I read this book for the somatic healing and deepening my yoga knowledge versus weight loss. But I found it extremely helpful and well done. The diagrams showing different poses, as well as modifier tips to make it easier or more difficult were immensely helpful. I also appreciate all the journal prompts. Highly recommend.

Nowadays, weight loss is a redundant topic. There are various approaches and possibilities to achieve our ideal weight. Finding the holistic approach written by Claudia Lynne is very exciting. Sometimes, during a weight loss process, we forget that mind and body are one. To achieve long-term results, we should work with our whole body, coordinating its efforts towards our goal. The 28-day program offers valuable daily step by step support including illustrations for easy reference not taking the reader to far on the first day, but constructing a routine that will get more complex and beneficial with a conscious process.
What's most valuable is how the author provides support throughout the process, helping us connect our mind and body to reset our nervous system and reduce stress, which is a significant obstacle in weight loss. Yoga will be the vehicle. The connection it has with mindfulness and self-awareness allowed me to realize how I was feeling throughout the process and compromised with the purpose, starting with my mind to see changes in my body.

If you want to tackle weight gain caused by stress, “Somatic Yoga for Weight Loss” is definitely worth a read! The author discusses how stress can harm our bodies, health, and overall well-being, and this really hits home for me given my high-stress job.
What I enjoyed most about this book is the 28-day plan it provides, which is really straightforward to follow, complete with specific poses and visuals that guide you through each step. I've picked up techniques that I can easily add to my daily routine, helping me reduce anxiety and enhance my overall well-being.

I definitely plan to reread this book. Every time I open it, I discover something new that reinforces my yoga practice and my commitment to self-care. I highly recommend this valuable resource that will inspire you to delve deeper into this wonderful discipline.

Great Book

I enjoyed the book. I have practiced yoga lightly for over 25 years but never practiced somatic yoga before. This book is great for learning how to add the somatic and mindfulness into your daily routine. There are some challenging poses and breath work also as bonus. Great book for anyone trying to enhance their routine or have never done yoga before.

Good plan if you can't make a class

This is a good book for those interested in using yoga to help with stress-related weight gain. The author starts by explaining how stress can negatively affect our body, our health, and our overall well-being, then goes on to explain how somatic yoga can help. I appreciated how the author used science to back up the claims of the benefits of yoga. The book then goes on with the actual 28 day plan, complete with specific poses and charts. Of course, nothing will beat an in-person yoga class with a qualified teacher to guide you, but this book is good if you're uncomfortable or unable to go to a class, plus it has the benefit of a 28-day program that you can start at any time.

A whole reading experience.

A very complete book! I think it’s an amazing tool to learn about yoga and all the theory behind of it, but also the perfect “teacher” and guide through yoga sessions.
In this book, through the first four chapters, reader would find some important aspects and theory about Somatic Yoga, stress relief and weight loss. This part is all sustained by important authors and text that give completely credibility.
The second part of the book is the cherry of the cake. In it, you’ll find some routines with pictures, and the step by step to do a Yoga session for four weeks. Absolutely an amazing and helpful book that would take somatic yoga to another level.

I have some blood tests done recently, and my cortisol was over the roof. This transforming book has helped me open up my mind and understand that I do need to do crazy diets or exercises to lose it or to lose the weight associated with it.
The narrative helps us in different aspects of our life, such as anxiety, which I think is one of the most important things these days.
I like the way the author speaks to us, she is clear, nice, and she uses simple language to walk us through the different exercises and tips for us to pursue.
The four-week plan is amazing! I have followed that plan and I can truly see changes. Loved this author and her book.

It is not a lie that day by day we are looking for more methods, not only to lose weight but to have a more balanced life that positively impacts your health. In this search, I found this book that I really recommend, not only because it has very valuable information, but because it shows how these yoga exercises will help you with a part that for me is fundamental and that is stress. I think the book becomes much more valid because of all the study behind it, it helps you to trust that this change in your routine will really impact significantly in your physical and mental health. I loved all the exercises, they are now part of my daily routine!!!

Useful tips.

Claudia Lynne offers a guide to losing weight and connecting with your body through somatic yoga. The book contains many different exercises that are explained with a series of instructions and images so that they are easy to understand. In addition, the author tells what each exercise is good for.
This book is really interesting and I liked it because it is a guide to connect with ourself and improve our health. I think it doesn't have the best perspective or rather, the best title, because in my opinion, it is much more important to restore the nervous system or relieve pain than to lose weight. Still, it has useful tips that I took to apply to my life.

Connect mind and body

The book starts by introducing somatic yoga and explaining the goal of it and the benefits it may provide. Then we get into the exercises. The exercises are divided into weeks with each week having a unique focus/goal. For example, week 4 is about transformation. The exercises are explained step by step and have illustrations for further clarification. The author really makes the point clear and explains everything well.

Claudia Lynne presents a well organized, easy to understand, step by step guide to Somatic Yoga for weight loss. I love that in addition to detailed instructions and illustrations she also includes a link to you tube videos to further assist the reader in understanding the poses. The inclusion of a journal for tracking is an added bonus. Highly recommend.

stretches and yoga

The author provides photographs and texts for stretching and yoga movements to help align the mind-body connection, through these movements, stress and anxiety can be worked through. There is a 4 week plan to help you a hive your goal.

Great introduction to somatic yoga

This book is well written, easy to understand and informative. The instructions for the poses and clear and easy to follow. All modifications are also fully explained. I am looking forward to following this.

I’m not specifically using for weight loss and I haven’t completed the program yet BUT this book has an easy to follow plan with descriptions and pictures of all the moves. So for all that - 5 ⭐️
