My books name is "Simply Christmas stories to warm your heart". The genre of this book would be that is short story collections of Christmas. On of the short stories that I like the most is "Silver Dollar Miracle" I like this short story because is on of the sad is story but at the end it has a happy ending. This is a story about a young girl name Annie Sinkler that she thought that her brother was death. Her brother Jimmy's ship had been sunk some were in the Pacific this happened 3 days after Christmas Eva. Her brother and along with 185 sailors were missing. She wanted to celebrated Christmas with the same spirit as she used to be she hade the sad feeling inside of her heart that she was missing the most important person to be able to have the same feeling as she used to. As she was fixing the Christmas tree light she saw a young boy outside her porch seating down, it was frizzing out side. So Annie takes him inside so wouldn't be cold she gives him some food for him to eat. Cal asker why she was sad and she tells him about what happened with her brother, and she would never see him again. Cal reaches over to Annie and claps her hand he tells her “he’s stand a better chance of coming back if you don’t give up on him” That night was the only night that she didn’t dream of sunken ships in cold Philippine waters or sailors flailing around in a shark-infested Pacific Ocean. In the morning the sun came up so that means that the phone line were working know and there were not snow outside. Cal hade stayed in Jimmy’s room. When Annie when to look for Cal, Cal was gone she notices that room was the same as when her brother went to war. She looks for him all over the house but she didn’t found him. She found the marbles that she gave him in Christmas Eva. She drops the bag of marbles and she saw a something glinted in the sunlight and caught her attention. It was the silver dollar that long ago hade been run over flattened by a train. When ever Jimmy and Annie were little they belief that dollar hade magic. At just a moment, the phone rang it was Jimmy calling her. He tells her that a Philippine fisherman rescued him from the cold water. He tells her that he has ready to give up hope. And that whenever he was on the ship, he hade lost the silver dollar. It was a miracle that whenever she found the dollar in the marbles her brother calls her. And she notice that Cal was right about not giving up on hope.
My favorite line would be when ever Annie’s brother calls her whenever she found her magic silver dollar. I like this line because is the shows the happy ending of the story. This story I would describe it as a sad story but at the same time you’re just weighting to see what kind of miracle would happened to have a happy ending.
