Molly has been captured, imprisoned, and is near-death when rescued. Spending time with Ivan has her re-thinking her vow not to take a mate.
Molly finds the mysterious and aloof Ivan deeply irresistible—she has from the moment she met him. But she's spent the last year dodging her family's plans to mate her to another shifter with no intention of changing her mind. Will being kidnapped and imprisoned in a cell where food and water stopped coming days ago cause her to lose hope?
Ivan volunteers every waking moment to find Molly since she went missing. His reaction to the sweet little cat shifter surprises him. He's fiercely determined to never settle down with another shifter, but he can't escape the draw she has on him.
Rescuing Molly is only the beginning. The danger she and the rest of the runaway cat-shifters have managed to elude is closing in on them fast. Ivan is committed to protecting Molly from any threats, but his past comes back to bite him when his old enforcer friend tells him he's been hired to bring Molly in. Will his love for Molly turn them both into prey?

Feral Escape is the third book in the Catnip and Cauldrons Series. Although this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. However, I highly recommend reading the entire series from book one. Cole and Onyx are living happily together and yet, they (and their shifter friends) are still in danger. The Enforcers are out for blood, and they are determined to take the shifters down. When Molly, a cat shifter, is put in jeopardy, Ivan, a fierce lynx shifter, comes to her aid.
Ivan takes Molly to his lair where he can keep her safe. As Ivan and Molly begin to bond, it is clear that they are complete opposites and yet, they could not be better matched for each other. Molly has much to overcome. Feeling rejection her entire life (from her own family and community), she struggles with trusting anyone and Ivan must prove his loyalty to her and the shifter movement. Thankfully for Molly, Ivan is driven to protect her, love her, and keep her forever.
Feral Escape is a fantastic addition to the Catnip and Cauldrons Series. Molly and Ivan are passionate together, and I adore the complexity of their relationship. Onyx and Cole still play a prominent role in this installment and I was thrilled to see them so blissfully happy. Molly is a strong heroine and her spunky personality pairs perfectly with Ivan's LONE-SHIFTER M.O.! The passion between Molly and Ivan is smoking hot and their connection both physically and emotionally will leave you breathless.
Overall, I cannot say enough about my love for this series. I can only hope that Ms. Lake will consider returning to this world to create more shifter goodness. With so many fantastic characters, passion, magic, and romance, this is one paranormal series you will want to check out!

I really love this series and was not disappointed by Feral Escape. It is longer than the first two books, which made me a happy girl! I loved that this story focuses on a new couple, but we still got to see Onyx and Cole together and very much still in love.
My favorite part, these two characters are scorching hot together! I'm not kidding. Keep a bucket of icewater nearby when reading! Of my recent reads, Molly is probably one of my favorite heroines, she is tough but sweet. Ivan is the perfect balance of protective alpha-male without being a controlling dickwad. Loved that! Been seeing way too many controlling a-holes posing as alphas lately!
I really hope this series continues. I love the concept and the characters.
Feral Escape is the story of two very different shifters drawn to each other despite even their own expectations. Ivan is a lynx: strong, predatory, formerly a part of the Enforcers, who hunt down "domestic" shifters defying the politics and arranged mating pairs their body of authorities lays out for them. Molly is a domestic--a shifter whose alternate form is a little housecat--and she had displayed just such defiance. Ivan rescues her from a trap the Enforcers have left for her, and brings her to his lair to keep her safe. The closeness of the situation, the heat of their chemistry, finds the two passionately entangled... and that's just the beginning of the complications they must work out in order to keep her safe.
This story had characters I can only describe as lovely. They are wonderful and beautiful and so endearing. Ivan and Molly have the sweetest chemistry, and theirs is a love story you really enjoy reading. Their supporting cast of friends are extremely likable and fiercely heroic. Overall, this book is a fun read and pleasantly full of good feelings, even throughout an sad set of conflicts.
My only misgiving about this book are a few scenes involving antagonists I feel could have been more unique. Molly's ex-betrothed and the Enforcers who kidnap her are characterized as rapists and motivated into sexual violence. The book doesn't cross any lines, in fact I wouldn't even call it "questionable" (certainly not as questionable as many others I've read and enjoyed), but given the beautiful complexities of the rest of the story and the characters, I felt the characters of the villains fell flat.
I give this book an enthusiastic 4 stars, for wonderful fun, sweet love story, passionate sensuality and beautiful characters. Autumn Jones Lake paints a vivid picture. Definitely a must-read if you love shifters, romance and adventure. This is a very special read and I look forward to the rest of the series.
I received this novella as a prize in a giveaway. Good storyline, although it lacked some plot depth and background (This is part of a series, so I assume some of the character development came in prior books). While I appreciate a fast-paced book, this was a little too fast. The rescue (not a spoiler, as this is in the blurb) was so quick, without any real build up or drama, I was disappointed. The storyline, wasn't as suspenseful as I'd hoped, considering the great plot for the story. But, it was a good book I liked the characters, and am interested in reading another book by this writer.
I already loved this series, but Feral Escape just blew me away. OMG.
It's the third in a series, but I don't think you HAVE to read the first two to enjoy this one. There are two new MCs but Onyx and Cole from the first two books do show up enough to make me happy.
Ivan is to-die-for. He is my new, favorite book boyfriend! I love that he is all twisted up and determined to be a loner because of what he feels are mistakes he made in the past. He's falling for Molly but doesn't think he's good enough for her so he keeps trying to keep his distance. Yet, he is unstoppable when it comes to protecting her. Swooon!
Molly is adorable and sassy, yet very different from Onyx (from the first two books). I really enjoyed her "take charge" attitude. The chemistry between Ivan and Molly is off-the-charts hot!
The author does not bash you over the head with lots of tedious backstory. Because the main characters themselves do not understand a lot about their heritage, in each book you slowly learn more about the shifter culture and traditions, which I really liked. I feel like I am discovering things right along with them instead of being told a bunch of stuff. The werecats are also trying to form their own pack with new, more fair traditions, so that is really cool as well.
There are a few characters from the last book we did not see in Feral Escape and there are some new characters in Feral Escape. I hope in future books we get to see them again!
We've met Ivan in the previous book. He took a liking to Nyx - much to Cole's annoyance - but then switched his attentions to Molly. I'm hoping you've already read book two and know that it ends with Molly being kidnapped.
So of course this one starts with everyone looking for her. But there's no trace of Molly anywhere. The cat shifters have to resort to magic in order to get some clues of her whereabouts and Ivan is the only one that figures it out. Take a wild guess why! *giggle*
I myself have taken a liking to Ivan because he was different from the others; his characters was built differently, I'm thinking because he's a lynx shifter, which in itself implies he's bigger and more badass than the rest. Don't take me wrong, I still love Cole but there's just something about Ivan...
Anyway, I like that things aren't dragged out; no extra drama added to the search. Ivan finds her, saves her and keeps her in his hidden lair. But it's not all solved, what with the shifters wanting her - hence the kidnapping - and will do anything to get her, dead or alive.
There was a time or two Ivan was frustrating - communication is key, that's all I'm saying - but the ending is a happy one, so that's all I'm after. I liked this one, all in all - book two is still my fave though - and I'm rating it 4 stars. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book and recommend the entire trilogy to any PNR lover.
Romance trope: shifters Series: Catnip and Cauldrons Length: 183 pages
Plot: Molly has been kidnapped and is waiting for someone to find her. That someone is Ivan, her current crush. The lynx shifter hasn't been interested in a domestic shifter in a long time, but Molly is different. He'll need to remember all his training to keep her safe as the world around them reorders itself.
Commentary: Molly seemed like she would be a lot of fun, but she was also a little rundown because of the whole kidnapping thing. She was a little immature for Ivan, I thought, but he was also a little pessimistic and grouchy for her. They both fell into the same trap - we're here for a good time only...except maybe there could be more? I was glad they came to an understanding, although the ending felt a little rushed/unclear to me. Still, fun shifter story!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and this book did not disappoint!! It had action and suspense and the HEA most people are looking for!! I definitely recommend this book and if you read the first two how can you not get this book too?!! Enjoy!!
I’m sad this is the end. I will definitely look at all cats differently and so wish I had the power to shift. Onyx and Molly have a lot to look forward to. Hopefully Ms Jones Lake will consider expanding this story...
