me upset. We had far better books on our list that gave a realistic image while not getting stuck on a bleak outlook.
