What impressed me most about this book is how it easily could be real life. So often everyday life gets in the way. That love, when saying ‘I Do’ so many years ago, has taken second place. It matters not if you’re filthy rich, middle class or poor, life changes over time and so often G_d is put on the back burner.
Trek had everything money could buy… power, riches, success, influence. Problem is, there are some things money can’t buy.
Zara’s needs were simple …or so she thought. She wanted a husband who would love her and their daughter more than he loved his power, his businesses, his wealth. Therein lies the problem. Zara couldn’t bear seeing Livvy, their teenage daughter, suffer anymore from her dad’s ambivalence, thus Zara packs up and leaves Trek.
Taking Livvy with her, they head across the country to Zara’s childhood home to start a new life… one of little money but lots of friends, real friends that value Zara and Livvy for themselves rather than the pocketbook.
Totally shocked, Trek was at a standstill. He loves Zara and Livvy but kept putting his mistress first. No, not another woman, Trek’s mistress was his work, his corporations. Yes, He’d given Zara a life of privilege and a glitzy lifestyle, but in doing that he’d ignored Zara and Livvy’s true needs … him. They needed him, his presence, his companionship, his heart.
Tragedy hits. Livvy’s life is on the line and now Trec has hard choices to make…. and so does Zara.
🤔OBSERVATIONS
✒︎ Trek was a controller and had to learn to let go, to let Zara shine. “I’m sorry” were not words in Trek’s vocabulary. Could He rebuild the trust he’d shattered?
✒︎ Zara had to learn to let go and let God. Trec needed to learn he had put his Creator on the back burner.
✒︎ Protective dad…. Trek made sure to keep an out on Wyatt, Livvy’s boyfriend.
✒︎ Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before the fall… both Trec and Zara had issues they needed to face. In this case, it took tragedy to open their eyes.
This book is a great testament to the power of God to heal. Broken bodies. Broken hearts. Broken families. All can find healing and inner peace in the power of the God of our grace and salvation.
Trek had been raised by parents of faith, but had let the values of the world assume precedence in his life. Money and winning ever bigger business deals ruled his life and he couldn't release control of his business to anyone else. It took his daughter being in a life-threatening automobile accident to make him stop long enough to hear that 'still, small voice' trying to gain his attention.
Zara had finally had enough of Trek's continual abrogation of his commitments to her, and even moreso to their teen daughter. After one last night of passion, she packs up herself and her daughter and flees to her childhood home in the small town of Sweet Mountain.
Seeing the healing of Livvy's broken body, starts to open her parents' hearts to be brought into accord with the Father's, and only then, in the wonder of the Christmas season, could the family find healing and wholeness.
I received an advance beta copy of this story directly from the author and voluntarily chose to share my review.
I feel like Ms. Haley-McNeil’s books always come when I need them! I love being reminded of God’s word. Zara met Trek (a billionaire) when she was going to college and working as a waitress. They got to know each other with Trek coming to where she worked frequently. Trek was very attracted to Zara, and Zara couldn’t care less about his money. They had one night together during a snow storm, and Zara became pregnant. They were married with both deeply in love, and their daughter was born. Livvy was close to her mother, but Trek let her down many times as he put his corporation ahead of his family. Trek’s mother and Zara had tried to get him back in church, but he always let his business come first. I can’t imagine how Trek felt when Zara took Livvy to the other side of the country where Zara was raised. God brings good when something bad happens if we look for it. Livvy got in a bad car accident, and Trek flew out to be with her as soon as he found out. Zara had another surprise for him too. I loved seeing how Trek let others run his company, and how he started listing to what God was saying to him. It was funny how Livvy’s personality was so much Like Trek. This story will warm your heart. I strongly encourage you to read it.
Zara Radisson, along with her teen-aged daughter, Livvy, left Trek and moved back to Sweet Mountain, Colorado. The story opens 8 months later with Trek Radisson going into the reception area of Sweet Mountain Community Hospital. His daughter, Livvy, had been in a car accident and was in a coma in the Intensive Care Unit.
After several hours Livvy wakes up from the coma but due to a fractured pelvis she wouldn't be able to go home until arrangements were made for rehabilitation therapy. Either their home would need to be remodeled to allow for the therapy, or she would have to transfer to the hospital's rehabilitation center.
I was moved by the way the author, Laura Haley-McNeil, wrote about Trek's gradual acceptance of God and His gift to all that believed in Him. I also enjoyed the way Trek grew to realize his family was more important than his corporation and all his money.
I recommend this happy-ever-after story. Read about the deep love between Trek and Zara, and their growing family. This is a clean, contemporary, Christian romance.
I was given an ARC of this story from BookFunnel at the request of the author, Laura Haley-McNeil. All thoughts and comments are mine, given voluntarily.
This story begins with Trek Raddison visiting Sweet Mountain Community Hospital to see his teen-age daughter, Livvy, who has been involved in a car accident. Trek’s former wife, Zara, also lives in Sweet Mountain with their daughter. Trek’s visit is the first time he and Zara have seen each other in quite a few years.
As Trek and Zara spend time together regarding Livvy, their former attraction for each other returns. They have learned from their former years together how to treat each other with more respect and Trek steps up to be an involved father. Zara finds the new Trek hard to resist, and they end up becoming intimate just once more. Soon, a new baby is on the way, so Trek continues to commute to Sweet Mountain as much as his career will allow while trying to figure out how to make their relationship permanent.
If you enjoy reading romantic novels in which the main characters spend a good amount of time together, and have learned to appreciate each other’s strengths, you will enjoy this story. I think it is very well written and it will go on my re-read list!
I love all things Laura Haley-McNeil and this does not disappoint, this is part of The Christmas Billionaire's series. Zara Raddison left her billionaire husband Trek, and took their teenage daughter Livvy with her. They moved to her hometown of Sweet Mountain Colorado. Trek was always to busy to spend time with either of them, but it affected Livvy the most. He always promised he would be at her games, plays, dance recitals, etc. but he never showed up. She'd spend the night crying with her mom. Livvy is in a car accident, has surgery, and is in the ICU. Zara calls her estranged husband's assistant and levels a message. He shows up at the hospital, and sees how much he is missing in his life. Can he just walk away from his corporate deals, to be a husband and father? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Laura Haley-McNeil!!!
I loved in this book how Trek realizes by putting his company and business first, he sacrificed his relationship with his wife and daughter. Ultimately making it so his wife left him. Zara still loves Trek but can no longer deal with the heartbreak their daughter, Livvy has every time her father doesn’t carry through with the promises he makes. It’s sad when someone placed their job, prestige, or other things above their family. However, in this book, while praying for a miracle for his daughter, Trek realizes everything he has done and decides to make a change. This romance novel is unlike any I have read before. I enjoyed how true it was and how much it made me think of where I am placing my priorities. Am I putting my family first? This was a great Christmas read filled with many miracles and change of hearts.
* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
The Billionaire’s Christmas Miracle by Laura Haley-McNeil Billionaire’s Christmas Series Book Twelve Trek Raddison is a billionaire. His company keeps growing. It’s doing great, but his marriage? Not so good. Eight months ago, his wife took his daughter and moved to her hometown of Sweet Mountain, Colorado, while he stayed in New York. Now…his daughter was in an accident, so he’s in Colorado too. Zara Raddison loves her husband. She wants to follow God’s will but can’t handle seeing the disappointment in Livvy’s eyes again. Trek was great at running his company, not so much at being there for his family. And now he’s here, in Sweet Mountain. As always, I loved this story. The emotions were intense as I saw a husband and wife who still loved each other struggle with what to do. Zara was content with a simple life in Colorado, whereas Trek had only known an elitist New York life. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
This was such a sweet romantic story set during Christmas and it definitely was Trek's Christmas miracle. Trek Reddison was consumed with his business and amassing more money at the detriment of his wife and daughter. After seventeen years Zara had seen enough disappointment in her daughter, Livvy to leave for her hometown of Sweet Mountain, Colorado.
Livvy's car accident was the catalyst to bring Trek to Colorado and for both Zara and Trek to find the miracle they both wanted. Neither one of them wanted a divorce so they each turned to God for answers to their prayers.
I really liked how Trek found his faith again and learned what was truly important. Lessons his father had tried to teach him. What a beautiful story of hope for a second chance to be a family again. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Trek and Zara are on the brink of divorce because Trek spends more time with his business than with his family. Zara is afraid Livvy, their daughter, will suffer from his neglect if they remain with him. So, Zara moves back to her hometown. Trek immediately drops everything and rushes to their side when Livvy is in an automobile accident. Will Trek get his priorities straight in order to keep his family?
This is a sad story of heartbreak and restoration with a joyful conclusion. It contains many Christian elements, including prayer and faith in God. The theme is how God can change the heart and use bad circumstances for good.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is entirely voluntary and unbiased.
This is a story of a marriage that through the miracle of Christmas, they are brought back together. Trek has been in charge of his family’s companies for several years with his wife and daughter placed on the back burner. Now, his wife Zara, has decided to move back to her hometown of Sweet Mountain with the daughter Livy. They have been away from Trek and New York for 8 months. Now, Zara and Trek are together again in Sweet Mountain as Livy has had a severe accident. Trek realizes all that he has lost while putting work first in his life as well as how he had lost his way with God. Changes happen between the couple as the grow closer and open their hearts again to love
A marriage that fell apart to forced proximity due to their daughter’s accident. He is NYC corporate, and she is small town country. Can two people who still love each other find a way to find shared priorities and reconcile? While it was interesting to read how they thought and the ways that changed, the book is mostly in the couple’s heads and lacked action, mostly taking place in the hospital or in Zara’s home. I missed people doing something and dropped 1*.
Received an ARC and this is my honest, unsolicited review.
This is such a beautiful second chance story. Zara left Trek thinking it was for the best. When their daughter is involved in a car accident, Trek drops everything and rushes to their side. Zara is concerned that Trek will quickly return to his all-consuming business. Trek wants his family back. His return to a relationship with God is so awe inspiring. Zara also must release her fears unto The Lord. The ending is so satisfying and I absolutely love the epilogue. I received this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Zara and Trek have a wonderful second chance book. A broken home, a tragic accident, and a secret; only a miracle can heal this family as they try to find a way back to God and each other? When Zara could not convince her billionaire husband to step back from work and pay attention to their daughter’s needs, she packs up and moves back to her hometown of Sweet Mountain. Their daughter winds up in the hospital, fighting for her life. I highly recommend this faith based inspirational book.
The Billionaire's Christmas Miracle is a Christian, powerful, emotional romance. This well written book reminds the reader of truths that Trek must learn - family should always trump business! As Teck and Zara’s daughter Livvy works to recover from a car accident, Trek finally sets aside his businesses and focuses on his family. Will he be able to save his marriage as well as become the father he has failed to be? This book had me neglecting everything on my to-do list so I could binge read it since I could not put it down!
Enjoyed this story a lot. My attention, interest, was grabbed in the very beginning and stayed glued to this book til the end. Characters were solid , compassionate and God fearing. Am especially fond of Zara, main female lead, Trek, lead male and Livvy their teenage daughter. The ending was better than I'd hoped it to be and Christianity was well written throughout.
I received a free, ARC, copy for my honest, free and voluntary review
Trek is a work-a-hollic. His neglect of their daughter is more than she can stomach. It's time to move out. But she's hiding a very important secret. He doesn't realize how much his work ethic is affecting the marriage. Joining his wife after their daughter is in an accident begins to bring him to the reality that changes need to happen. An excellent example of the pitfall a lot of men fall into when it comes to their jobs. I received an advance copy. This is my voluntary opinion.l
After a near fatal event, Trek re-evaluates his life and marriage in this enjoyable heartwarming second chance redemption romance. I really liked Zara and Trek’s characters and how they dealt with their issues and the epilogue was delightful. This is a truly enjoyable Christmas romance.
Strong characters, interesting plot, God in control…three important elements taking this family from broken to healed. Trek and Zara place God first to repair their marriage and build a family they didn’t expect. Highly Recommend!
From the moment I started reading Trek and Zara’s story I was hooked! This touching story of their journey together as they stand by their daughter after her accident, has made this my most favourite book in the series. Definitely a must read! I received an Arc copy.
When a car accident places their daughter in the hospital, Zara and Trek both rush to help her to heal. Is it possible that along the way their broken marriage might also heal? Miracles abound in this book through God's mercy!!
A beautiful story of second chances when we allow God's guidance in our lives. It's hard to wait on His timing but always worth the wait. Thanks much for a great read.
Beautifully written this is a second chance love story, clean, fast paced, likable characters and so very sweet. I love this book and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. I received a copy from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review
This book will lead you the right way and show you how to be a blessing to your family! Can a person who is totally involved in the world of business get his priorities right and actually make changes that stick?
Too full of guilt and religiosity. Not my type of romance. Overpowering guilt is not positive so I do not like it and will never read another book by Laura Haley-McNeil.
