Very interesting guide book to Chillicothe and Ross County, Ohio from 1941. The reader gets a look at look at local history as it relates to the national scene as well as a driving tour of the city. Each tour stop has a great blurb about the location's history, architecture, etc. At the end of book there is also a map - interesting to see a map without interstates.
I did find a place I would like to visit, too! Of course, back in 1941 it was private, but now it is a museum open to the public: the Adena Mansion and Gardens. I can't wait to go! :)
