In a book of just under two hundred pages, the vast majority covers Shankly's tenure as Liverpool manager, a period of around fifteen years. I thought this biography could have provided a greater depth of detail of this football icons early life as well as his time as a player. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this and the memories of the players and teams of the 1960's. Full of old photographs as well as the famous quotes from the great man.
How many aspects of the game are different today though! Some have changed, some forever not for better, some have gone and some remain.
