Inconveniently Wedis a marriage of convenience, fake relationship, Italian billionaire romance from Pippa Roscoe.
For better or worse… they must stay wed!
To keep the Gallo empire from crumbling, Italian tycoon Antonio has to marry a woman of his late grandfather’s choosing. The problem? He already has a convenient wife! And securing a divorce from Ivy McKellen requires proving to a judge they’ve done everything possible to make their union work…
Ivy accepted Antonio’s proposal because she needed his billions for her brother’s care. Now that he needs her help, she’s happy to return the favor. But acting like a couple wasn’t part of the original bargain, so it’s incredible—and inconvenient—how quickly their heat ignites!
From Harlequin Escape to exotic locations where passion knows no bounds.
Pippa Roscoe writes sexy romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon and loves every happy ending in each of her books. With a major coffee addiction and a mild not-so-secret crisp eating compulsion – she spends her days fantasising about extraordinary romances, exotic locations and true love against all odds.
After graduating with a degree and a masters from Goldsmiths University, Pippa spent four years working on the BBC medical drama Holby City. After switching industries to publishing and spending five years as an editor working with incredible colleagues and inspirational authors, she finally decided to follow her own dream of writing and swapped London for Norfolk.
In her spare time she looks longingly at the countryside which she promises to roam, if she can drag herself away from her computer for long enough. She prefers to write outside in the sunshine, but during the winter is consigned to the kitchen – the warmest room in the cottage!
She can’t remember a time when she wasn’t dreaming about gorgeous brooding alpha heroes and sympathetic innocent heroines. Totally her mother’s fault of course – she gave Pippa her first romance to read at the age of seven! Pippa is inconceivably happy that she gets to share those daydreams with you all.
I loved this one from start to finish come along and meet Ivy McKellen and Antonio Gallo it is sure to leave you smiling.
Antonio Gallo needs to marry to keep The Gallo Empire in the family, according to his grandfather and he wants him to marry his cousin and Antonio is determined not to, having coffee in London Antonio meets waitress Ivy McKellen after talking to her he thinks she will be the best option for a convenient wife and for six years they are married without seeing each other but now he needs a divorce but the judge has other plans.
Ivy McKellen agrees to marry Antonio this is going to turn her life around she can help her brother buy a flat to call her own after the life she has had she breathes easy until an accident changes all of that again but she is happy to divorce six years later but when they go before the judge he wants them to do everything they can to make it work, Antonio takes her to Italy and for two weeks they do what they can to convince an assessor that they are incompatible but really the sparks fly and they decide to have a fling, but will they be able to end it?
Ivy is such a beautiful person inside and outside and yes Antonio has his flaws but he also is caring and loving their journey to a HEA was beautiful and emotional and a story that I do highly recommend to any lover of a fabulous romance.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Inconveniently Wed by Pippa Roscoe
I received a copy of Inconveniently Wed from the author through Booksprout. This review is given freely and without compromise.
This is a classic "fake marriage" romance with a compelling emotional journey. Our hero, arrogant Italian businessman Antonio Gallo, proposes a marriage of convenience to 19-year-old waitress Ivy McKellan simply to get his grandfather off his back. He offers her £250,000, promising, “Once we marry, you will never see me again.” No sentiment, no rings—just a cold transaction. In the beginning, I really struggled to warm to Antonio—he was utterly self-centered, and his treatment of Ivy was callous at best.
Ivy, on the other hand, was lonely and yearning for love. I loved her from the start—sweet, young, and full of heart. She deserved far more than a man who could snap his fingers and get what he wanted, and who, after marrying her, disappeared for six long years without a word.
Fast forward six years. Antonio now needs a quick divorce—to marry his cousin Maria, ironically the very woman he avoided marrying six years prior. He returns to London only because of this urgent need. Ivy hadn’t crossed his mind in all that time, despite the fact that she had tried to contact him three years earlier during a time of desperate need. He ignored her, and when the reason is revealed, my heart absolutely bled for her. I wanted to scratch his selfish eyes out! Yes, he feels guilt—good! And says he’ll never forgive himself—he shouldn’t!
But the judge denies the easy divorce, instead mandating a reconciliation period. And that’s where the love story finally begins.
Ivy travels to Italy with her so-called husband, and slowly, Antonio starts to see the beautiful, strong woman he so carelessly discarded. There’s passion, there’s tension, and yet still no spoken love—because he remains committed to his "duty" of marrying Maria. Just when it seems he might finally open his heart, we hit the black moment: he lets Ivy go. Our tortured heroine walks away, deeply wounded, thinking this is the final end.
And then, the courtroom scene—what a moment! Ivy is raw, ready to cut all ties, but Antonio delivers a powerful, emotional speech. He admits his mistakes, his regrets, and his failure to honour their vows, no matter how they began. It all started with a judge, a fake marriage, and a librarian—and it ends with a deeply moving love story that feels utterly earned.
There’s no cheating, no other women or men, and no "manwhore" behaviour—what a relief! Antonio has been celibate for six years. Ivy's warmth and strength shine through every page.
Thank you, Pippa, for another captivating romance. Your storytelling always touches the heart! ❤️❤️💝💝🌹💋 Discovering Pippa Roscoe and her heartfelt, beautifully written stories is quickly making her one of my favourite authors. ✍️
I loved this story. A hard working female protagonist with the odds against her and a gorgeous but self absorbed male protagonist who wasn't a manwhore. Yes Antonio was deeply flawed. But in an understandable way, once we knew where he was coming from. At first he comes across as selfish and uncaring but he also is deeply loyal to his adoptive mother and his cousin who was his best friend as a child. It is this loyalty that is the catalyst for this story. Antonio has been put in an impossible situation by his recently deceased grandfather, putting him in the same position that forced him into the convenient marriage with Ivy six years ago. That time it was to save himself, but this time it is Maria who needs him to finally obey his grandfather's edict. The villain of the piece (apart from the grandfather), is Maria and Antonio's former best friend who stands to gain if Antonio and Maria don't obey. He's a protagonist in a later book in this mini series and we catch a glimpse of him. Yum is all I can say. Ivy is driven by her need to help others. Six years ago it was her brother, now it is the community library in a poor area of London that desperately needs funds that Antonio can supply if she helps him achieve his goals. Watching these two circle each other and really learn who they were was lovely. It was particularly significant that Antonio had identified Ivy's bone deep integrity even in their brief association six years ago. Ivy had to move from seeing him as her saviour to seeing him as he truly was, flaws and all. The ending was deeply satisfying. There is an epilogue that's a little spoilery for the next two books in the series. If you don't like spoilers you could omit it and read it later, but I did enjoy the glimpse into the future.

Inconveniently Wed begins the Filthy Rich Italians trilogy with Ivy’s and Antonio’s strictly no-nonsense marriage of convenience. He needed a wife… right now. She needed the funds to help her brother enter rehab to battle his addiction demons. It was a perfect paper marriage that suited them… until it didn’t. Now, Antonio needs a quick divorce in order to help his cousin, Maria, inherit the business his grandfather had tied up in legalities before his death. Simply, he and Maria would marry, or she would lose everything she had worked so hard to build. In Antonio’s world, money could buy anything, but it couldn’t buy a judge’s quick signature on paperwork. Now, he and Ivy had to prove that they couldn’t stay married, that they had exhausted every attempt possible to reconcile before a divorce would be granted. There are more than a few surprises in store for this couple… including a real love that could last a lifetime, if they would only take the risk to their hearts.
I absolutely loved Inconveniently Wed by Pippa Roscoe. Ivy and Antonio were well-developed characters who leaped off the page as these two strangers fought their attraction, and Antonio’s past hurts were slowly healed by Ivy’s love. Definitely passionate, their story is a whirlwind of emotions, and second chances to allow what has built between them to take root. If you love a well-written romance full of emotions, beautiful locations, a heart-weary hero, and a heroine who will capture your heart, then you’d love this one. I am definitely looking forward to the next story in this trilogy.

Pippa Roscoe turns the heat up to eleven with her latest Harlequin Presents sizzler, Inconveniently Wed.
Italian tycoon Antonio Gallo has a huge problem on his hands - to keep control of his family empire he needs to marry a woman of his late grandfather's choosing. Only, he already has a wife and getting a divorce from Ivy McKellen is going to prove impossible. However, little does he realise that his convenient wife might just end up surprising him...
Ivy is in desperate need of money. With her brother to think about, when Antonio comes back into her life she has no choice but to accept his offer. Only, it quickly transpires that there is nothing convenient about her incendiary feelings for her husband!
Will this second chance at making their marriage work prove to be the making of Ivy and Antonio? Or will it just end up tearing them asunder once and for all?
Pippa Roscoe knows how to write sexy, intense and emotional contemporary romance and she does this brilliantly yet again with Inconveniently Wed. A dramatic marriage of convenience billionaire romance that readers will inhale in a single sitting, Inconveniently Wed by Pippa Roscoe is a must for Harlequin Presents fans!.

This is book one in The Filthy Rich Italians series and it is Antonio and Ivy’s story. Antonio needed a wife of convenience so that he could save the family Gallo Empire so he asked Ivy who needed money for her brother’s care and then Antonio walked away and left Ivy to care for herself. Fast forward six years and Antonio needs to divorce Ivy so that he could marry someone who his grandfather had chosen but things don’t always go as smoothly as he wanted it too so what follows just complicated there lives even more. Things were definitely not plain sailing for Antonio and Ivy and there were so many ups and downs along the way and even though Ivy was sweet, strong, loyal and loving, Antonio was the total opposite because he was arrogant, cold, callous, obnoxious and didn’t realise what a mess and mistake he had made of everything and then he had to redeem himself and try to put everything right. There are some emotional, sad and happy times and I really enjoyed reading their story and look forward to reading more books in the future.
Pages📄: 205 pages (Kindle) Main trope: Marriage of convenience💍 Spice🌶️: Present (I skipped) Ending: Happily ever after❤️ Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such a great marriage of convenience book.
I really loved Ivy and Antonio’s story. From the very first page I was hooked, and it just kept getting better and better for every chapter.
Seeing our main characters relationship bloom was beautiful. They went from two barely acquainted people that had to marry each other for convenience, to actually becoming something much more.
The writing style was top notch. The way the story was told, and the way Pippa Roscoe managed to pack so much emotion into one book, was incredible.
I adored the plot of the book, and loved our main characters.
Ivy and (especially) Antonio's characters development was spot on and exactly what was needed.
A really great marriage og convenience book that was extremely enjoyable to read.

Despite the odds, will ending their marriage be for the best? What’s not to love about a marriage of convenience that is now deemed inconvenient! Antonio must help his cousin keep the company she has worked hard for thanks to their deceased meddling grandfather! When the judge deems that Antonio and Ivy need to try mediation of sorts to ensure that their marriage is truly over, Antonio is beside himself with the delay. Antonio won’t accept “No” for an answer from Ivy, so asks Ivy what will she take to come to Italy for 2 weeks. Again, Ivy uses the monetary offer from Antonio for helping something she believes in, much like the first time when she took his money to help her brother. Yet with each outing, Antonio seemingly wants more of Ivy, but without any chance of love being in the equation. When the mediator asks what Ivy needs to stay in the marriage, what will Antonio do? You have to read to find out!
I love the book! Ivy and Antonio married for convenience. Now, six years later, Antonio wants a divorce. Ivy has to go to Tuscany and stay there for two weeks before the divorce will be granted. The book is entertaining from the first page. The plot is one that I love to read. I enjoyed reading about how the two strangers are handling being so close to each other all of a sudden. I love the characters and the romance. It's a page-turner and worth reading. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is the “Filthy Rich Italians Series.” Antonio is a billionaire tycoon. Ivy and Antonio enter into a marriage of convenience. Ivy needs money to care for brother. Antonio needs Ivy to marry him help with the Gallo company. Years have passed and now Ivy and Antonio need to divorce. Thanks to the judge that states that two need mediation to see if their marriage is truly over.
Why would the judge suggest mediation, does he see something in the marriage that Antonio and Ivy do not see and is there an HEA in store for the couple?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked Ivy but it took Antonio time to grow up and realize he loves her. I liked the emotional growth and how things progressed in the story.
