Psychiatry: The Ultimate Betrayal
PSYCYIATRY-THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL examines psychiatry from its early beginnings to the present and traces its rise to influence in our society. It is a remarkable story of style over substance, of promises over results, and unrestrained thirst for power. But it is also the story of of the politicians who believed the public relations and kept forking out the dollars; of the educators who violated their duty to pass knowledge on to our young and accepted provenly unworkable theories; of media which naively propagated unspected claims and wild theories as truth. The influence of psychiatric thought upon our lives has been catastrophic. In this searching examination, you will learn exactly how this has happened, how so much of what we casually think of today as "the way it is" had its beginnings in the faulty theories of men who had less than our best interests at heart. But they say knowledge is power, and with this knowledge you will also learn how we can reverse this tide of destruction and regain what is of value in our lives and our society. It is time things changed for the better instead of for the worse. This important book is a tool that will help bring such a change about. It is long overdue.

Psychiatry: The Ultimate Betrayal by Bruce Wiseman
It is rare that one book addresses the many ills of our culture, but this one comes close!
Using excellent references, the author illustrates how the psychiatry movement in the United States was the basic cause of most of our societal problems: unwed mothers, loss of religious belief, lack of morality, crime, poor educations, poor mental health care, overdrugging of both children and adults, and on and on.
I would recommend this book for anyone going to a therapist, taking psychiatric medicines, or losing religion due to their therapy; plus all others interested in psychiatry, psychology, sociology, and medicine!

Wiseman provides a compelling thesis for the degradation of society we have experienced over the last few decades. An eye-opening exposé into the gross incompetency and fraud that continues to this day in the field of psychiatry.

An eye-opening read that will leave you asking how this can happen in a civilized culture. A must-read.

An interesting perspective on psychiatry. I don't agree with all of the authors views, I am definitely not supporting the view that religious manipulation of human beings is a good way for us to live, but it does have a point when explaining the effects of use of electrodes and the use of psychiatric drugs.

Left me very puzzled. How can this happen right under our noses? A must read.
